Spirael it's good to hear my DH isn't the only fruitloop person that leaps around screaming in his sleep. The spider was actually quite funny compared with his usual dreams that there is a person in the room attacking us. I have been very close to a heart attack on a number of occasions when he's been shouting that there's someone in the room and I've woken up expecting to be confronted by a knife wielding maniac. At least if the spider had been real I could have squashed it with a shoe Grin

penguin sorry you're still feeling sick. Mine was definitely always worse in the evenings too. It's supposed to peak at 9-10 weeks so hopefully you're nearly over the worst of it.

MrsWajs If the line appeared after the time limit then you're supposed to ignore it - although it is super hard not to go back and keep checking discarded tests. You need to test again - it's been a few days so if you are pg there should be lots more hormones by now to give you a stronger result. Good luck, hopefully we'll see you back here soon.

I went shopping for LO yesterday, and went slightly crazy with all of the cute clothes. I think he now has enough vests/sleepsuits that I'll never need to do any washing Blush I did stop myself from buying the cutest towel ever - it's a Peter Rabbit one with little bunny ears on - but it was 3x the price of other towels and I was supposed to be bargain hunting. Will probably end up going back to get it in a few days though...

SoarAlba got a BFP on the other thread!! Grin

Hey all

Quiet on here - hope everyone is ok and just out enjoying the summer!

Am feeling a little low today - had my 31 week m/w appt this morning and discovered that Mr Teeny is breech - and it looks like he's been like this for a while, given the rib pressure I've been feeling for the last month. I know there's heaps of time for him to turn, and the m/w has given me tips on helping him to turn, but their default position if he stays like this is a c-section at 39 weeks. The m/w said that my hosp won't attempt a natural delivery because the team aren't experienced in natural breech deliv and looking at the independant m/w costs in my area that's out too. I guess I'm just sad about potentially not being able to deliver naturally - all my preconceived ideas about using the birthing pool etc out the window.

I know I should just be glad that this has been flagged now so we can deal with it (ECV etc) if he stays like this, and if I think rationally, then the pro's of having an elec c/s over fighting for a natural birth and potentially having to have an emcs are obviously higher, I'm just disappointed!!

Will stop wallowing now and concentrate on thinking 'turning' thoughts!

WorrisomeHeart · 09/08/2010 13:30

Sorry, meant to say congrats to soaralba and any news mrswajs?

fudge thinking of you today too

fulhamgirl · 09/08/2010 16:06

Heya guys!!

Wow been so busy Lily 4 months old today can believe it she is now on baby rice and rusks and starting to sit up by herself!! Nights have been a big challenge which is y I havent been on here. Over last 2 weeks she has started sleeping 8-5.30 :)!!

So nice to hear from u all
.
Oh and worri lily was breach hun nothing u can do they can move upto 36 weeks but a c section is not bad I promise

xxxxxxxxxxxx

fulhamgirl · 09/08/2010 16:11

oh fudge so sorry to hear your news thinking of u

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hermya321 · 09/08/2010 16:35

Worrisome I wouldn't worry up until right before the end as Fulham said. Mine was breech at the last check up, but they still have quite a bit of room to flip at this stage. Get thee to spinning babies and that should help you out with some excercises you can do. You may have to spend a bit of time with your bottom in the air though. Alternatively go into a dark room and shine a torch where you want the head to be or shove a pack of frozen peas at the top of your bump. I don't know if this works but I've seen these ideas bandied around a bit.

Bunny Good job you're not near me, we have a Peter Rabbit shop with all manner of cuteness (I keep away from there).

Fulham Wow, four months old!! That is so mad, it doesn't seem like five minutes ago you were telling us all about your evil boss from hell and we were planning some sort of attack. Grin So lovely to hear from you though.

Fudge Have you had anymore news from your scan this week at all?

OP posts:
bunnygirl80 · 10/08/2010 02:35

worrisome You've still got lots of time for LO to turn. One of my friends had her baby at 33 weeks and he was head down when her labour started but then his bottom was the first thing to emerge, so he was obviously able to spin round mid-labour without anybody even noticing. So I think it's quite common for them to turn in all sorts directions before 36 weeks

hermya I would probably move into the peter rabbit shop if I lived near you

fulham good to hear Lily's doing so well

fudge I'm thinking of you. Hope you have had better news this week

Ozziegirly · 10/08/2010 08:33

Worrisome my baby was transverse breach until about 32 weeks and then suddenly turned, I felt it quite clearly one morning. So don't give up hope, there are so many things you can do, your own positions, moxibustion, ECV etc etc.

fulham lovely to hear from you.

