So be it, as far as I'm concerned.

Does Cressida Dick spend ALL of her working day cutting and pasting apology statements?

Good they deserve custodial sentences. If they had done that to my sons body I'd have been distraught enough to go and kill myself.

"Met Officer superimposed his face on photograph.
The CPS said PC Lewis superimposed his own face on to one of the images of the bodies, sending the picture on to Jaffer who then forwarded it unsolicited to a female officer on duty with them"

It's about bloody time. They've been suspended for over a year. Still haven't been fired. And that's them finally heading for a sentencing hearing for their criminal conduct. Still in a job though!

The Met is rotten all the way through.

I used to work in a pathology dept and asked if I could observe a post mortem.
The pathologist agreed but told me that everything I saw that day was highly confidential and if I spoke to anyone, even colleagues, about what I saw he would ensure I was dismissed.
Also the respect given to the deceased was impeccable. We never forgot that we were with someone's beloved family member.
Why the police do not have the same standards is beyond me.

@LuciesLawyer

That's a complete miscarriage of justice. Being a crass dick is not a crime and shouldn't be. As much as you can and should judge them for being absolute tossers, this should not even be a judicial matter.

They were not charged with being crass dicks.
They were charged with Misconduct in a Public Office.
They entered guilty pleas.
They had defence lawyers.
They had a trial.
They were found guilty "beyond a reasonable doubt"

So hardly a " miscarriage of justice", when they admitted to the offence you plonker.

Misconduct in public office is a common law offence: it is not defined in any statute. It carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. The offence requires that: a public officer acting as such; wilfully neglects to perform his or her duty and/or wilfully misconducts him or herself; to such a degree as to amount to an abuse of the public’s trust in the office holder; without reasonable excuse or justification.

They broke the trust of victims and the general public in the police, their conduct IS a crime for that very good reason. How utterly heartbreaking upon heartbreak for their mother, as if that poor family hadn't gone through enough horror and grief.

Good outcome, late, but better late than never.

Now, I'd like to know how many of the what's app group reacted positively to the images and what else they've been sharing and saying about certain victims. Time to thoroughly clean house.

Sending unsolicited images of murdered women to a female colleague too.
Speaks volumes about the culture she has had to work in.
Gross.

I hope they go to prison for a very long time. There, they'll get what's coming to them. Disgusting brutes.

No. The law allows for them to receive custodial sentences. They deserve all they get. Not only did they abuse those women's bodies, they potentially could have completely wrecked the murder investigation.

MN never ceases to amaze me I swear. A miscarriage of justice? You would minimise this to just being "crass"?
Unreal.

What planet are you on? You would be happy for this to happen to one of your loved ones body?

They should be sacked immediately have a long jail sentence and be made to pay back all the tax payers money they have had in salary since they were suspended.

What I find truly shocking is the comments from Cressida Dick.

"Met Police Commissioner Dame Cressida Dick called the actions of her officers "utterly unprofessional, disrespectful and deeply insensitive".

Is she on a different planet - any normal person would find this digusting and call for them to sacked and locked up. She finds it "UNPROFFESIONAL". ????

It's feasible that they may lose the employer's contribution part of their pension.

They deserve jail time and retraction of employer benefits

I wonder how what they did came to light

Cressida Dick should go too. Not a sideways, cop out move. Just go.

I am a massive supporter of the Police, I'm married to one! And even I know you're being an idiot!!

Of course they deserve whatever they get, disgusting behaviour by them!!

You're being s complete idiot.

The man who took photos of a body during the Grenfell Towers distaste was jailed.

These police officers will be jailed too. They did it whilst holding a position of trust. It is misconduct in a public office.
