Belated birthday wishes gruff!

Diege- kids have written letters already! DH has looked up how to play with match attax so we've all been roped into playing all day! DH said if he looks after them and keeps them out of DD2's reach he'll get him the kit thing from tesco on Friday when we go shopping!

Watching the match so will dash and continue to watch!

Diege · 28/06/2010 11:16

Morning! Aww that's so sweet about the letters CANT .Mine have been asking too, so might be best if you send me the letters with your address on, then mine can reply and take it from there? I'll e-mail you my address. Oh and Libby thinks Bethany is coming for a sleep-over tonight - it was the first thing she asked when she got up this morning
Hope everyone is ok!!! We need another honk to rally the troops!!

Starshinetiger · 28/06/2010 14:05

Glad you had such a great meet-up Cant and Diege. Looking forward to our London meet-up in a few weeks

Gruff - belated birthday wishes - sorry I missed it. Sounds like you had a lovely day. Good luck with packing away today.

Nat - very belated birthday wishes to you too - so sorry I have been so slack.

Agree re. the heat - we travelled back from PIL yesterday at bedtime and while DS fell asleep, DD stayed awake all journey and kept doing her sign for hot and saying "ot" "ot" bless her.

Diege - did you keep the Maclaren in the end? Are you pleased with it. Can you believe have still not got round to ordering ours, but now in desperate need, as need to be able to use buggy board. Must order it tonight.

Sorry for AF Gruff. Mine is a bit awol this month (just like last month) - sorry for those wanting theirs not to arrive, but should I be worried if my cycle starts to change? I have always been so regular and was regular for first couple of months once it returned after bfing, but now has started not being so predictable - could it be linked to putting on weight?

Started weight watchers this weekend. Was shocked when I got on their scales . Ah well, at least am doing something about it now. Have at least 1st 9lbs to lose, but could probably lose a few more pounds than that too. Have incentive of all the lovely clothes in my wardrobe to get into and a planned date with DH for our 6th wedding anniversary at end of August.

Hope GYo is enjoying her hols (not jealous at all!)

Diege · 28/06/2010 16:00

Afternoon! Agree, far too hot, though the sun has gone in here. I'm in London at the end of the week for an exam meetng though, and I see from the forcast that it will still be hot there!
STAR, yes, very pleased with the maclaren. I've figured out the sunshade(it's 'releases' from a velcro fastening rather than a zip as with slightly older model, though I do find that it will just tip back if there's so much as a key in the pockets at the back!) I still think after all that that another sundhae type cover will be needed - I'm obsessed! WW sounds good - I'm with the opposition myself (Slimming World) but my friend had a similar anount o you to lose and has managed in about 6 months. Yes, looking forward to London meet too!
GRUFF, bad luck on af This will be month 4 of trying for me, though may well be away on right days this month if opks are anything to go by. With a quoted 5% chance of conception,I'm not getting too excited anyway!
Hi TINKS! Agree, too hot for me too.
Right, better get back to the tennis my work.

Diege · 28/06/2010 16:02

Oh and meant to add that if anyone happens to be in the Londoin Euston area this Thursday evening and wants to go out for a bit to eat I'm free .Otherwise I'll just eat a butty on my hotel bed

Diege · 28/06/2010 16:02

Bite to eat!!

essenceofSES · 28/06/2010 20:50

Hello!!

Diege - would love to meet up for a bite to eat on Thurs but sadly DH working late so no can do!
Am still at 5% chance of conception! Can I be unconvinced by that stat?!

Star - well done on starting weight watchers! Sorry your cycle is mucking you around. Are you still BF? Just wonder whether that might affect it?
DD sounds v cute with her "ot", "ot"

Gruff - glad you had a good birthday!
That's the worst thing about a trip - the putting thins away afterwards!
Sorry for AF

tink - yay for feeding ducks and chillaxing!
Glad yo like your new glasses - they look good on FB photos

Cant - how cute re letter writing!
Oh and well done R!

We had a lovely evening out on Friday for our anniversary. Did chat a little about ttc. DH said we'll start "casually" ttc next month but he'd like for us to get pg in about 4mo!
Also spoke about how many DC. He's still saying he'd only like 2DC One step at a time though...
He's also convinced we'll have a girl this time I said my favourite girl's name currently is Esther and he said "No way!" as he immediately thinks of Esther Rantzen. We came up with Naomi as a possibility!
No idea about a boy's name!

Saturday afternoon, O and I went across to our neighbours who had a party for their 6yo DD. Loads of children and they had this huge inflatable that was a large paddling pool and water slide all in one. O kept walking back down the length of the garden (about 25ft!) trying to get back in - even when his teeth were chattering! He also kept trying to climb up the 4ft high slide! He managed to get me soaked too

Rugbylovingmum · 28/06/2010 21:21

Hi all,

Ses - O just sounds sooooo cute! We will have to try and arrange a northern meet up next time you visit York (all southerners welcome too of course). With starting back at work I've just been too busy to try and come to any wagon get togethers but it would be lovely to see you all again. Hurray for ttcing next month, really pleased DH has agreed now (but had a little giggle at casually ttcing ). Looking forward to some honks over the next few months.

Diege and Cant - glad the meet up was fun. Letter writing and match attack swaps sounds cute, it's great they all got on. Bless Libby thinking you were having a sleep over . BTW Diege I am at only 5% chance but I have my fingers crossed for you.

Gruff - sorry for AF . Sounds like you had a great birthday though. We are off camping next weekend and I'm really looking forward to it. I hope the evenings are a bit cooler though.

Star - good luck with WW.