Congratulations to soaralba and Mrswajs too, really wonderful news.

fudge hoping there is good news at your next scan.

All good with me, maternity leave is lovely, very relaxing. I've been busy having acupuncture etc but I haven't had the slightest twinge of anything yet and I'm now 38 weeks.

But the good news is that my Obs is now happy to let me go to term but no further, which at least gives the baby an extra week to get himself ready!

I've had two traces and both were fine, sugars are pretty much under control and I'm generally feeling good.

Fingers crossed for labour at any time (after friday, when I have my haircut Smile )

WorrisomeHeart · 10/08/2010 18:40

Thanks for the reassurances folks (and the link hermya, it's brilliant!). Am feeling much less despondent about it all today - as you say, there's stacks of time for him to get himself sorted. My DH reckons it's the antipodean in me coming out and my uterus is Southern Hemisphered - not quite sure if thats a scientific rationale!

Fab news ozzie! Will keep fingers crossed for labour twinges post Friday!

fulham great to hear from you!

MrsWajs · 10/08/2010 20:53

Hey guys, just popping in to let you know that I still have no news but also still no AF/ERTD so keep your fingers crossed for me to be joining you soon!

SaorAlba · 10/08/2010 21:15

Hi all.

I've been a bit nervous about making my first post on here as I wasn't sure I was ready to graduate. Had a doctor's appointment yesterday though and she reckons I'm 6+1 today with an EDD of April 4th.

If I hadn't felt pretty such this afternoon I might be more doubtful about being here - but nausea and sore boobs have to be a good sign!

The doctor pointed out how lucky I was to have had a bfp so quickly (last pill 24th May, bfp 7th august), which I knew already but it made me wonder if she was ttc. It's easy to think of doctors as some kind of superhuman beings, but her saying that made me think twice.

Don't have my first midwife appointment until 11 weeks which is a bit crap. At the moment I feel like a bit of a fraud. I have a bfp, but everyone else just has to take my word for it. The gp doesn't test. I kind of feel like I need proof that it's not just all in my head. IYSWIM.

Anyway, hello all. A bit of a me me me post here, oops.

Hermya321 · 10/08/2010 21:55

MrsW How very bizzare, I do hope it is good news for you .

Soar Nausea and sore boobs are a great sign, apparently the more hormones the better it is. The GP took my word for it as well If you want a quick BFP I took my last pill on January 15th this year and by Febuary 17th I was staring at a positive test thinking 'really??'. I don't think it's common, but some people do get a fertility spike after they finish the pill. Also remember if you have any pain and bleeding you can go back to your Doctors and ask for an EPU referral and if you feel really really desperate you can always go for a private scan. I think Bunny on here did that one at nine weeks. But CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Grin

OP posts:
Ozziegirly · 11/08/2010 00:30

SaorAlba I felt the same - I did three pregnancy tests and then went to see my GP, who said "well, pregnancy tests are really accurate so we won't bother testing again".

I had no symptoms at all so I spent from week 5 until about week 10 when I saw the Obs just thinking I was imagining it! I clearly recall going to that first appointment where I had a dating scan just expecting them to say "I'm sorry, there's nothing there", but sure enough, there was little Pip, hiding away in there. When we saw that tiny baby I don't think DH and I have ever smiled so much in our lives.

I feel quite emotional about it now, as Pip is now massive and currently kicking me in the ribs!

bunnygirl80 · 11/08/2010 10:11

ozzie that's great that you have another week to coax LO one out of his own accord. I'm sure booking a haircut is on the list of self-induction techniques Smile

soaralba congrats on the the BFP. When I went to my doctor she was impressed that it'd only taken 5 months for me to get pg - why do they only tell us that it's meant to take ages after it's happened?! Smile I still didn't believe I was pg until I saw my first scan though....I was convinced they'd tell me I'd never been pg and I'd imagined the whole thing Hmm

I've been a right whingebag this week. I've suddenly started feeling really fat, can't get comfy in bed at night, and my pelvis hurts if I walk too much. I'm only 26 weeks and it's starting to feel like the rest of this pg is going to take 100 years. DH is out at rugby training tonight so might go and have a long bath and wallow in self pity a bit - that normally makes me feel a bit more like my usually happy self

Ozziegirly · 11/08/2010 12:27

bunny I agree re the haircut! I've also organised an eyebrow wax and eyelash tint for Monday and getting a manicure on Tuesday - I figure between all these things surely I'll go into labour!

