Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
jessicaandbumpsmummy · 30/08/2005 09:46

napisan them, wash them, and get them on the line on a REALLY sunny day (like today) and the sun will bleach them!

Lexie100 · 30/08/2005 10:16

Just had the week from hell so went to stay with my mother. Managed to get a cold and spent most of the week throwing up. Decided that if i can cope with that i can cope with most of labour. I have never been so misserable. Thankfully feeling much better now and the little one is so active i think he/she will be ok. 6.5 weeks to go.

We are all sooooooo nearly there.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 30/08/2005 10:17

Glad you feel better Lexie - cant believe we are on the homeward stretch - feels like its all gone a bit too quick!

nervousmum2be · 30/08/2005 11:59

Morning All, just got back from having my second lot of anti-D. Baby is still breech, and he has apparantly got very long legs - i hope the newborn babygros i've got will fit him! Get to see the consultant a week on Friday to discuss labour options, but if baby stays breech, my wanted c-section is looking more likely. That should shut MIL up!

Elf1981 · 30/08/2005 12:21

nervousmum2be - how long have you got til your due date? I'm due on the 12th, baby is still breech and at the last scan, the leg measurements were off the chart! They have said that I seem to be having a long baby.
However, my midwife says she'll see me on the 7th, then on the 21st, then refer me to the hospital the following week, which would be about the 28th. I'm worried that it's leaving it really late with reference to having a good discussion about the birth options. Any ideas anybody??

CPT · 30/08/2005 12:44

Afternoon Ladies
How are you all - Wow its been busy here since I last was able to pop by! Hope you are all doing well.
Just a quickie right now as I have 32wk scan this pm - telling mini me to keep his/her legs crossed as we still want a suprise! Painted his/her room yesterday (with DH!) and shopping trip IS next w.e!

Well I'll be by again later for a proper catch up Take care All

nervousmum2be · 30/08/2005 12:50

My official due date is the 7th Oct, but i've been booked to see the consultant at 36 weeks - if Baby hasn't turned by then, they are apparantly not likely to (they usually expect first babies to be 'head down' from about 32 weeks), and elective sections are usually done around the 38 week mark to minimise the likelihood of you going into spontaneous labour first!

It does sound like they are leaving things a bit late for you - i would speak to your midwife again, if it were me. Giving birth feet-first is not something i particularly fancy!

nervousmum2be · 30/08/2005 12:54

Good luck for your scan CPT. Very - i haven't 'seen' my boo since my 20 week one. Still, not too much longer to wait now

Redtartanlass · 30/08/2005 13:24

Hi
On my lunch hour at work, and stumbled on this site!!! WOW, why did I not find it 6 months ago!!! I'm due 10 October, sooooooo tired and weepy and sick of everybody telling me it's because of my age!! 39!! IS everybody too tired and too hot or is it my age????

Jockey · 30/08/2005 13:47

Hi redtartanlass - I'm feeling like you but then I am 41! To be honest I remember feeling exactly the same with my other pregnancies at this stage. I'd like to think it is not just age.... .

Redtartanlass · 30/08/2005 14:34

Had my first 'baby' 20 years ago, when I was a young nimble 19 year old!!! 2nd baby 18 months ago!! But don't remember this over whelming tiredness, thought I was going into early labour on Sat as had such terrible pains and cramps and felt so bad. But...still here!!! Midwife checked bloods etc last week, everything ok, she suggested if I still feel bad, to make appointment with GP!!!

BigBumpBonnie · 30/08/2005 15:20

Hi, Redtartanlass and everyone else! I'm similar to you in that I had my first child nearly 17 years ago, another one 2 years ago and this will be my third. It's by far my worst pregnancy so far, I'm tired, in pain a lot of the time and just feel thoroughly crappy! Oh well not too much longer to go now.

Nervousmum2be, I've got my consultants appointment at the hospital next Friday as well to see if babies turned or is still breech and will be discussing options then. I'll be 36 weeks then as well. I think she's still breech but can't be certain.

Elf, I'd definately check on your appointment as I think 36 weeks is the norm as then they should bring you in at 38 if a c section is necessary. Well worth checking.

Jess, glad to see you back and glad you had a nice break

Jockey · 30/08/2005 16:19

Redtartanlass - no wonder you're tired if you have a toddler as well - it's not as if you can put your feet up as and when you like it is it?
Must admit I'm feeling shattered now and waiting for the new school term to begin!

Hoping some of these breech babies turn and those feelng poorly start to feel better very soon. Can't believe how close October is now! Frightening .

