Mine didn't. They're still immense (far too large) - and everyone promised me they'd shrink...

mum2toby · 09/04/2003 12:57

Mine shrunk and I only breastfed for a week!!! I was small enough to begin with... hmph!

futurity · 09/04/2003 13:01

Don't get me started on this one! Originally 34B..then up to 38C when breastfeeding..then down to 36A when stopped feeding ds at 10 months. Now, after having lost a further 18lbs they are 34AA! I was a AA when I was a teenager!!! Lots of padded bras for me!

griffy · 09/04/2003 13:06

It seems to me - from this brief sample, and other conversations that the following rules apply:

If you want them to shrink they won't
If you want them to grow they'll shrink

i agree with most of you. mine ended up smaller, but a great idea is to use those chiken fillet things there great.no need to pay hundreds of pounds

I've just stopped bf after 6.5 months and can't wait for mine to go down... they're so ridiculously large that I'm sure I'm going to topple over!!!! Any advice on how to get rid of the milk without too much pain (I went down from 4 feeds to 2 feeds to no feeds but I still have so much milk)

Thanks!

jamsy · 09/04/2003 14:32

I had that problem and after a week an ex-midwife relative suggested drinking less water myself. That seemed to help a lot. Remember to up it again after the milk is gone though!

A quote from Ulrika Jonsson sticks in my mind - after b/f her tits now look like pitta breads...

I had trouble b/f from one boob, so not only are mine now deflated, they are also different sizes.

Do they get plump and jolly again when you are PG with dd/ds 2/3/4....etc?

Linzoid · 09/04/2003 16:30

Same for me, small just got smaller and saggy! Spaniels ears!!

Tetley · 09/04/2003 16:48

I've just stopped too, Pancake, also after 6 months. Day 3 now (last bf was Sunday night) - still painful, but I think they're softening (or it may be just wishful thinking!)

I went up a cup size in both of my pregnancies (B to C),then after ds1 went back to my pre-pregnant size. I'm now waiting to see what happens this time..... not pitta breads please - that sounds revolting!

Maudy · 09/04/2003 17:25

stopped feeding about 3 weeks ago and still have quite sore boobs. It feels as if the ducts are sore. Does anyone else have this?

futurity · 09/04/2003 17:43

Maudy: I had that and it took about 4 weeks for it to stop. Was rather uncomfortable for a while but it did go in the end

EmmaTMG · 09/04/2003 17:47

Can't comment on the after feeding issue as both my DS's were bottle fed but my boobs got conciderably smaller after each baby. I'm PG again now so I expect I'll be totally flat chested after this one as I will hopefully have more success on the breastfeeding front.
Smaller and can I also say SAGGY. They are like two flaps of skin and not in the least bit attractive.

zebra · 09/04/2003 21:13

I think mine are smaller, but DH hasn't commented (and he would) so probably they are the same (after 2 kids)....

XAusted · 10/04/2003 09:52

Any tips on where to get comfy bras in small sizes? I have mini boobs - 34AA - and it's difficult finding anything to fit. Have two from which fit quite well but are underwired and v uncomfortable. Also, shoulder straps slip all the time. I've tried looking at teenager bras but they have embarrassing designs and also the cups are always really close together, as if everyone has boobs right in the middle of their chest! If I ever find a nice comfy bra I will buy enough to last me for ever. I'm not bothered about being little - at least I'll never find my bust around my waist when I'm old and saggy(er).

Linnet · 11/04/2003 23:17

I breastfed dd for 10 weeks. while breastfeeding I was a 38D, if memory serves, it was a few years ago now. AFter I stopped my boobs were tiny and I was very pleased, have always been on the largish side for boobs so was very pleased with the outome. They were a bit saggy at first but after a few months they seemed to sort themselves out. settled at a 36C, but I then dropped a cup size or two almost every year until I was a 34C and they've stayed there. They don't seem to be incredibly saggy any more and I'm hoping after we have baby#2 that the same thing will happen again, of course now that I've typed that it won't because I've jinxed myself, lol

skerriesmum · 14/03/2004 01:50

right now (this is only four days after weaning) mine are rock hard! Like I have implants or something. They don't hurt though. I am not looking forward to small saggy boobs

tiktok · 14/03/2004 02:54

After stopping bf, many women find they are temporarily a bit deflated....then after some time (months, usually) the fat that used to be there (and which was replaced by milk making stuff in pregnancy...it has very little to do with bf, BTW) comes back. But it may not be the 100 per cent same as before...time does take its toll

handlemecarefully · 14/03/2004 11:14

Yes...Mine were smaller and saggier after dd.

I've promised myself a boob job after I've done procreating!

(Yeah, I know - superficial of me!)