Bath sounds really nice - I had one last night and it did feel really nice. And (TMI) I shaved my legs for the first time in a month as I could actually reach the buggers. So then I emerged having done a face mask and de-fuzzed feeling a lot more attractive Grin

haloflo · 11/08/2010 18:40

Evening all!

worrisome I am sending you some good baby turning vibes.

ozzie Woo! 38 weeks! You can have some baby arriving vibes (for after Tuesday now?!)

bunny Sorry you are feeling a bit down, I hope got that bath and manage to treat yourself a bit over the next few weeks.

soar Congrats! I didn't even go to my GP to get the pg confirmed but I know what you mean about feeling like a fraud. I have symptoms (sickness, sore breasts and tiredness) but even then I still wonder if I'm actually just suffering with a bug!

All good news from me. I'm 8 weeks exactly today which feels like a mini milestone. ( soar mini milestones have helped me through these early weeks) I made my booking in appointment for this time next week and hopefully my next scan won't be too far away after that. I've been lucky with sickness as its remained constant (and therefore reassuring) but seems manageable with sleep and food.

The only spanner in the works is weight gain. I think I've put on a few pounds (am scared of the scales) and my size 14 trousers are all a getting bit tight (my waist is about 2 inches larger) Is this bloating or my uterus expanding to make way for the baby? (I'm regular so it's not constipation that's the issue) It seems worse in the evening than in the morning.

Do I buy some cheap size 16s? (I only own 12s and 14s) When did everyone else's clothes feel tight? What would you wise frolickers advise?

WorrisomeHeart · 11/08/2010 18:51

halo congrats on reaching the 8 week milestone! I would definitely recommend more comfy trousers - if that means a size up then great, but if you can find some mat trousers with an adjustable waistband (I have some fab ones from Jojomaman Bebe that are still working) then you may just want to go for those. I am fairly convinced that tight trousers didn't help the sickness! And you'll be into maternity stuff before you know it... Grin (TBH I am completely bored of all my clothes now, but as I hvae such a short time to go, I can't justify buying more!)

bunny sorry you're feeling rotten - hope the bath helped!

soaralba I agree with the others about the feeling like a fraud! I, too, was convinced I'd be told it was all a dream at the scan (this despite the nausea, exhaustion, general off-ness..)

Still no turning on the baby front - DH has been shining a torch at the bottom of my bump as apparently this helps... Hmm

addie81 · 11/08/2010 19:47

Hello all. I had my 32 wk doctors appointment today and my little girl has flipped back to head down again! Marvellous. I didn't feel this happen worriesome - so yours might already be head down without you knowing it.

Anyway, hopefully now that she is head down again she will stay that way. Just have to get the echo of my heart out of the way on Friday, and providing that's all ok its all steam ahead for a nice natural birth.

The only slight problem is the size of the baby! Bump now measuring 35.5 weeks at 32 weeks! is anyone else measuring 3.5 weeks ahead? They will send me for a growth scan at 36 weeks and then take a view on whether they need to induce early because of the hugeness of my baby! I definitely don't have gestational diabetes so I don't know why she is such a little sumo wrestler.

No word from poor fudge this week - I am thinking of you. I hope everything is ok chez Mr and Mrs Fudge.

Hermya321 · 11/08/2010 21:18

Ozzie You also need to make arrangements to meet up with a friend who you haven't seen in ages and want to really really want to see.

addie Gosh, 3.5 weeks ahead you must feel like theres no more room at the inn. All my measurements have been on date, I have a very establishment baby.

Worrisome Have you tried the frozen peas yet?

OP posts:
bunnygirl80 · 11/08/2010 23:27

ozzie with all those things organised you are definitely going to go into labour soon. I'm still just about managing to shave my legs in the shower - it's a bit tricky reaching all the way to my ankles so they either end up with loads of cuts or not getting done at all. Might have to start making more of an effort once the weather warms up so people don't start running screaming from the hairy ankled pregnant lady Grin

halo my clothes were feeling tight by about 8-10weeks, it was worse in the evenings as I seemed to bloat up during the day. I tied a hair bobble around the button on my jeans to allow a bit of expansion as I didn't want to buy any new clothes until 12weeks (I decided buying bigger clothes might make something go wrong Hmm).

