I havent posted on here before, my DD is 6 months old and still rgularly waking for nightfeeds except for tonight...................... I think this could possibly be the first time she has EVER slept through and I'm still wide awake?????? Typical!!

MrsNPattz · 30/03/2013 05:57

Third feed Sad

Welcome Pine and Bunny! I have a 6 month old too, he has slept through a few times but recently it's got worse! This thread keeps me going!!

Oh Amey that did make me laugh but I'm sure you weren't!!

MrsNPattz · 30/03/2013 08:56

Just feeding little man then hubby is going to take him so I can go back to sleep!

funchum8am · 30/03/2013 11:24

Welcome pine and bunny! pine our dd is on the same night schedule as your DS except often wakes around 4.30 to 5 for the day Sad. and she is also just coming up to 6 months.

We are staying at DH's family home in Stratford on Avon for Easter weekend, though the PILs have gone back to Scotland (they retired there years ago). Babyfunch was up at 4.30 so DH took her til TEN...I think I may now have returned to normal levels of brain function after that lie in! She has just done a horrible stinky greeny cement-textured poo though!

Heff how was the house?!

Huge waves to everyone, hope it is not too weird that I am still here even though back at work! Though now it is Easter I will be on night duties again Smile

Pinebarrens · 30/03/2013 14:16

thanks for the warm welcome Smile
Its reassuring to know at least i'm not alone.

i guess I'll (virtually) see you all in the morning. oh and the clocks go forward tonight, brilliant - one less hour of sleep!

GoatBongosAnonymous · 30/03/2013 17:59

One less hour's sleep, but I am hoping that it means that Kid won't be waking at 4;30!!

Smallgreenone · 30/03/2013 18:32

Lol at the poo amey!
Hello newcomers, what a shame you are here though!
Tonight I am not going to feed baby small when he wakes after his dream feed. He has been having 1pz so I know he isn't hungry. Am preparing myself for some serious wailing though as cant imagine this habit will be that easy to break. So hoping it works though and he starts to sleep through and end my 7 months of sleep deprivation.

Babybeesmama · 30/03/2013 19:01

Good luck goat! At least 430 will be 530 - slightly more acceptable!

Small - good luck with the night weaning! We are trying the mattress next to cot trick tonight - will report back to tell you I've failed & am co sleeping at 4am! thought we might aswell try whilst we have time in day to catch up on sleep.

DD and DS just had hysterical hour - she makes him laugh so much, its the sweetest thing!

I am about to cook a nice cottage pie & veg for tea once they are snoozing! Xx

EeyoresGloomyPlace · 30/03/2013 19:13

Welcome pine and bunny dd2 is6 months and our nights are fairly similar to yours pine, although recently she's been waking for the day at 6 which is a bit pants.

abi so sorry to hear your DM is unwell, sending you hugs and positive thoughts for a good recovery Thanks

Well, the house was perfect and awful at the same time Confused Detached cottage totally on its own down a little country lane with half an acre of its own land, 3 bedrooms, lots of outbuildings (DH mentally filling them with cars and tools, me with horses and bunnies!) everything very dated as it is a deceased estate, lots of cosmetic work but nothing too major. Price amazingly low, all seemed too good to be true, which of course it was :( The only neighbours for miles around we discovered live at the other end of the lane, perhaps half a mile away, and they were in the form of a huge traveller settlement. Initially we thought lets not be prejudiced it might be fine, but then I looked up the crime statistics for te area and [bushock] 90% attributable to the campsite. It gets better, then I found a link to national news last year of an armed siege between some of the traveller residents and police [bushock] again, then about a year before that the discovery of a convicted sex offender hiding out there...no wonder we found a gun cabinet hidden in the cottage! So, all in all we decided perhaps not the place for us! Such a shame though, it was beautiful :(

DH has been job hunting like mad here dropping cvs off and knocking on doors so crossing fingers for a bit of luck.

Hope everyone's had a nice day and that there are some good nights ahead.

Heff xx

MissingMyMarbles · 30/03/2013 19:28

Evening.

Shame about the house, Heff. You'll find the perfect one eventually though.

Last night was perfectly awful from 2 o' clock onwards. Hoping it was just because she was in with me and also DD1 joined me at some point too. Hopefully back on track tonight although have had funny sort of a day.

Hi to newbies. I think the thread was originally set up to help people stay awake in night feeds and bit fall asleep in chairs with teats/nipples in babies' mouths. It's just now we're all gutted we're still doing night feeds [bugrin]

Hope we all sleep well despite the loss of the hour don't get enough sleep anyway to notice [buhmm]

abi2790 · 30/03/2013 20:54

Evening everyone :) DS has just gone to sleep. He had a really long nap earlier which usually means he'll sleep well at night. Fingers crossed! Not looking forward to the one hour less sleep.

DP has gone to the pub tonight with his brother that got back from afghanistan last week. Usually I hate it when he goes to the pub but I don't mind tonight :)

larlemucker · 30/03/2013 20:55

Evening all.

