fanny haha, is it along the lines of "you look beautiful to me" or "men like a bit of bum"!

VAG They are arseholes. As soon as a woman becomes pregnant she's up for public scrutiny it would appear - and as for raising the mite? No matter what you do it'll be wrong.

As far as "wash & wipe" goes, I got a play gym the other day and it's all easy to dismantle (velcro) and the fabric can be washed.

OkieCokie · 17/07/2010 20:05

Am I the only sad one in on a Saturday night watching tragic telly?

FannyPriceless · 17/07/2010 20:18

What tragic telly okes? I am watching Le Tour (not my choice).

CurlyCasperBaggedABairn · 17/07/2010 20:19

You are not alone. Barrowman-tastic here. SFF at work and I'm trying to soothe the child. Apparently, camp, cheesy singing and dancing is all BabyCasp needed to drop off on my lap... for now

Muser · 17/07/2010 20:20

I'm here. Watching Big Bang Theory on DVD, I am feeling anti-social.

cheggers · 17/07/2010 20:28

nope i'm here too. although after marathon cluster feed have not even the energy to turn on crap tele. enough to lift a (small) glass of chilled white though

and not thought about passports yet. spose we will have to go through that photography palava as well.

going anywhere nice ponymar?

cheggers · 17/07/2010 20:44

that's spooky muse have also been ploughing through big bang theory dvd's all week.

and giggle at your singing casp. i've had to learn to soothe one while feeding the other and can only resort to my singing skills.

unfortunately due to a more god squad upbringing than most i happen to know more hymn lyrics than any other songs. my lover (even more athiest than scorps) raises a very large eyebrow at that when he gets home from work!

yikes. wire on now. guess i need to concentrate

OkieCokie · 17/07/2010 20:52

Yes, can't believe I have just sat through nearly an hour of Barrowman, that is just too sad. No baby movement today, hmmmm, I like reassuring jabs in the tum tum..

Backinthebox · 17/07/2010 21:47

I am back from Oop North and have not laid a baybee yet. I HAVE returned with masses and masses of goodies though - mainly baby stuff that I bought and paid for 3 years ago and then have been more recently used for relatives' babies. I have got lots of hand-me-down blue newborn gear (am being suspicious of lack of commitment from 20-week-scan lady and not buying loads of new clothes when I can borrow enough to tide me over till I check what I have!) I have also brought back my tractor (yay!) and can now use it to bounce up and down my bumpy field on to initiate and improve contractions should I appear to be going late again. Clucky will confirm the power of my driving over fields as a way of starting labour!

Anyway - need to catch up properly, but am glad to see there is a bit more activity around here again - the heat must have been getting to you all last week!

FannyPriceless · 17/07/2010 21:52

Hi cheggs! It's for our epic trip down under at the end of the year. We've decided that all four of us will get British passports for the first time, since we have to get them for Bonnie and Clyde.

I too know far too many happy clappy lyrics from my tragic youth. I adapt them though. Today I was singing 'Change your nappies, change them one by one, change your nappies, see what poo you've done...'

Welcome back box!

OP posts:
SkiHorseWonAWean · 17/07/2010 21:58

I'm terrible with lyrics but excellent with tunes. Our current favourites are "You've got Hungry Eyes" and "How much is that doggy in the window?".

boxer Glad to have you back - everyone is much chirpier - see other place for secret to new found happiness! (Gin & amphetamines)

OkieCokie · 17/07/2010 21:59

My fella has just come home (a bit pissed) with a bag of chips for me, romantic or what?

rollerbaby · 17/07/2010 22:03

What more can you ask for? I'm also sitting in front of the telly (crap film on Sky+) in my knickers and vest as I'm too full post curry. Uuuuuuurrrrhhhhhh.

Cheggs is wire on TV? Have only watched 1st series on DVD. Trying to get into 2nd, but bit slow go. Reckon that will be one to save for 4am BFing.

POny you're going to Oz?!! Wowee... tell us more.

rollerbaby · 17/07/2010 22:04

I meant Fanny ignore me

SilverSky · 17/07/2010 22:45

I am here too. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels for us.

