I would like a balloon, little flag or at last a pat on the back

After a rocky start to breastfeeding, and only managing to latch and feed for 8 weeks, we have made it to week 28 by expressing. Aside from a couple of formula top ups in hospital, EBF!

I just wanted to say something as let's face it, no one in real life is going to give a monkeys Grin

It has been bloomin' hard work!! Between expressing, heart wrenching colic and silent reflux and the still very fragmented sleep at night, I don't think I'll be having another child!

As you were Smile

Have a special cheerleading emoticon from me.

Have a balloon, a flag and a pat on the back! As someone who expressed for 5 weeks with DD1 before she learned to latch on, and 3 weeks with DD2, I know how exhausting it is. Bloody well done Sleepybunny you are a star!!

A very big pat on the back. I know how hard EBF by expressing is and you've done brilliantly. You should be very proud of the great start you've given your LO against the odds.

Thank you so much! DH was a bit Hmm when I mentioned we'd survived 6 months. Don't think he quite gets how I was feeling.

I'm not sure where our milk feeding journey goes from here. DDs demands have dropped a bit since the last growth spurt and now she is taking more solids. So it's been a bit easier this past week.
I'd love to do a whole year, but that seems a bit daunting! For now I think I'd just take each day as it comes and see where we end up.

You are amazing!!

I have found bf'ing hard work (tt, latch problems, thrush)and only now really getting to grips with it at 9 weeks. I express from time to time and find it a huge faff and I dread it tbh. So to have kept going like you have makes you a total star in my books!

KnittedC · 25/05/2013 19:07

Well done you, a real achievement. You deserve a medal, flag, balloon etc but mostly a massive slab of cake xx

Velve · 25/05/2013 19:14

Teladi · 25/05/2013 19:29

WELL DONE! I know exactly how hard it is, you are a superstar!

Anjou · 25/05/2013 19:47

WOW! That is seriously impressive and you have every right to be extremely proud of yourself. Have a flag, a balloon, a medal, a t shirt and some fancy chocolate. Tell every mum you know who has struggled with breast feeding and/or expressing and then sit back while they buy you a pint of wine. Grin
