Will I be reported if I refused to put Callum on formula??

The SCBU nurse just phoned me and said that if Callum hasn't gained weight in 2 weeks, I have to put him onto formula. Apparently the consultant has said this.
I have 30 bottles of high engery formula here which I still haven't given to him (am supposed to topup with 30ml once a day via the feeding tube) but I really really don't want him to have formula...
If we refuse, will be reported to SS for not doing the right thing??

he has EBM topups because he doesn't gain when solely breastfeeding. He can BF, but doesn't seem to take enough.

Am in Welwyn/hatfield starlight

Spoke to my mum today and she said that as a baby I didn't put on the weight as I should have done. She didn't take me to weighed as much as she should have done, because the HV would be on her case all the time. my parents were reported to SS for not feeding me All through school until I left at 16, my parents were hassled about my weight, I remember at 16 having a health check and the nurse complaining that I had grown but hadn't put on weight, she then phoned my dad and said that I wasn't eaten.
I must get hold of my notes and show the SCBU that Callum could just take after me and have a very high metabolism.

sparkly, contraption is on its way, in case you want it.

Echoing others, 5oz is fine. 5-7oz is average weekly weight gain for bf babies (kellymom). ds1 averaged more like 3 or 4, and was still fine and healthy. OK, he was term, but he was and always has been pretty light.

berolina · 24/11/2007 16:34

Goodness, I'm so glad for a sensible paed. ds1 has made his happy home at the bottom of the weight charts and hanging off the bottom of the height ones. And is happy and full of energy and never ill and speaking in full sentences in two languages at 2.6 and just small. As, indeed, was his equally healthy dad - who was approached at age 9 or so by someone from his estate and asked 'aren't you little so-and-so from kindergarten?'

sparklygothkat · 24/11/2007 20:32

yes misdee and mum and dad were accused of feeding you 3 but not me

the only problem we have is callum doesn't gain weight at all without the top-ups, with them he gains 5oz.
