Evening all.

Madam is having a snuffly feed. Back is bad so feeding is painful. Massive temptation to feed lying down but that will lead to co-sleeping which will mean I won't move all night so back will be worse. Hmm

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 01/06/2013 03:45

We're back at the GP's again this weekend. It's great, I get looked after and have all my meals cooked by my DF and my DM will happily relieve me from DS!
After an awful evening with DS screaming my DM quickly worked out that the poor lad had wind. He must have been in so much pain as I've never seen him so upset, it broke my heart, and he brought up the biggest burp I've ever heard!
After that DM did a fantastic job of settling him and managed to get him asleep in his basket by about 11pm and he's just woken for his first night feed! Smile
Go on lad, give mummy another 4 hours again!!

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 01/06/2013 05:15

Oh dear, up again already! Hmm

abi2790 · 01/06/2013 05:48

It's horrible when they can't get their wind up isn't it ifatfirst?-Ds used to get really windy when he was much younger ans cried for hours. He now usually just pukes all over me and he's fine!

He finally settled properly around 10:30 and has just woken up. Considering his tooth seems to be bothering him I thought we might have been up all night but 7ish hours is great Grin.

Not jealous at all abi!!!

We were up again an hour and a half after putting baby larle in cot, he really wasn't happy in there last night and wouldn't transfer. So ended up co-sleeping again.

Sun is shining here, hope its nice where you are

larlemucker · 02/06/2013 03:36

Hello!!!!!! Anybody there?????

SoYo · 02/06/2013 04:09

Hi Larle, you can always rely on us to be here! 2nd feed!

We took madam to a party yesterday & she got very distracted & went 3.5hrs between feeds. Fed her in the car before coming the 1.5hr drive home but she screamed like a banshee in the car so ad a few stops & it was 11.30 before we got home so half past midnight before getting her into bed. I had secret hopes that the party, screaming, journey, late bed etc might make for longer sleeps but no, standard times.

I'm also getting very fed up of the "isn't she sleeping through yet, oh, all mine were at that age" brigade. Not helpful!

abi2790 · 02/06/2013 06:27

Morning ladies.

Soyo those sorts of comments make me want to punch people haha. People say "you need a routine and he will sleep through". I couldn't have him in more of a routine!!

We are now moved into our new home Smile. I was expecting Ds to sleep terribly as I didn't get to bath him until 7:30 but he only woke up once. He's still asleep now but I can't sleep Sad.

soyo we were at a baby group on Wednesday, talking to a mum who said shamefacedly and slightly defensively that her son was a bad sleeper. I cheerfully replied that BG had never slept through in his 10-month life, at which point she looked SO grateful, and said, "oh, I thought everyone else's baby sleeps through by now - I always get told how good they are at sleeping!"
At which point we both decided that everyone is lying!!!! Grin

Last four nights have been better. Still feeding but settling much quicker afterwards. Now if we can just sort the 5 am start to the day... Hmm

larlemucker · 02/06/2013 07:14

Well I'm currently conducting an experiment. Last night baby larle was in our bed all night and he woke 3 times, fed twice.
Tonight in going to put him in his cot and see how he sleeps. If worse I'm buying a bed guard and keeping him in with me!!

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 02/06/2013 09:24

Another good night!
DS fell asleep on my DM at about 8pm and slept until 11:30. Big feed, quick nappy change and he was straight back in his Moses basket and slept until 4:50am! As usual, as the room was now full of light he took it as a cue to have a play (cooing at the curtains and smiling at the shadows Grin)
After his feed we put him in our bed as he was far too awake to settle in his basket and he nodded off and slept until 8:00!!

Bizarrely, the more sleep I'm getting these days the more tired I'm feeling!Confused

lazzaroo · 02/06/2013 09:58

Hi all. Been away for a couple of days. Just have to say constant questions about sleeping drive me insane! None more than 'is she good? Does she sleep' somehow implying that not sleeping makes her a bad baby Sad

Anypants · 02/06/2013 10:25

I had someone say 'is she stretching out at night now?' and I said 'yes, she's grown to about two feet now' but apparently they were enquiring about how long she slept. It's along the lines of asking how much a baby weighs at birth though - the information is useless to anyone but you but people feel the need to ask. They don't ask how many nappies they get through, or how often you do the washing, or what time you eat dinner. Stuff em. I tell them I haven't slept for days and invite them to come and help. Funnily, they don't accept Hmm

lazzaroo · 02/06/2013 18:28

On bedtime feed already. It always seems a bit early but she's always shattered by now. Is tending to wake from last nap about 3/4ish so no time to squeeze another sleep in but I wonder if it's contributing to the early wake ups.

