Finally found the link I was looking for!

it was in the Sunday Mirror

I emailed Cow & Gate about it, albeit in a slightly misleading manner, but - here is their reply:

"Thank you for contacting us.
We were contacted by the Sunday Mirror for an article about our ready made formulas and our powdered formulas so hopefully I can answer the questions for you. They were asking about our full range of formulas so all the milks were involved.
Our labels are accurate and in line with Govt advice laid down to us. We also provide approximate guidelines amount not exact volumes since all babies are different and feed at different rates....."

I'm in quite an odd position on this area of the board as i am a pro breastfeeder who has never breastfed ! and it is only recently i have got political about breastfeeding.

re converting women to breastfeeding or encouraging relactation or reverting from mix to exclusive breastfeeding.....

i wish someone had taken the time to try to convert me

i had no real life breastfeeding support , nor any idea of where to find help

the subtle advertising of formula, slogans on teh tins, the intimation it is really almost the same as breastfeeding must have got through to me.. and many, many other women

until we challenge the advertising of formula which by it's very nature undermines breastfeeding and challenge the semantics of the lables, slogans , logos etc , then women will continue to bottlefeed, without making an informed choice.

i have no issue at all with formula feeding per se, but i do have an isue with the notion it is as good as or even better than breastfeeding

i have never seen evidence of militancy , aggresive conversion to breastfeeding, or rampant criticism of bottle feeding,

i have seen passionate and articuate women citing important and compelling research and personal reasons why breastfeeding is a Good Thing.

if that offends or bothers you, then this section ot he board will not be for you

we are lucky that posters like tiktok, hunker ( when she is around, gawd bless her) and others take teh time to post advice to women struggling with breastfeeding.