Sorry about the house heff, with the crime stats sounds like a scary place to live! I'm sure you'll find somewhere just as nice if not better.

Been clothes shopping today, bought this
(Hope link works!) for my cousins wedding. have also had to buy spanx for my jelly belly
Baby larle slept thorough out the whole lunch/shopping experience!!

ami I was in a cafe last week when baby larle had a poo, we were about to go so thought I'd wait and change nappy at home. He was sat on my lap, when I picked him up I had poo all over my trousers! So full clothing change on floor (we were the only people upstairs!)

Not looking forward to the clocks changing tonight, could do with that extra hours sleep. Wondering how it will affect baby larles routine too. Mind you it'll be nice to have lighter evenings!

Sleepy dust to everyone

MrsNPattz · 30/03/2013 21:04

Bedtime here, we have had a nice day. I didn't have a lie in cause I couldn't sleep, but we went for lunch then a walk into town. I had a sleep this afternoon, then mum and me fed and bathed little man while hubby and dad were still out drinking!

Heff that's such a shame about the house, but at least you found out sooner rather than later!

Larle that dress is gorgeous!

I'm not looking forward to losing an hour either. Hope we have a better night!

MrsNPattz · 30/03/2013 21:31

I was too optimistic when I said it was bedtime Blush

SoYo · 30/03/2013 21:43

Is it bad that I'm really looking forward to the clocks going forward because even if tonight's as bad as the last two, at least it's an hour shorter! Bedtime here, she's opened her eyes on transfer so I'm waiting for the tears but ever hopeful she'll just drift off again.

[busmile]

MrsNPattz · 31/03/2013 03:57

First feed here, I totally forgot about the clocks for a minute and then remembered so it's not been as good a stretch as I thought but at least he missed out the early feed!

Smallgreenone · 31/03/2013 04:10

Oh heff you're house sounds lovely but obviously not so great being next to dodgy traveller site! Shame you can't pick it up and move it.
Liking the Easter smileys [bugrin]!
Baby small has just woken so I am sat listening to him cry [busad]. He's not hysterical more sort of cross. I know he's not hungry so just got to stay strong and then try and sneak out once he's asleep. Been 5 mins so far seems like 50! How are you doing amey?

Pinebarrens · 31/03/2013 05:57

well, best night for a while for us. DS woke at 10.20 for dream feed and that's me just doing first feed since, so 4.50 am old time. That's been the longest stretch he's done for about 6 weeks.

As we all know, no two nights are the same! I am sure he'll be back to his newborn ways tonight.

happy Easter!

GoatBongosAnonymous · 31/03/2013 07:14

I forgot to say welcome to pine and bunny ! So sorry you need to join the thread but lovely to meet you and your LOs!

Last night was awful. Not helped by my climbing back into bed with DH, putting my head under the covers as refusing to move when BG started up... Confused poor DH rose to the occasion but looks like BG will only settle for me. Yay.

Oh. Just realised I called Kid BG, which he is on another thread. Much easier to type in my sleep deprived state as my phone recognises it, so he is herewith renamed BG (Babygoat).

Hey, only 10 1/2 hours till he goes to bed...

OP posts:
MrsNPattz · 31/03/2013 08:01

Up here, one feed which is much better than the night before! I might be able to function today Grin good job as we are off to my uncles, and my cousins will be there with their little ones! My poor grandad is not well enough to come which I'm really sad about as I wanted to see him.

Babybeesmama · 31/03/2013 08:25

Small - it so didn't work! He just got pissed off because he knew I was there but wouldn't pick him up! As soon as I pick him up he's asleep so there is nothing wrong with him. Last night has convinced me that cc is the only way of keeping him in his cot - and I think it's safer and now he can roll and move more I'm worried he will fall out of our bed. So, I just need to actually do it! I might just have to not worry about him waking dd and just go for it. I feel a bit bad because the co sleeping isn't his fault, it's my fault for putting him in the bed. How did night weaning go? Bb had a full bottle at 4am so don't think we are quite ready!

Goat bb (good idea abbreviating) wont settle for my DH either although he's got to next Friday because I'm away for the whole night Grin x

larlemucker · 31/03/2013 09:44

Awful night, up all night as he woke up crying everytime I put him back in cot. Had about 4 hours sleep (not in one lump, half hour stints) and feel crap Hmm

larlemucker · 31/03/2013 12:19

Want an Easter egg HmmHmm

Smallgreenone · 31/03/2013 12:24

We fed him at 10.30 and that was it. He woke at 4 (3 on old time) cried for 20 mins with me shhing then i sneaked out but think it was too early as he woke immediately so I did some cc which did not work at all. Think he just wondered why I kept disappearing so after 40 mins I went back in with a pillow and blanket and stayed with him all night. It was just after 5 when he resettled and he woke at 7. All smiles when he woke and wasn't hungry so am happy that he isn't hungry. Just got to persevere with the sleep training now.
Am really hoping in a week I will have a baby who sleeps through.
to all
