This link came up on another thread and I think warrants discussion. I am a liberal person but find this pretty horrific.

oh my word, I'm glad you made that point Tiktok. Am seriously considering decanting full fat milk into bags with a bit of sugar and selling it to credulous eejits.

solidgoldbrass · 14/03/2009 23:01

HBLB: Erm.... Well I guess that tightly-sealable containers would be fairly essential...

Anglepoise · 14/03/2009 23:24

Ha - I was going to post this thread a week or so ago but couldn't find a link to the story online. I did however find this curiously similar one (though the woman comes on in the comments and says that she was misrepresented).

Main things that struck me were that they both thought their boob size might have caused over-supply and both thought pumping would solve it.

AitchTwoOh · 14/03/2009 23:32

i think lakeland have some excellent ones, sgb.

It's illegal to send poo through the post though.

And another thing - how would they know you were not just an energetic dog owner?

AitchTwoOh · 14/03/2009 23:54

lol you two fraeks.

solidgoldbrass · 15/03/2009 00:05

HBLB: but what about sending off samples to charlatans 'astro-nutritionists'? And the legitimate right of political protest ie shitting in a box and posting it to Simon Cowell?

HerBeatitudeLittleBella · 15/03/2009 00:07

ROFL

Has someone really done that?

(sending shit to Simon Cowell I mean)

treedelivery · 15/03/2009 00:10

Now if someone offered me £200 for a few ounces.......

AitchTwoOh · 15/03/2009 00:11

i am fonder of SC since i decided that he was the mystery donor of 6mill to comic relief.

dragonbutter · 15/03/2009 00:14

i realise the thread has moved on a bit.
but i knew about this 'business opportunity' and actually thought it's not a bad idea.

but when i came to it. when the kids weaned, there was no amount of money on this earth that would make me want to continue feeling utterly knackered, and carrying my E cups around in underwireless bras with me for any longer than the babies required.

BoffinMum · 15/03/2009 00:15

Um, what is to stop someone doctoring the milk like people doctor drugs with talcum powder? I mean you could take cow's milk at 50p/pint, water it down 50% and add some lactose to make it sweeter, and these people need never know. You could then sell it at £16 a pint to the wierd people making over £15.00 profit or more per pint with no pumping required.

Actually shall we go on Dragon's Den with that one????

dragonbutter · 15/03/2009 00:17

Boffin, you are a genius.
it's not like they would take us to court for selling the wrong product. who'd want to admit to buying it.

we could hire big burly men to do the transaction by the phonebox so minimising risk to us.

BoffinMum · 15/03/2009 00:19

I am in then.

You see, that's the thing about crime. The normal rules of engagement don't apply so they can't exactly go to Trading Standards.

As it would be pasteurised the health risks to them would probably be lower, so we would be doing them a favour. You can't get AIDS or Hep B out of a doorstep milk bottle, as far as I know.

BoffinMum · 15/03/2009 00:21

Also it is still breast milk, it just happens to come from another species' breasts ...

dragonbutter · 15/03/2009 00:21

but it looks different in the fridge doesn't it.
we'd have to make sure it looked all watery with the stuff settled on the bottom.

treedelivery · 15/03/2009 00:22

Drop of lemon juice? Might just get a bit of seperation going.

BoffinMum · 15/03/2009 00:22

How would you do that then?

Dominique07 · 15/03/2009 00:23

She said she has extra milk. If DC cannot drink all she has then she is not doing anything wrong. If she can be bothered to pump it then...

BoffinMum · 15/03/2009 00:24

xposts
Nah, that would make it curdle.
I reckon add dried milk to half the sample and then top it up with watered down milk. However that might be bad for flavour.

We need Heston Blumenthal with us on this one.

BoffinMum · 15/03/2009 00:25

What about a soya/cow's milk hybrid?

treedelivery · 15/03/2009 00:26

See now there is a whole science project in this. My dd would love finding the answer to this perplexing question.

BoffinMum · 15/03/2009 00:27

Let us know if she finds an answer ... I am strangely thrilled at the thought of Duncan Bannantyne's face as we pitch this one.

treedelivery · 15/03/2009 00:28

..now where is that chemistry set I got for my 11th birthday...
