Recurring blocked ducts - struggling to keep going

Hi I've had blocked ducts every week or so since my LO was 6 weeks and sleeping longer at night - now 12 weeks old. They always clear after a day or two and never got infected so far but leave me exhausted and feeling sick.

I really want to carry on breastfeeding but am finding it hard as every time I start to feel better I seem to get blocked again. I'm doing everything I can to treat and prevent them but feel like there's no end in sight to it.

Has anyone else had recurring blocked ducts and if so how long did they keep coming back for? I'm also worried that if I get to 6 months It will happen again with weaning!

Have you spoken to [[http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/breastfeeding-help-support.aspx#close a BFC]] obiwan?

Have you seen the Kellymom page on recurrent blocked ducts ? It has lots of suggestions of things you could try.

I suffered with recurrent blocked ducts with DS1, though not quite as frequently as you. They basically stopped after he was 5ish mo. I did get the odd one afterwards, but they cleared more easily, and I never ran a temperature and generally felt rubbish like I did with the early ones. Things will not necessarily be the same for you, but it does show it won't necessarily continue the whole time you are feeding.

Thanks, I had read the kellymom page and am basically trying all of what she suggests! Baby is now feeding every 3 hours at fairly set times of day.

I've had a couple of blebs but on the opposite breast to the one that keeps getting blocked. I also get softer lumps which aren't painful but don't go through feeding and expressing for a day or so. Any ideas what these are?
