lazza we're the same, naps every 2-2.5 hours as he never wakes at the same time in the morn or naps for the same amount of time. I can get a decent nap out of him in the afternoon but only if he naps on me!! Means I can't do much!

It seems to work for us although he is off to MILs this aft so he won't nap as she doesn't let him

lazzaroo · 13/06/2013 21:15

Not just us then larle. she has wanted to sleep longer in the afternoons but usually only manages it by feeding back to sleep. I was out for a bit today so she didn't have that option! She's only had 4 45 min naps today (since 4.50!) so will see if that makes any difference tonight....I very much doubt it. I am debating now whether to bother going to sleep or not...I came to bed early last night and she woke approximately 4mins after my head hit the pillow...How do they know?!?

abi2790 · 13/06/2013 21:31

Today has been another stressful day. Ds seems so tired all the time which makes him grumpy then leads to me being a bitch shouty towards dp. Poor dp!

Ds has just settled after a couple of transfer fails. Fingers crossed he's settled for the night!

OP posts:
lazzaroo · 14/06/2013 00:22

Up for first feed....which is good for us! And has been in cot since going to sleep at 7pm. Had to settle her a few times between then and 9.30, but no milk till now. If I can get her back in cot after this feed it'll be a miracle! But I'll try!

abi2790 · 14/06/2013 05:33

Ds was up at 12 and 5 which is quite good for. My eyes are really stingy though so it's taking me ages to write this post. We might have been back to sleep by now if ds hadn't dome the biggest poo ever!

OP posts:
lazzaroo · 14/06/2013 06:40

Well, managed in her cot till 4am! And with only 2 feeds Smile it's all gone a bit pear shaped since then but it's an improvement! She woke at 4am and snoozed in bed with me till 4.50am (again!). Got up with her and she's just gone back to sleep. I should probably try re-settling her straight away at 5am but never have the energy!

If better sleep was due to less daytime sleep then I'll have a dilemma today! I'm rubbish at waking a sleeping baby....especially when I'm so tired! And she was more grumpy than normal yesterday afternoon having had less sleep. Is that the trade off? Grumpy baby for more sleep?!

larlemucker · 14/06/2013 20:44

Picked up baby larles christening gown today, made me cry! It's so beautiful! It's been made from my wedding dress, very traditional with a little bonnet! Can't wait, hope it stays dry

abi2790 · 14/06/2013 22:08

My poor boy isn't happy at all tonight. 4 times he's woken up crying his heart out. I've tried settling him without feeding and I rocked him to sleep once but he woke when I put him in the cot. I also managed to help him settle himself at one point but he woke about 10 minutes later. I really don't know what's wrong him. He does cry when he wakes but he's happy once he see's me but tonight he just keeps crying. He's even crying whilst on my boob. I found a soft lump on his head this morning so now I'm panicking it's something to do with that even though I know it's probably nothing.

SoYo · 15/06/2013 01:55

Larle the christening gown sounds wonderful, I really must organise our christening at some point!

Abi I'm sure you're right & it's nothing but why not pop to the GP on Monday so they can check it out & reassure you?

Madam is saving a bit of a regression sleep wise again at the moment both in terms of getting to sleep & number & timing f wakes. I'm shattered & very stingy eyed. I'm so hoping it'll get better soon.

Anypants · 15/06/2013 03:07

FFS.
DD is worse than ever.
Finally got her to sleep at 8.45 after a small amount of screamyness. DH gets home about 10.30 (long day at work? Tell me about it...) and madam decides to kick off. After 20 mins of pointless shhhhhhhhing I give in and feed her. I give her half an hour and she's zonked out. Put her down and 10 mins go by before she's screaming again. Maybe wind? Try in vain to release trapped wind for a while and keep putting her down - 5 mins of 'sleep' then scream city, with her eyes closed. I changed her and she let out a big old fart so I put her down again asleep by 12.00. Now she's up again feeding, but she's windy again and has been fidgeting on the boob for 10 mins.
Worst night so far. And I thought they were starting to get better. Envy

ccridersuz · 15/06/2013 03:27

Hi girls, I was wondering if you all have any help during the day in order for you to get a few extra hours sleep?
Do not be afraid of asking, believe me it is worth it.
I had twins for my sins and sis was more than happy to come and babysit for a couple of hours.

lazzaroo · 15/06/2013 09:43

Usual night. Sorry you had bad night any, is she weaning? Could it be the effect of new foods on her tummy? I wonder if that is disturbing my DD sometimes. But then again, her sleep was bad before weaning! I'm just desperately trying to find a reason!

