DS won't take expressed bottle. Help!!

For various reasons I would like my DS to be able to take an expressed bottle. My DD took an expressed bottle from 4 weeks without any bother.
Can anyone give me any tips, I've tried different times of the day, different brands of teat tommie tippee, avent, dr.brown. Different members of the family giving the bottle n nothing works. He just gets so upset n I have to go back to BF.
I adore BF and have no plans to stop until he's at least 6 months but the thought I'm not gonna get any help with feeding for the next 4/5 months is Hmm.

Hi liveinthepresent, you should try amazon for the latex teats - I think they also have them in mothercare if you have one near you. I know you can't get them in boots, tesco, sainsburys so don't bother looking there.
Other bottle I had some success with was a nuby one.

Are you on the wide neck teat or the narrow one? The narrow 0-6 I've found just pours out of his mouth, the other is much better xx

Thanks both - I am being really dim!!
I have this bottle -
www.amazon.co.uk/NUK-First-Choice-Feeding-Bottle/dp/B0065F4WEY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384207334&sr=8-1&keywords=NUK&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21
It is latex but I think it's the wide one?
I am not sure the amazon wording is right as it seems the same on different bottles.
Have looked n NUK website but remain a bit baffled.

Thats the wide one so flow should be ok, maybe it's pooling because she hasnt quite got the knack of suckling it properly.

No success with NUK or Playtex here.
Starting to get really anxious as I have to leave DS with DH for KIT days at work in the next few weeks - which is hard enough without him not eating anything.
Where do I go from here - and does anyone know how often we need to keep trying?

Watching with interest - living I am having the same problem with my 12 week old DD...just bought nuk bottle, first choice one with medium flow teat which it came with - is this the same as you got, and no success?

I tried the nuk again yesterday, no success - she had the teat in her mouth without crying but just screwed her face up and did nothing with it!
Only thing I haven't tried is breastflow bottles - they are expensive though and only on the Internet or some mothercare stores.

I tried really hard with ds when he was a few months old. nothing. He did, however drink enough hopefully out of a little cup when I did my KIT days. I would try an open cup if none of the bottles are working, just make sure to have a bib/muslin handy!!

Weirdly though (especially given how much I used to worry) I randomly gave him a bottle a few weeks ago 'just to see' and he downed it. He is 8 months now.

Hi islingtongirl yes I think that is the one - I haven't ordered a slower teat yet as not sure it is worth it

Interestingly as sausages says DH has had most success with cups so I may pursue that option first.

Does anyone have any advice on how often we should try and is he more or less likely to take it from me than DH?
I also read I think that he would be more likely to take it at night / after sleep - cant work out if this is worth the effort or whether he won't remember and still won't take it during the day.

sausages good to know the refusing isn't permanent.

We were told to choose one feed a day to show routine.
