Backinthebox · 25/07/2010 14:33

Hope everything is going well for Iggy.

Today I mostly feel like shite. Could be to do with 2 hr swimming session on Thursday, touristy day out on Friday, and horse show yesterday followed by a sudden burst of energy that led me to top the paddocks and strim down weeds for a couple of hours. This morning DD started the old 'you getting up now?' routine at about 6.30am and I was pinned to the bed by my bump. I hadn't slept at all well, probably because I can no longer turn over in bed and if I don't get the pillows in just the right place I have a dragging feeling at the base of my ribs where the bump is hanging off them. So I got up with DD and then when OH got up I went back to bed. Still feel like poo though. I remember feeling like this last time, and people kept saying 'ooh, once the baby is born you'll have to get used to sleep deprivation.' But the fact is that once you don't have 2 stone of baby and placenta and amniotic fluid crushing your lungs if you lie on your back yet preventing you from laying on your fron, you are much better able to make good use of the sleep time you have. Especially if you have finely honed napping skills like I do

So - only 6 weeks to go now, and it can't pass quickly enough. Where did I put that Dairy Milk?

rollerbaby · 25/07/2010 16:55

Dear Iggy hope she is ok and can't wait to see her back on here!!!

Box I feel your pain today (except I suspect yours is slightly worse than mine). My napping skills also becoming improved. Never could sleep in the day before. Now me and doglet have a 30 minute snooze at the merest suggestion. 6 weeks will be gone before you know it.

I'm feeling a bit low today for reasons of suspected self inflicted SPD. I'm such a fucking idiot. What twenty something preggo goes running up escalators? Answer: me. And now I'm still paying for it. I've got pelvic pain running down each side of pelvis crease (where joins top of leg) and now across the top of my pubic bone (under bump) which hurts when I walk alot, move from sitting/lying position, turn over in bed and walk upstairs. Apparently these are the symptoms of spd. Great. And I thought a few days rest and would be back to normal. Nope it's getting worse it seems and its really making my bump and between my hips ache. Having been throughly chastised by Mr Moo I need to find a physio I think to help me get this sorted. Has anyone had anything like this...and any improvement, or am I going to be walking around like an 88 year old woman for the rest of my pregnancy?? I really do feel like a dick.

Hospital tour was also yesterday. Made me feel very emotional seeing a dad waiting by the lift with his empty car seat to pick up his newborn and just basically walking around thinking, holy crap we'll be here before long. The MLU was fab - big delivery rooms with birthing pools and mattress on floor, bed, balls, a helpful hoist when you need to get out of pool quick sharpish (I didn't feel it was necessary to tell us this bit) and a sort of stool where your partner sits behind you. Oh and a nice view of Tooting. The Midwife touring was helpful enough to remind us that midwives apparently like large boxes of chocolates. WAs slightly unnerved by fact the onduty obstetrician was about 22. WTF is that all about? You aint going near my fanjo unless you are older than me. Fact. That has been a rule I have abided by for a very long time and has stood me in good stead so far. Had a bit of a weep when we came out... feeling overwhelmed.

Was supposed to meet my mum afterwards for her birthdy surprise makeover at Harvey Nicks. She forgot her phone and we hadn't said where to meet. So I spent 2 hours wandering around trying to call her, and find her. Eventually started sobbing out of concern, anger, dehydration and hunger. I think I may have brought some undue attention to myself.

Then last night had bbq at lovely friends house. Her husband is a social climbing, arrogant twat and spends the evening putting people down (including his wife and my husband) and generally being thoroughly irritating. What would you do. I love my friend to bits but her husband can be such a rude arse. It really depresses me that we have to put up with him. I don't think he's particularly fond of my other half either, who basically refuses to pander to his me, me, me conversation or has much in common so it is always a bit of a trial. I sometimes wonder if it is worth bothering. But then it feels like I would lose a friend... dunno. Moan, moan, moan.

On the GOOD and POSITIVE side. Iggys having a baby and I had nice sausages for lunch.

rollerbaby · 25/07/2010 16:56

BTW, when I say "twenty something preggo" I should have added the word "week" into that phrase.

SilverSky · 25/07/2010 18:37

Just popping in after spending day with Him Indoors. Was nice apart from I can't walk very fast whereas I used to be a bit of storm trooper before. Walking at warp speed. It's not a lack of energy, well it's more lack of desire, and I just feel dog slow. My tum aches and my back aches and I have 12 wks to bloody go. I am going be a hermit by the end I know.

In nag news. Horse lady came to meet hoss. I was really liking her til she asked if she could tack horse up tho she isnot actually having a test drive til next week. So despite me not really having the time I agreed. Also think its not overly fair on hoss as gives mixed messages. Whilst tacking up and asking me how things go she said to me something like "gotta remember that not everyone will do things exactly how you do them, that doesn't mean they are wrong". I was gobsmacked and felt like i had been told off. Her sister was with her and tried to make light of the situation. So now I don't know whether to say thanks but no thanks or wot. Hoss gals - opinions pls !

Fingers xd for igglepiggle!
