Periods and BF!!

My baby is now 12 weeks and I'm BF, I know they say that because of the BF, periods take longer to start agin but HOW LONG?!! is it normal to have not started them again yet? x x

dd3 will be 7 months this week and still no return for mine - and I stopped bfeeding about 2 weeks ago

I have LOVED her newborn stage

but they are hilarious at this age

mine came back last week my dd is 11months & 1 week still bf 3-4 times a day
but i think i'm lucky

DS2 is 10mo and no sign of mine. Maybe I'm pg though.

Mine returned when dd was 8 1/2 months, 2 weeks after I (mostly) stopped night feeding. No idea if they'll be regular yet though - next one due any day if they are!

I've been feeling uneasy today, for no good reason. Bit crampy, etc - will be very glad if it is a period! Otherwise, you'll hear the screams from your house, I think!

mine would hve come back at 9 months after dd if i hadn't gotton myself knocked up again.

ds is 17 eeks and am not even expecting them for a fair while.

should add i stopped feeding dd during the night at 6 months but won't be doing that this time so may take longer again

Oh hunker - do you not want another then, or just not yet? We've just decided to start trying again, and my DD is a couple of weeks younger than your DS, although we do only have the one at the mo.

I have a 2.7yo and a 10mo - I don't want another one just yet, if ever!

(Actually, I'd love four, but we can't afford it.)

I haven't breastfed DS during the night since he was 10 days old. He's now four months and still no period. And there is NO chance I could be pregnant.

Mine started again 12th September, DD was exactley 6 months old

my ds is 14 months and no sign of my AF. but he still nurses A LOT a night. [sleepy emoticon]

I stopped feeding my dd during the night at 6 months and my periods didnt start again until she was 9 months old. 12 weeks is definately nothing to worry about.

my dd is 8 months and no sign of them returning at the moment. purplemonkey how long has yr little 1 not been sleeping through night for. my dd slept through until we moved and now wakes 3 or 4 times a night and feeds for 10 to 15 mins at a time.

Never heard it before that they come back if you stop the night feeds. With ds they came back after 4 months and he was still having loads of nightfeeds AND I was a full time stay at home mum. Dd was 10 months when they came back and she didn't have night feeds AND I had been at work full time since she was 5 months! So I don't know what makes your periods come back exactly, but somehow I've got a feeling that frequency of feeding isn't the only factor.

I posted the exact same qustion as about week 12 too!
My LO is now 22 weeks and still no AF and shes started solids now so BF loads less! Even did PG test!
