BF whilst pregnant: boobs like empty socks, normal?

Only just pg (prob 4/5 weeks) and bf my 10 month old (corrected) but suddenly my boobs feel really empty and she is certainly not having as many wet nappies as usual. Could my milk supply be affected, any experience of this anyone, and could it have changed the taste? Was hoping to keep going until DD wants to stop (withjin reason...)

Thanks in advance to anyone who has e3xperience of this!

Congrats on your pregnancy! Some mothers find that pregnancy does cause a drop in supply but soft breasts does not necessarily indicate that your supply has dropped. Have you noticed a change in your DD's behaviour?

This is a good resource, there is also this excellent book and there is a 'pregnant and BF' thread here.

HTH :)

Congratulations. :)

I found that DS lost a lot of interest pretty early on (currently 12 weeks but I noticed a difference from about 6 weeks). I thought my supply had dropped a lot, but given that I still have loads of milk I think it was probably the change to 'weaning milk' which made him less interested in feeding. I didn't notice any change in my breasts, though, but even if I go a whole day without feeding him they don't feel any different.

He's 2.3 and although he still feeds fairly often, they're now only short feeds (apart from before sleep). The amount he ate increased dramatically almost overnight and he had a couple of weeks of night waking needing food (solids, not just bf).

Yes, Adventures in Tandem Nursing is really good.
