was shocked by the amount of bottle-feeders in hospital

found it quite upsetting at times. my bed was by the empties 'bottle bank', so saw how many people on the ward were bottle feeding. in the 4 days i was there, there were 10 women on the ward in total, and only myself and another lady was breastfeeding. The midwives offered help to everyone, but most decided on bottles.

the reason i found it upsetting was because i didnt want dd3 to have formula but that choice was basically taken away from me whilst she was SCBU and was given formula by tube.

You know some of you can be truly horrible. Why?

This thread wasn't about "breast is best" or "bottles are from hell" This was about the % of woman that don't breastfeed, an obversation!! nothing moe. Most Breastfeeding woman don't car how a baby is feed, and I have noticed that its that bottlefeeders that get the most defencive about this topic. Why??

i think its because some [and i dont mean you] but some people in my experience have judged me over it with my second child....never really noticed with dd1 but really did with dd2. its strange i know but some people really turned their noses up at me for not breast feeding.

Misdee and I were chatting about this yesterday and we said that breastfeeders are made to feel dirty, when breastfeeding in public (as there is always someone that disapproves) Misdee's DH told me that a woman was bf in town and another woman shouted at her and said that her children had beeen mentally scarred by this woman breastfeeding!! WTF!!
