I messaged them from a link on the site to report a listing in the 'wrong category', I actually suggested they removed it totally.

BumperliciousAteTooManyEggs · 27/03/2008 21:06

If you look int he blue ox you can report the ad. I have just said that is it inaccurate, dangerous and extremely offensive.

Reesie · 27/03/2008 21:07

This woman obviously has serious mental health issues. Infact she is absolutley fecking barking.

onepieceoflollipop · 27/03/2008 21:08

Oh I am and too - oh yes and addicted to breast feeding.

This person imo (I am an experienced mental health nurse) is either unwell or unstable.

I am shaking after reading that lot.

charliegal · 27/03/2008 21:09

Um, it's a hoax...these things are always hoaxes. Don't think anyone is seriously deranged enough to claim that breastfeeding is tantamount to paedophilia!

onepieceoflollipop · 27/03/2008 21:10

In fact what Reesie said just sums it up -"absolutely fecking barking" - not a phrase I use often in my professional life , but I couldn't have put it better myself!

BumperliciousAteTooManyEggs · 27/03/2008 21:10

doesn't matter if it is a hoax, there are still people reading it.

Bladee · 27/03/2008 21:10

barking mad

Washersaurus · 27/03/2008 21:13

Actually, after my mum did her degree she came away with similar ideas about it being a sexual act..although she has never once suggested bf is child abuse I must hastily point out.

Lulumama · 27/03/2008 21:14

it is not the first time that somoene has said breastfeeding is sexual, or for the mother's pleasure or weird or not normal/ natural

this just goes waaaaaaaay beyond that , but is on the same continuum

charliegal · 27/03/2008 21:22

Also, did you notice the classic 'if you must breastfeed, express and give it in a cup'! Still think this is a wind up, but someone always suggests this in 'extended' bfing threads.

flossish · 27/03/2008 21:24

sad individuals

hiccymapops · 27/03/2008 21:26

Just shown it to the hubby, who is livid!!!! He agrees, it doesn't matter if it is a hoax, it could still cause damage
He's reported it too, but don't think it'll do any good

Sickos

Poohbah · 27/03/2008 21:27

Haven't those degrees in womens studies all but closed down due to lack of interest??

Seriously, I have to know what degree that was so I can write to the Vice Cancellor and tell what shit is spouted in the name of acdemdia!

Washersaurus · 27/03/2008 21:35

I believe it was a degree in womens studies that my mum completed, but it was nearly 10 years ago!

BumperliciousAteTooManyEggs · 27/03/2008 21:39

more here. It is a hoax, but really, what differentiates it from real anti-bfing propaganda? It's awful that people might actually read this. Including bfing mothers already struggling with their feelings, both physical and emotional, over bfing. It's fucking dangerous, ironic hoax or not.

Flibbertyjibbet · 27/03/2008 21:46

So is there just me and washersaurus rofl-ing then?
And my dp who for once was allowed to read mn over my shoulder. Don't feed the hand that bites you ladies, just walk away, walk away.

Poohbah · 27/03/2008 21:56

I knew it..
womens studies..feminism..breastfeeding's best friend.

Yes, I think this is best ignored and is funny as long as it's not malicious. How do we know though?

Bouncingturtle · 28/03/2008 07:42

The problem is there will be people who will take it seriously - this is very damaging, as breastfeeding in the Westernised world is still not seen is normal by many people. Hence why the low breastfeeding rates! As someone said on that forum that Bumperlicious pointed us to, the claims made on that ad are close to those espoused by the genuine anti-bfing brigade.
It is quite funny though to those well informed but sadly there is not enough of us about - so I don't think there is anything wrong if some people find it funny.
I've also asked for it to removed.

I don't agree that it's too much of a problem - or if there is there's nothing that can be done. One of the hazards of the web is that any nut can post anything and go mostly uncensored. If someone is looking for this kind of rubbish they may come across it I suppose but if they are looking for breasstfeeding help, benefits etc they won't find it, nor will it be linked to from any 'proper' sites (healthcare, local authority etc). I think from reading a thread on here a while ago that Facebook has an antibf group. It's inevitable.

TrinityTheProgressingRhino · 28/03/2008 08:30

I would say that we need to campaign against pro anna sites more than this

just meaning that there are some far worse scary things on the net.

btw the page wont load for me

BabiesEverywhere · 28/03/2008 08:35

Thanks ImPinkThereforeImSpam and BumperliciousAteTooManyEggs for pointing out this is a hoax.

I was emailed this last week and assumed it was either a joke or a nutter and either way warranted deleting.

I think the saddest thing about this hoax, is that there actually is sick people out there, who do think like this about breastfeeding

determination · 28/03/2008 08:40

Isnt this a prank?

Look here

StealthPolarBear · 28/03/2008 08:50

Can't this Alan Abel be prosecutted for something? Or have his internet connection snipped?
