PS and because you read about the decision to confront this rudeness and discrimination and interpret it as 'grandstanding', you still think that any public bf is 'grandstanding' too.

Confused

Your friend should not have been lectured, of course. Shame she took the pressure to heart.

I've just been feeding dd3 is a v busy place and numerous people commented on her having a lovely cuddle/sleep and I'm pretty sure none realised I was feeding

I'm from Durham/Newcastle an live in Leeds so I don't think being northern has anything to do with wanting to be private...

I wasn't going to comment on this thread, but I feel the need to stick up for those of us in the North West who don't have a problem seeing a woman BFing her child. I am a BFer to a 7mo myself and do feed in public, I have to say that I honestly don't think that anyone has ever noticed me doing it, never mind commenting on it.

It is sad that you feel that you have to feed away from everyone else NNW, it must affect your daily routine. That of course is your choice, but don't feel that you have to do it privately because of how other people will react, as IME people simply don't react at all and stories that you hear about on here about women being given a hard time for BFing are rare.

As for people in the North West being more reticent about anything, that almost made me spit out my coffee, are you kidding?

Friend tells me lots of the comments are in tonight's paper but it's not online. If it comes on I'll link.

Busted northnorthwest!

You're the owner of that cafe aren't you?

Do you already have a powder room?

Or are you quickly sorting out a dusty store room suitable space to appease the grandstanders and help the negative publicity go away?Wink