DD was up at 5.40. A lie in for us! Went back down for nap at 7.30 and is still asleep. Over 2 hours! I should probably wake her?! But she must need it?! Will probably pay for it tonight.

At least DH home now so he got up this morning while I had a lie in.

Anypants · 15/06/2013 18:13

Not weaning yet lazza - she's jyst coming up to 4 months. The awful night seems to have been down to a stinking cold. She's been sicky and snotty all day so am not looking forward to tonight Sad

larlemucker · 16/06/2013 07:22

Wow no messages all night, hope that means everyone has slept.

It's baby larles big day today!!!

Anypants · 16/06/2013 11:21

Have a great day larle - I hope baby larle laps up all the attention and gets completely worn out so you all get a good night's sleep tonight Grin

lazzaroo · 16/06/2013 14:38

Hope you've had a good day larle. last night was same as usual, with added bonus of dd1 waking too! Dd2 woke at 4.50am but DH settled her by 5am and put her down in the pushchair instead of cot....she slept till 7.30! what's that all about!

She's currently having a mammoth nap too. I just can't work her out!

abi2790 · 16/06/2013 20:09

Hi ladies. Well Ds has slept through for the past 2 nights. This is still with 2 wakings and lots of screaming up until 9 pm but after that he has been sleeping until 7. I have been trying to cut out one of his night feeds which is why he's been getting so upset but I have to try something as he is literally feeding non-stop from 6 up until 9 with a couple of transfer fails inbetween. I'm definitely not going to complain about the 10 hour stints though!

Hope you both had a great day larle.

Fantastic day, we're all knackered!! Baby larle was really good in church and didn't cry and looked amazing in his gown.

We are overwhelmed by the amount of presents he got. Loads of cake left over so anyone want some christening cake? Lemon sponge or Victoria sponge?

abi2790 · 16/06/2013 21:20

Glad you had a great day larle. Lemon Sponge for me please Grin!

DP woke DS up... Arrrggghhh!!!

OP posts:
Anypants · 16/06/2013 23:34

Vic sponge please. Got WW tomorrow but it's been a rotten week so it's not going to matter Confused

larlemucker · 17/06/2013 03:43

Ww on weds for me, got a house full of cake and quiche so it won't go well!!

abi2790 · 17/06/2013 04:23

First feed here. I left him in his cot for a while to self-settle but he was having none of it! If I wasn't so tired I might have tried rovking him to sleep but instead I've decided to feed to sleep. Much quicker!

MrsNPattz · 17/06/2013 13:08

Hey guys, just thought I would check in as it's been a while!! I fell off the thread due to co sleeping - I couldn't keep up! Lol nights are still the same for us, but co sleeping is making it much easier for me to cope with. And I have to admit I love my little man snuggles!! He's a poorly boy at the moment, got a really chesty cough so taking him to the docs later.

I'm now a fully qualified WW leader and breast feeding peer supporter! May was an absolutely mad month with training for both running along side each other, but I'm not starting either properly until Sept so I have a bit of a breather now. Just had my WW new leader kit delivered - 38 boxes!!

I hope you are all doing ok xx

larlemucker · 17/06/2013 14:30

Hey MrsN we missed you!!
Have some christening cake

We're co-sleeping too, still feeding every 3 hours but we are both getting loads more sleep and baby larle seems happier too.

Congrats on becoming a ww leader and bf supporter!! Sounds like you've been really busy.
Glad you're ok and hope your little man is better soon

SoYo · 17/06/2013 15:40

Hi MrsN glad to have you back.

I'm so jealous of you both that co-sleeping is working for you. I like it & was really hopeful it would make sleeping better but madam just seems to only settle in bed with me if she's grazing on the boob & cat naps in between but never more than an hour between feeds, plus she spends a lot of time punching and kicking me!

Larle I'm glad the christening was a lovely day, I really need to organise ours at some point but I think my DM is going to have the same problems with the guest list for that as she did with our wedding!

I really need to stop going to the supermarket when I'm hungry. Today I'm mostly grazing on jam doughnuts, choccy biscuits (3 different types) and giant white choc buttons and also frowning at my flabby apron belly. Dieting is too hard when you're sleep deprived!
