See most recent posts. I hope I am wrong about this, as I feel sick that someone could troll in this way.

Oh sorry! Yes that;s right. Sorry!

tiktok · 10/01/2009 18:20

Helen, I think you're obv well-motivated, and of course there is a small chance you may be right, and I will stop the crass jokes, but the give-away to me was the way jojo did not apologise for misleading people. Instead she made a stupid claim that she could 'prove' her cousin's story. As if.

Helen was JE's friend at Lowood (with the really bad cough, who was made to stand out in the snow....and died )

Tiktok I wasn't being personal to you, I can understand your suspicions and would have appreciated further clarification from jojo. But I suppose I saw her other posts and thought it seemed very much out of character.
So wanted to urge caution!

Yes, my 'really' was to Hercules' comment about war.

I am in Lowood guise atm. Feeling the 'fog-bred pestilence' a bit chez flight

hercules1 · 10/01/2009 18:27

Ah, I thought it was for the comment I made about your nickname!

I have hear that, yes. THe purpose is to stop the woman being able to feed her child.

HelenBurns · 10/01/2009 18:33

Oh God
how appalling.

What sort of world do we live in.

hercules1 · 10/01/2009 18:34

Far worse things happen to women on a daily basis in many countries in this world. If reincarnation is true then I would rather not be reborn as a woman.

Nancy66 · 10/01/2009 18:51

No you DONT always need to give people the benefit of the doubt for goodness sake, just use your common sense.

How many of you have friends/relatives that come to your house and ask if it's ok to log on and use an internet forum while they're there?

If a story seems too daft to be true then it probably is...

Notreallycutoutforthis · 10/01/2009 19:02

I can see the cousin responding that way though, and I spent time on a plastics ward where another patient had had this done to her by her own boyfriend. I can see someone reading the list of reasons why formula is second best might react strongly and quickly, without thinking how this might look. I'd say benefit of the doubt.

StealthPo09IsHere · 10/01/2009 19:04
Shock
Notreallycutoutforthis · 10/01/2009 19:05

Um, tiktok, maybe by 'prove' the story she's talking about supplying mnhq with a copy police report? I'm going to stick my head up and say I believe her, and am very for her cousin.

Notreallycutoutforthis · 10/01/2009 19:06

Arse, wrong thread, reposting...

TWINSETinapeartree · 10/01/2009 19:06

She posted something daft or allowed someone else to, lets not hound her off though.

SalLikesCoffee · 10/01/2009 19:40

I read it as sarcasm. Bad style of course, but she must have realised this when she blamed her cousin. Kind of trying to lie her way out of a hole and only making it worse? I think she just made a mistake and felt too embarrassed to own up. I know this goes against general feeling, but I feel a little sorry for her. She knows it's a mistake but didn't apologise immediately and now can't.

SalLikesCoffee · 10/01/2009 19:42

In the light of all her other nice messages (didn't search myself, but going on what was said here), I'd say let it go, it was a mistake.

TWINSETinapeartree · 10/01/2009 19:47

I agree Sal

tiktok · 10/01/2009 20:52

Not sure why she can't apologise - I'd be happy to forget about it if she did, and accept that we all f* up occasionally.

OP posts:
tiktok · 10/01/2009 20:52

Obv she'd have to apologise for the first post and then the cover up - so twice, but no big deal. Why not?

OP posts:
faeriemoo · 11/01/2009 00:00

tiktok, I read it with my heart in my mouth and nothing but sympathy for her and was also disgusted to read it had been made up.
I think it would have been more believable as a 'joke' if she had stated she was being sarcastic instead of playing the 'oh noes, someone else did it on my name' BS.

inscotland · 11/01/2009 09:37

So I have read both threads. It strikes me that if the cousin had completed her own registration or if there had been a name change this would all have kicked off just the same. She would have been classed a troll being her first post.

Having read jojos previous posts which seem very honest and appropriate I think what she has said is true and I really feel for the cousin.

I read getting proof to the MNHQ as being something to prove the incident happened rather than her cousin sitting at her pc.

I do feel that many of you have been too harsh and that we will now have no way of working out what happened. So if the story is true and you were the poster or her cousin or whoever there is no way you would ever come back to talk about things.

I hope however that I am not being taken for a fool.

purepurple · 11/01/2009 10:10

I did read the post as being sarcastic and an off the cuff remark, don't really see what all the fuss is about. It's an internet chat room, how can you really care what people say or do when you don't know them Adam? Tip: don't believe anything everything on the net.

oneyummymummy · 11/01/2009 10:46

What a horrible thing to say
(in the original thread of course)

solidgoldsoddingjanuaryagain · 11/01/2009 10:54

OH FFS someone made a tasteless remark in exasperation. Get over it.
