Hipp Organic New Recipe

Just wondered if anyone's baby who is on Hipp Organic has started on the new recipe boxes yet?

My lo will no longer take this milk, the new recipe smells and tastes horrendous compared to before and we are now waking up during the night and screaming through bottles.

I think we are going to have to move formulas, I've tried to persevere with it for a few days to see if he gets used to the taste but he's having none of it!

I've only just started to see the new recipe boxes in the larger supermarket so I'm not sure how many people will have moved onto it yet but interested to see if anyone else has had the same issue!

Hi @Maxamill thanks so much for replying. Yeah i see what you mean as my little one sometimes has looser ones and pastier ones depending how much breastmilk she's also had.

How long has your baby been on Kendamil?

Aw im so glad he's thriving on it. I really hope my daughter also starts enjoying her bottles. Literally one day she just refused to drink her milk and would even pull a disgusted face (which so far she hasn't with Kendamil). I'm really hoping this is it. It smells so delicious!

Plus, thank you for the tip. I noticed it does go frothy so will do what i used to with aptamil. Just swirl it round to dissolve the formula. Thanks again 😊

@MarEusReyes he's been on Kendamil for about 6/7 weeks now!

It's so hard with formula as every baby is different and will take to different things better but I do hope you get some success with it!

OMG I thought I was going crazy !!!! I'm so so angry at these guys for the recipe change. I requested a refund from Sainsbury. The taste is horrendous! WTF? What are people supposed to do? We were really happy with HIPP ... now we'll have to change .... but the other organic ones are really difficult to get ... GRRR !!!! (angry mama* !!!)

Fornorah · 01/06/2020 16:22

The taste and composition has changed a lot and it has really upset my baby! We can't even do anything about it!

Sandrine1982 · 02/06/2020 10:32

We've ordered Kendamil and it's arriving today.
I hope our baby takes it well.
Will let you know how it goes ...

I've not seen any of the new stuff where I live (big city in Scotland). I've been buying a couple every week just so we have a good supply! My baby is 5 months and I'm hoping by the time he's 6 months and weaning he won't notice as much as he'll be used to other tastes. Fingers crossed anyway!

Sandrine1982 · 08/06/2020 10:30

So we've changed to Kendamil, it's got a really nice taste and baby took to it really well. I've got the impression that she drinks even slightly more than before, by about 20ml. We still use the Hipp ready made bottles every now and then but the powder now has a really vile taste we've ditched that...

laurmill · 08/06/2020 20:48

When changing to Kendamil did you go for the organic or the normal? I thought I have been going mad with my little one and the new recipe changes. Was on SMA AR and then stopped liking that due to the changes, moved to HIPP AR (old) and was great taking all bottles, taking a lot more milk and more settled, changed to new recipe and refusing to feed ect. Will get Kendamil tomorrow morning but wondering what one people went for.

Maxamill · 09/06/2020 09:18

@laurmill I just went for the normal Kendamil and have it on subscription so they just get delivered every month free of charge

Hi,

If anyone uses and gets on well with the new HIPP organic recipe I am happy to post a box and a half to you. All unopened and stored well. Bought in March during early lockdown.

Just cover postage 😊 xx

Hi. We went for the Kendamil Organic and loving it so far. The taste is lovely. Baby very happy :-)

BabEmama · 21/08/2020 16:39

Hi. I know this is an old thread but had something to add lol. My baby did great on hipp after aptamil caused severe constipation. Until they changed the recipe. We found out that the stage 3 milk was still the same, so as baby was nearly one, we switched him. But we have just bought a tub of stage 3 and they have now also changed that recipe too, to contain fish oil. My baby has had explosive diarrhoea. Every bottle is literally going straight through him. I’ve had to shower him off twice today!!! I emailed hipp because I was so angry. And they said that although it wasn’t a legal requirement to have fish oil milk for stage 3 milk, they decided to change it anyway!!??? They gave me a load of big words about the health benefits, and said that my baby would get used to it!! I am not prepared to leave my child in agony with belly ache, sh*tting through the eye of a needle!! He will loose weight for a start. He’s already off his food because of this.
After looking it up, fish oil is not very good for people. There was a petition in 2016 to remove it from formulas because it made babies violently ill. I feel awful for even giving it to my child. It’s like he’s being poisoned by his milk!!! I read further up in the threat about a different type of milk that doesn’t contain palm oil, fish oil and all the other crap hipp has now ruined their milk with. How have people got on with kendamil? Also what’s the best way to buy it. I saw Asda sell it. And it’s only £9. But their website says £12. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Side note, Tesco seem to have pulled all the un-changed hipp stage 3 from the shelves. But I managed to get 2 boxes from boots. So am ok for now. But am gonna need a replacement pretty soon. Thank U 😊

Fornorah · 21/08/2020 18:09

Hi babemama ilI totally understand what you have mentioned.
I have analysed stage 2 and stage 3 milks and they did not change. And the ready to drink cartons are made in France instead of Germany so they have not changed.
I tried everything but recently have seen most supermarkets have stage one old cartons available even though few months back all were changed to new. An you have a look around and see?
Also are you not keen to put your baby on cows milk now after 1? My DD is soon turning one but I don't know how to switch .
I know fish oil causes reflux and all sorts of issues. I called hipp and they said same that baby will get used to it. It's all marketing !!

Maxamill · 22/08/2020 19:20

Hi @BabEmama I've used Kendamil since i started the thread pretty much.
I order off the website on subscription so it just gets delivered every month with no delivery fee.
I get stage 1 so unsure on the stage 3 price but I've never seen a price difference between in store and online? There are two different types though, one is organic which is a little bit more and one isn't organic which is the £9. We don't get the organic one and it's still perfect, plus knowing it's all made from free range cattle etc makes me happier.

I cannot believe that other companies are continuing to use fish oils knowing how ill they make babies, I know some can be fine with it but there's a lot that aren't.

Hope you manage to find an alternative! As @Fornorah said if your baby is over 1 you can make the switch to cows milk x
