Just thought people might be interested if you don't already know.

Channel 4 on Weds 1 Feb. A programme called Extraordinary Breastfeeding is on. The write up in the magazine I'm looking at says:

"You'll be texting your friends about this as soon as it starts. It's about the phenomenon of mothers who breastfeed their kiddies well beyond the age considered 'normal' in this country. Seeing a feisty mum breastfeed her two-year-old twin isn't that disturbing, but the sequence of another lady suckling her 7 year old dughter isn't one we will forget in a hurry. "

I'm looking forward to seeing the tone it takes.

She has got a point GDG.
Can't believe you said 'Get a grip!' after our ahem...lively debates on this in the past.

Anyone see 'Shameless' (God I love it!!) tonight when Mnady Maguire's response to the question of whether she is b/feeding or not is
'Fuck off!!! She's on bottles. It 'urts anyway.'

JoolsToo · 24/01/2006 23:26

cow are lovely, great big beautiful eyes

anyway, it's medically proved milk is good for yer bones - probably WHO recommend it

expatinscotland · 24/01/2006 23:27

Isn't 'fuck off' Mandy's response to everything, tho ?

moondog · 24/01/2006 23:29

Heather Mills was talking about how much puss there is in cows' milk in The Observer last week. That and WWB's (was it her??)stats about how much mucous is in it too has really freaked me ce soir.

expatinscotland · 24/01/2006 23:31

Nothing but pus ever comes out of Heather Mills' mouth.

GDG · 24/01/2006 23:31

I'm off to bed, can't be bothered debating. As I said earlier - you won't change my mind and I won't change yours and I'd only be going over old ground.

I'd rather search out abandoned shopping lists and post them on MN

JoolsToo · 24/01/2006 23:32

the puss is the best bit

Spidermama · 24/01/2006 23:34

Eurch! I might have to give black coffee another try. That's really disgusting Moondog. More cow pus vicar?

Aloha · 24/01/2006 23:36

Heather Mills talks crap. This milk- mucus thing is an absolute myth.

Spidermama · 24/01/2006 23:39

It's your word against hers Aloha. I'm torn now. You're a clever lass, that much is clear, but she's Heather Mills McCartney.
Ok, is the pus thing true then?

moondog · 24/01/2006 23:40

Oh I knew you'd all thank me for passing that on.

Spidermama · 24/01/2006 23:42

A strong latte with added pus please. Yum. Finger lickin'.

Now, you see, I believe everything you say about food and drink Moondog, naturally. You are the mumsnet food and drink correspondent after all.

Aloha · 24/01/2006 23:44

There is certainly nothing dangerous or infectious in pasteurised milk - that's absolutely for sure.
I'm not v keen on milk either tbh - the thought of drinking a glass of it makes me gag, blech! - though I do now drink it in coffee after years of taking it black. Ds is getting so like me - won't eat eggs and refuses milk on his cereal and will only drink milk with Nesquik in it - and I absolutely have never tried to influence him, quite the contrary in fact. Funny that.

moondog · 24/01/2006 23:44

Am on a mission to wean you all off pus,Bisto and chicken nuggets y'see.

Spidermama · 24/01/2006 23:46

Laudable.
Do you drink milk? I'll bet you use it in cooking. I've ruined many an otherwise nice meal by attempting to use a less pussy alternative.

moondog · 24/01/2006 23:49

Milk freaks me..but will have a bit of organic in tea and coffee.
Eggs can really get me going when I think about them too.

I love wild claims about the properties (or otherwise) of animate and inanimate things.
My absolute fave is the assertion that aswan can brak a grown man's arm.

Hilarious!!!

Aloha · 24/01/2006 23:50

I am really seriously freaked out by eggs. Yuk, yuk, yuk. Horror!
Eat them in cakes though, obviously.

Spidermama · 24/01/2006 23:54

Goies without saying.
There was a thread a couple of days ago about replacing eggs with ground linseed (which is similarly slimy when soaked).

JoolsToo · 24/01/2006 23:58

what?! you eat the eggs of another species

Spidermama · 25/01/2006 00:03

Only when human eggs are unavailable jools.

Aloha · 25/01/2006 00:04

God you needs LOADS of them for a Victoria sponge

moondog · 25/01/2006 00:05

Hey SM..you're a hippy chick like me. What did you do with your placentas???

JoolsToo · 25/01/2006 00:10
Spidermama · 25/01/2006 10:33

Moondog ... DH dug holes in the garden and we dropped them in and planted stuff on top. (But not before we and the kids had had a good old poke and examine of the things - yummy!)
DD's - corkscrew hazel
ds1 - eucalyptus
ds2 and ds3 willow.

What did you do with yours MD?

Meanoldmummy · 25/01/2006 10:55

SM - is that serious? Or am I being gullible?