Tink - what a great day, feeding ducks and chilling out.

I'm very interested in all the maclaren chat - I love my britax but the 'catch' doesn't work very well so when we sit the buggy/DD up it tends to slip back gradually until she ends up pretty much horizontal again. I don't know if we can get it fixed but it got us thinking about a new buggy and I liked the look of the maclaren techno. How small does it fold? DB/SIL have the quinny buzz but DN can tip it over backwards by swinging in it . Is the techno a bit more balanced?

PS Thanks for all your lovely messages last week . I can hardly believe how emotional I felt going back to work and leaving DD . I have negotiated a slightly earlier finish on Thursdays (starting earlier a couple of days to make up the time but DP will do the drop offs on those days) which breaks the week up a bit and makes me feel better. I am much more relaxed this week.

Diege · 28/06/2010 21:34

Evening! Fear not about the 5% chance you youngsters!!! Tis only when you hit 40 that it drops to that apparently..under 40 tis 25% .
SES,great news, but I did have to laugh at 'casually ttc-ing' Cue SES's fertility friend/opks/temping etc etc...Honestly,dh/dps don't have a clue do they Sounds like you had a great weekend - can just imagine O trying to climb up then slide!
RUGBY, sounds like you're getting the work thing sorted! On Maclaren front I've not actually folded mine yet, but I'm sure STAR will advise!
Right, bed beckons, ealrt start tomorrow - in the rain too if it continues!

bumpsnowjustplump · 29/06/2010 20:58

hello all sorry been so busy.. Just want to mark my place.. hope your all well xx

Starshinetiger · 29/06/2010 21:44

Evening all. Busy ebaying (I've opened my own username - now DH is in trouble ), watching items.

Rugby - Maclaren Techno XT spec is:
Technical Specifications
Suitable from birth - 15kgs (approx 4 years)
Single Pushchair
3 handle height positions 107-110cm
Assembled dimensions 107-110 x 49 x 62cm
Folded dimensions 107 x 35 x 38.5cm
Weight 7.8kgs

So, I think it's compact compared to the M&P travel system SIL gave us, but is quite long, so depends on your boot size for getting in car. Fits in our Peugeot 307.

Ses - glad you had a good time with DH and you had some TTC chat - which is progress. I really don't think you can know how many DC you want until you've had each one. Before DD I would have said we'd have more, but now we realise it's right for us just to devote our time to 2 DC. Love the name Naomi btw.

Diege - we will be near Euston on Thurs, but because we're at GOSH with DD and don't know what time we'll be finished, but if it was nearer evening then we'd be heading home to DS. Otherwise would definitely have been up for meeting up. DD has a check-up on Thurs and we're hoping they'll give us some idea when she'll get her op, so please keep fingers crossed for us. Btw, if you fancy a walk to Russell Square, there is a "Hare & Tortoise" in the shopping centre (open air SC), which does Asian fusion and is lovely food - you could comfortably eat in there on your own if you want to escape your hotel room.

Tink - shopping looks good.

Ah well, back to ebay!

Rugbylovingmum · 30/06/2010 08:00

Morning all,

just a quick post before starting work. Another early morning this morning - DP is dropping DD off at nursery later so I came in at 7 which means I can pick her up early tomorrow. It makes such a difference if I can collect her around 3pm one afternoon as I get to spend a couple of hours playing with her before tea and the grumpy pre-bed hour .

Star - thanks for the info. I'm not sure whether we really need a new buggy yet but I think we might go for the maclaren eventually. I've discovered the britax will stay upright if I have it up as far as it will go so it's probably okay for now and I do like to have the option of having C facing me so we can chat IYKWIM. Hope the ebaying goes well.

Tink - I really like the jeans. I think they might be quite hot when the weather is like this (well I'm too hot in my jeans) but you can always use her leggings on sunny days. If the ones with the roll-ups can be rolled up to mid-calf that makes them feel much cooler. I'm sure this weather can't last too much longer - this is the UK!

Hi to anyone lurking.

tinktellyaddict · 30/06/2010 09:25

hi bump

star - sounds good with ebay

rugby cheers

chose those jeans as are all adjustable waists otherwise mum will have to take in

tinktellyaddict · 30/06/2010 10:11

have just ordered some cropped thinner trousers instead

Diege · 30/06/2010 10:29

Morning! Thanks for thinking about me in London (I may well try out that place you mention STAR, think I know the one you mean),maybe next time. Having said that, not long at all til our London meet-up! Booked our hotel for the Sat night yesterday - so hard finding a family room, and in the end had to settle for one in Canary Wharf so not exactly central....still, 4*,with swimming pool, and only £79 for all 3 of us including breakfast,so can't complain!TINKS, good going on the shopping front - I really hope the weather holds for you
RUGBY, I know that pre-bedtime hour all too well...sounds like you have a good work-life balance there, though being in at 7 must be a shock to the system!
STAR, good luck for GOSH tomorrow. We were at Alder Hey with dd1 for about a year, and they always mentioned how great GOS was (I think many at AH had worked there, and vice versa). Sure all will be fine x
Hi to everyone else

tinktellyaddict · 30/06/2010 11:20

Rugbylovingmum · 01/07/2010 09:34

Morning Tink, enjoy soft play.

Is anyone else lurking? I'm shattered this morning - DD had a very unsettled night - and I was hoping for a bit of mn'ing to help the day along. I was in at 7 again today so I'm having an early 10min tea break. I'll be forced to head over to AIBU for a bit of entertainment at this rate.

tinktellyaddict · 01/07/2010 09:40

hi rugby sorry for bad nite bless dd
