Anyone taken maxalon?

I think the domperidone has stopped working and am desperate to continue bfing.

My bf counsellor is thinking about maxalon but says there's an increased risk of PND which i'm on the brink of with my milk problems but would be interested in other's experiences before i discuss this further with my BFC midweek

Have you tried herbal tinctures or teas?

Tis beyond that 'determination' but thanks for the suggestion.

yes I have. I am on fenugreek

Have you tried the concentrated tinctures? Which contain..
goat's rue, fenugreek seed, blessed thistle, nettle leaf, fennel seed

If not i would definately give them a try. With my dd1 i took fenugreek capsules on there own and didnt notice much of a difference. Then with dd2 i took special blend and was totally engorged and ended up with mastitis it had such a HUGE effect on my supply.

I've ordered the More Milk special blend this morning to see if it works. I take Fenugreek and Domperidone and was going to get Fennel tea and milk thistle but see that this stuff has them in it anyway so will try that first. Have emailed them to ask them if they'll post it out today so I hope to have it tomorrow or Wednesday.

How soon did oyu notice a difference

I noticed a difference within 24 - 30 hours.. but be very careful with it... i got mastitis twice and i think this was the sole reason... i was MAJORLY over-producing and continued taking the stuff ... stupidly.

I've had an email from them and they're posting it out today to me.

I've tried everything so this is a last ditch attempt- fingers crossed

How old was oyur lo when you started taking it? Mine is 17 weeks- perhaps I'm too far along for them to work

no your not Pixie. My dd was only weeks but there was a MASSIVE difference and like i said i ended up getting mastitis TWICE as i was majorly over-producing. As long as your stimulating your breasts often enough 8/24 it should deffinately work. My letdown was so so powerful when i was taking it that i thought my breasts were going to pop! then the milk would start Spraying everywhere - literally. I would soak people sitting next to me!!

Once you start taking it i found that psychologically i became addicted. Believing that i would not produce without it. But i did.

Great Stuff, I found the service from BFing Heaven brilliant. I bought the tinctures, lilypadz, baba sling, tops, heavenly pads and lansinoh pads from them and have always recieved them next day. Think i might be addicted to the site!!

Would be good to see if you have the same effect as i did.. without the mastitis as your pre=warned!

pixie, what doseage of domperidone were you taking before it stopped working and what results did you get with it?

I was on the maximum 3 tablets 3 times a day and then becasue dd2 was putting on weight they told me to reduce my dose by one tablet every 3 days which i did until I was on 3,2,2 and then it all crashed so I'm back on the full 3,3,3 plus 3 fenugreek 3 times a day

What age is your dd?

18 weeks. I've been on the domperidone since she was about 4 weeks

Pixie, out of curiosity do you have PCOS?