She has started napping for longer in the afternoon. She still wakes after 40mins-hour but will be rocked back to sleep.

Had carrot puree for tea. Pulled some funny faces but was happy to eat more so I think that's a success!

Off on hols tomorrow. Hope the Sun keeps shining Smile

lazzaroo · 02/06/2013 18:32

larle interested to hear how you get on tonight. Good luck!

I agree any but it feels like a kind of parenting test....which I'm obviously failing (for the second time?) it is the one thing that really gets my back up. My IL's still ask how dd1 slept or what time was she up & she's 3! aaahhhhh!!

larlemucker · 02/06/2013 19:01

Just put the jug thing from the hand blender in the steriliser, it's come out a funny shape! Whoops!!!

mummy2under2 · 02/06/2013 22:52

Hello Im new have an 8 week old tounge tie baby that im exclusivly breastfeeding! 8.1lbs at birth and now almost 14lbs. as you might not toungetie babies can be lazy latchers lol so he hangs of my nipple most of the time but he is getting alot better but night times are the hardest; though best time to feed as we ligh down me on my back him on side and it seems to really be fab but because hes tired his latch can be lazier and there for he ends up in and out of his bed ( after his 4 hour strech) for the whole night!!
he isnt feeding right now but wanted to introduce myself and wonered if i could join> i am finding it hard stayin awake dealing with my 15 month old now shes started waking up in night too so exasusted.

how do you even type DURING a feed? what position is ur baby in l? x

Anypants · 03/06/2013 00:58

Welcome mummy2 - i'm on a new fangled smart phone so it's a one handed job for me, although I do make plenty of mistakes and it takes ages Smile
Did you bring any biscuits?
First feed here since a late bedtime at 9.30pm. Not normally up so soon so I figure.something's up.
I know it's TMI but DD has been going for two or three days.without pooing (apparently ok if ebf) but I am a little concerned that she went once on Friday (usual poonami) then twice yesterday and today has been three times. Do you think I should be concerned? Hmm

larlemucker · 03/06/2013 01:51

Welcome mummy2 and congratulations!!

I manage to type as DS is in the rugby ball position (so under my arm) and if u get it right I can have both hands free!!

We're on third feed since we came to bed at 10.30. Currently DS is going back into cot for my experiment. He has already woken more than last night although looking at his gums he is cutting a tooth so I expect more wakings.

Think I'm gonna attempt transfer as baby larle asleep!

Sleepy dust to all!!

iamci · 03/06/2013 01:53

haven't managed to put James down in his basket without him waking yet tonight. can barely keep eyes open. thought we were going to have an ok night as he's fed loads today and has been more alert. both tired so latch not great - ow Sad

larlemucker · 03/06/2013 03:02

Up again this is deffo worse than last night

iamci · 03/06/2013 03:17

hi larle,we managed an hour and a half but up again.serve me right for only having one quick nap on couch today.

SoYo · 03/06/2013 05:03

Morning, anyone for Brew & a Jaffa cake?

We've had some form of miraculous night which I'm sure wont be repeated for months. Madam went down after ridiculous mega screaming fit when bad mummy left it too long after tired cues at 9.45 & has just woken up. That's 7 hours! She wasn't even crying now but my boobs are absolute agony & have woken me up every hour for past 3hrs! Now feeding from the first & I'm concerned the other might actually pop.

So what are the chances she'll go a couple more hours after this feed? Slim right? I need to make the most of this now because its jabs day here so cue a very unsettled few days!

lazzaroo · 03/06/2013 07:47

Welcome mummy2. Sounds like you're little one has got off to a great start despite the tongue tie. Well done!

Usual million wake ups here. Woke up at 4.20! and wouldn't go back to sleep! It's going to e a long day!

larlemucker · 03/06/2013 11:14

Been to see HV for weight in, little man is 15lb 14oz at 22 and a half weeks.

Bit confused though with his sleeping as she said he is too young for any sleep training but not to let him sleep in our bed as then he will wake up because he knows he will get to sleep in our bed. So does that mean that we have to carry on with the hourly wakings??
