lets start a new thread ...whats good about breastfeeding
to cheer us struggling ones up

you have one hand free so you can type on mn while bf allday lol
you get to get out of doing stuff u dont wanna do cuz your bf baby

please add more

When DD is tired or whingey then a quick 2 minute BF fixes her mood like magic and gives her enough energy to carry on for another half hour.

Also that they really really love it and approach it with such enthusiasm and excitement.

The way that when you try to give them a bottle for the first time they spit it out and screw up their little faces. Then you can say to all the hopeful would be babysitters ("oh just leave him with me for an hour or ten, it'll be no trouble!") that you're terribly sorry, but he won't take a bottle.

I love breastfeeding because...
1.Now my little wriggler has started to crawl its the only chance i get to cuddle him!
2. I love the way he stares into my eyes and strokes my arm or face when he's feeding
3. We can co-sleep and i can relax knowing hes safe next to his mummy and he can have food any time he wants
4. I feel part of a continuum (sp?) of mothers across generations who are nurturing their babies (sorry - that sounds very woolly - i'll just go and weave some lentils!)
5. It is something i can give him that no-one else can
6. nothing else can soothe him as fast after he's bumped his head or had an injection
7. He is so funny and sometimes blows a huge raspberry instead of suckling and then looks up, gives me a cheeky grin and starts giggling!
8. i just think its brilliant!!!!

It makes my busy brain stop fretting away at things and I just sit and look at him and don't think about anything at all.

Singing, sex, gardening etc. also do this for me but I've never done those at least 6 times a day for a year!