Lots of people recommended buying clothes a size bigger as they'll come in useful after baby has arrived....apparantly it can be a bit depressing still being in mat clothes 3 months after you've given birth Smile

worrisome hope the torch shining has the desired effect Grin

addie glad that LO has returned to being head down. Like hermya all my measurements have been rather boringly average. Haven't had my bump measured though as my obs does a scan every visit and measures baby instead. At my last visit his thigh bone was 4cm long, which is the same length that the whole of him was at my first ever scan - it is amazing how much he's grown Smile

Didn't get my bath last night as DH got home early. Had a nice chat with him instead and he told me I'm not fat I'm looking lovely so that cheered me up anyway Smile Seems like this pg thing might be catching as 3 members of his rugby team have announced that their wives are now pg. I always thought they spent their time talking about sport and beer and "men's business" but it seems they've spent the last few months talking about difficulties some of them have had TTC! They've been treating DH as some sort of TTC guru since he successfully managed to impregnate me Confused It's quite sweet really to think of all these big rugby types sitting around at training talking about their feelings and things Smile

haloflo · 12/08/2010 16:56

worrisome I've had a look on that website & will hopefully feel brave enough to buy something soon. I noticed a discount advertised on the banner at the top so will be using that! I hope your baby follows addie's baby soon with the turning. The torch thing sounds strange but I reckon everything is worth a go.

bunny I feel I don't want to buy any maternity clothes before 12 weeks just in case too! Probably a bit silly looking back for you now but glad you know where i'm coming from. Very good point about post birth clothes as its unlikely I'll be squeezing into my 12s for a few months.

addie I can't help you - maybe post on pregnancy if you are curious? I hope everything works out anyway. Maybe you will get to meet your LO a little sooner than planned.

Anyway I tried on the size up and they just looked too big. They fit round the waist but bagged on the crotch and legs. I may go back a week or 2 and try again then. For now I'll give the hair bobble trick a go and will also try these maternity bands I bought from New Look. So far they seem ok although maybe not that subtle.

Also thinking of fudge this week. xx

Hermya321 · 12/08/2010 17:32

Haloflo Have you tried the old hairbobble trick? Thats kept me going for quite a while. Or alternatively you could try a bumpband.

Bit of an update from me, my reduced hours at work seem to be working well and we're pretty much there on the baby stuff as well. I've also been stocking up on cloth nappies as well. Its all very exciting. I had my 28 week check last week and all was fine, they're still keeping an eye on my bloods as I had low platelets at the last one and they were a bit worried.

Baby is doing well, he's super wriggly and I can actually feel his outline through my tummy sometimes. I felt his head the other day and it came as some sort of bizare revelation that my child did indeed posess a head. He's also started to get hiccups which is just so adorable. I just keep feeling him jerk slightly and I can't help but think of him all curled up in there.

How is everyone doing on the stretchmark front, I've been covering myself in bio oil since about the nine week mark and so far I don't seem to have any on my tummy. My boobs however are a different story, looks like someones drawn on them with a felt tip. Oh well, it could be worse I suppose. I'm not counting my chickens yet, but I'm hoping to escape them. Is anyone else doing bio oil type stuff?

I'm am now in my maternity stuff now as everything is either too short or just too tight. Next t-shirts are so comfy, I'm planning to get some more in a few weeks just to give me a bit more colour in my life.

Well thats about that. I hope Fudge is ok, thinking of her.

OP posts:
addie81 · 12/08/2010 19:33

Hermya I am not doing any bio-oil type stuff on the basis that my siblings who are both doctors insisted that stretch marks are caused by movement of collagen layers deep in the skin and nothing you apply to the surface of your skin can possibly make any difference. I also have no stretch marks on my tummy but my boobs are also covered in them so we match! Its miserable isn't it? I would much rather have them on my tummy than on my boobs where they look revolting.

Is anyone else mortified by the growth of their boobs? Mine have always been a very pert and perky 34c - now they are bursting out of a 38e bra, and are much lower and saggier looking than they used to be. I am worried they will never recover themselves and will end up really saggy! I know this sounds very vain, but my boobs have always been one of the only parts of my body I actually liked!

Has anyone heard from whiteroses? She used to be a real regular but I don't think she has been on for ages. I hope everything is ok.

bunnygirl80 · 12/08/2010 23:25

halo I forgot about belly belts. I still use them with my normal jeans now - you just need long tops to cover up the fact that you're walking around with your flies undone

hermya glad work's going better for you

I can sometimes feel where LO is lying....I feil his head the other day and completely freaked out that I had a massive hard lump in my belly. Then I realised that I'm not dying of a terrible disease and it is in fact LO's head Blush

No stretchmarks yet. I'm not using bio-oil, but I do make sure I rub lots of body lotion into by bump, boobs and hips everyday. I'm of the school of thought that there's not much I can do to prevent stretchmarks, but there's no harm in keeping my skin soft and smelling lovely Smile

addie I've gone from a 32c/d to bursting out of a 32f. However, they have stayed really perky and I've now got fab cleavage even without a bra (not that I am going about braless). I am really hoping they don't start to sag.

I don't think you're vain, as I've always felt that my booobs are one of my best features too. Before we started TTC I made DH promise that once our familiy's complete that he'll pay for me to get my boobs put back where they came from Grin