Redtartanlass · 30/08/2005 19:49

BigBumpBonnie & Jockey - I just want to say a big thank you, at the risk at sounding absolutely pathetic, I just don't feel so alone!! Just felt I was bumbling along, working full time, with a mad toddler, a selfish 20 year old still at home and all the rest of it and nobody was there to tell me what a 'clever girl' I am. Normally a Mum's job, but mine has gone to that great nursery in sky!! I feel sooooooo much better having big moan- thanks

SusiS · 30/08/2005 20:16

welcome redlass - and just for you 'what a clever girl you are!!!'

and no, you are not alone. i am so hot and tired and i too have to look after a toddler (16 months); just turned 37 btw - when's your last day at work???

bonnie 'fingers crossed' that your bubs turns!

elf seems a bit odd to me to leave it that late! latest the 7th you should talk about birth options. and i always thought they don't let you go over more than 14 days?!

nervousmum2be · 30/08/2005 20:21

Went to Mothercare this afternoon to get a present for my friend that just had the prem baby. i was amazed just how tiny their things go down to! I got her a really cute top and trouser set, and picked up another pack of 0-3 month sleep suits for my comparative monster of a baby, as i'm really paranoid nothing i've got is going to fit now, post the MW's comments this morning!

Lexie100 · 31/08/2005 14:38

went for the second appointment for my root canal surgery and made a complete fool of myself by nearly fainting and throwing up. I had to have the rest done sitting upright, poor old dentist.

Oh well all done now.

Soooo hotand still need to get a few more things before baby born - like cot and pushchair. I'm so unorganised.

Antinatal start tonight, excited yet nervous! Anyone else going to classes.

42 DAYS to go.

Elf1981 · 31/08/2005 15:42

Ooops, have caused a bit of confusion with my post!

I'm 34 weeks today. The midwife has said she'll see me at 35 weeks and then at 37 weeks and refer me to the hospital at 38 weeks to discuss with a consultant about the birth if Boo remains breech. I think by putting the dates I confused everybody!

Sorry!

morningpaper · 31/08/2005 20:10

Redtartanlass: I am SOOO hot it's all I can do to put clothes on. I am living in the most hideous enormous 1980s maternity dress which is so ugly people physically flinch when they see me. BUT it's cool ... and I'm SOOOO hot and sweaty!

Trying to beat thrush at the mo - had three nights of Canestan pessaries from the GP, am hoping that will have sorted it out!

Braxton Hicks are annoying me a lot still - VERY uncomfortable indeed.

4.5 weeks for me now... got a builder coming to do our drive 'in two weeks' - well THAT was well planned NOT.

Redtartanlass · 31/08/2005 20:53

SusiS - thanks for that. I finish work the week I?m due ? 10 Oct. However just found out today that the unions have won 6 months full pay maternity leave, instead of 14 weeks!! Wee-hee. When I has my last ds, I went back to work when he was 10 weeks.

Morningpaper ? I know what you mean about maternity clothes, what happens to our fashion sense when you get pregnant. Especially now, everything is just for comfort.

Lexie100 ? don?t feel too bad, all I?ve got is a couple of cute dresses for a 3-6 month old and half a doz vests. Absolutely nothing else!!

Piggiesmum · 31/08/2005 22:12

Woohoo finished work today for good as they've let me finish a couple of weeks early.

Redtartanlass - you sound as organised as me. All I have is a few vests, hat and booties and a couple of teddies and thats only because other people have been buying things!!. And I haven't booked any ante-natal clases yet! They're probably all booked now

Someone at work asked me if I had everything sorted yet as they knew someone who had their baby 5 weeks early!. I replied if this one comes 5 weeks early he'll be sleeping in a drawer under the bed

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 01/09/2005 07:37

Morning girls!

Well midwife appointment yesterday went well, measuring 1cm under bump wise, heart rate was 152, bp 100/55 and NO LONGER BREACH but still free so things could stil change!

NExt appointment 2 weeks!

BigBumpBonnie · 01/09/2005 08:35

I'm sooooooooooo pleased for you Jess. I wish I could see the midwife before going to the hospital as I might well have an unecessary visit. Last time I saw the midwife was 32 weeks when she spotted the breech and booked me into the hospital for next week when I'll be 36 weeks. Why didn't she get me to go back there first as by the time I get to the hospital hopefully the baby will have moved. Plus my doctors is only at the end of my road whereas the hospital is quite a way away. I might phone and get an appointment to get the position checked again before going all the way up there! Anyway at least one breech has turned. Lets keep our fingers crossed that all the others do the same!!

BigBumpBonnie · 01/09/2005 08:38

I've just realised today is midwife day at my doctors so have just made an appointment for 10.40am to check the position again. Wish me luck!!!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 01/09/2005 09:03

Good luck bonnie - lets hope you can join me in the "changed position" club!