FannyPriceless · 17/07/2010 22:53

I'm now NAKing in bed.

ski Hungry Eyes rocks! For similar effect also try Jesse's Girl and Somebody's Baby. (I have superbly cheese-tastic taste in 80s MOR hits.)

honeycow No, EnZed. MrP's sabbatical combined with visits to relatives. I am NOT looking forward to the trip.

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 18/07/2010 09:25

Morning all...

Just thought I'd say hi and tell you about my latest appt... Turns out the baby has not grown, which is ok apparently, but means we have dropped down to just under average size... The doc reckons it will have arrived by Friday... But no guarantee I guess...

Gonna go swimming today to encourage things along!

Backinthebox · 18/07/2010 09:44

Come round here IGGS and I'll take you for a ride on my tractor! Oooh-aargh!

Before I get another one, I was just wondering if anyone would like a fully-formed nearly 3 year old ginger child? I am in the process of discovering that the terrible twos are because they know what they want but can't communicate - now DD has beautiful eloquent communication skills which mean she askes persistently over and over again for what she wants. At 5.30am when she is asking for 'milk. In a white cup with a lid on - hot milk, in my bed with a cushion and a blanket - miiiiiiil-kk!' I would rather chance it with the inarticulate tantrum of a few months back!

SkiHorseWonAWean · 18/07/2010 10:13

iggy Congratulations! Are you feeling ready now mentally? Never mind size, me and curly both had tiddlers who are expanding by the day - also between the 4 parents not one is over 5'8"... The swimming sounds lovely, I went to an outdoor pool the day before hospital and it was bliss.

boxer Sooooo, there's something to be said for not conversing with the small people?

Muser · 18/07/2010 10:18

Iggy's going to lay a baby!

I am done with these pregnacare vitamins. Every time I take them I get sicker. I had a good day yesterday so thought I would try them again with a proper meal. So of course I felt terrible all night and puked first thing this morning. Evil bloody pills.

SkiHorseWonAWean · 18/07/2010 10:41

muser I felt the same. I just made sure my diet was, as best as is possible, high in B vits and iron. Bloodwork all came back fine and post-partum I ate red meat every day for a week.

CUNextTuesday · 18/07/2010 10:44

Muse the only time I ever puked was just after I'd taken pregnacare - stopped taking them, never puked again. They are the work of the devil - just take folic acid and have some fruit and veg and you'll be dine

PerfectDromedary · 18/07/2010 10:46

Musette My GP was all, bah, Pregnacare are expensive and shite. Just take some folic acid. So you have real medical advice on this matter.

Booking-in appointment yesterday was long and boring, but is now done. I have been reading all the crap you get given and wondering why it's necessary to discuss the concept of birth plans with someone who is 7+4. Please don't make me think about birth plans yet. I am still in de Nile.

PerfectDromedary · 18/07/2010 10:48

NB Am not in de Nile about being pregnant. Am fucking delighted that am pregnant. Am just too superstitious to enjoy it as yet.

CurlyCasperBaggedABairn · 18/07/2010 10:48

god all my years on meds must have really paid off. i'm still taking pregnacare with no probs.

iggy - is exciting, no? tho you do sound a bit fed up, so I'm sending PESH power for it to happen quickly.

ski you are right about them growing. little hats drowned her in hossie. just put one on for a blustery walk across a field and it fits! the buzz also performed wonderfully across grass mounds and cow turds . and the bumps made grumpy baby a quiet baby, for a while at least.

boxy that sounds like a right 'mare. i was a kid just like that and fully expect the karma to be restored via Squeaker. bet my mum can't wait for me to suffer.

cheggs it was actually Mr Barrowman and friends doing the singing on tv last night, but Squeaker's dad and I do have quite a repertoire of random, tuneless nonsense. and I have a tendency to pull out either showtunes or highly inappropriate lyrics by the likes of Radiohead...

quite glad i have been away from the hymns long enough not to end up down that route
