cupcakefairy · 07/05/2010 15:31

Congratulations hormonalmum! And to dh delivering her!! Amazing!
Great news about heffa too thanks for letting us know SK

MDM I've been having a lazy day watching election coverage too our seat was one of the ones gone from red to blue...bah.
Ha, re journals- last time we went to DH's parents, MIL got out all dh's baby stuff- she'd recorded everything from what gifts he was given, who visited, dates all his different teeth came through and a diary she'd written. Dh is the first baby of 5 & needless to say she kept nothing of the sort for the other 4!! So I think I'll steer clear of that kind of record-keeping for the sake of my subsequent babies! (I'm a second child so know the complex well )

pigleychez · 07/05/2010 15:32

Just wanted to question you all again.

Put DD down for a nap at 1 and since then been getting a tight pains across the bottom of my bump and pains in my hips and top of my thighs. Had back ache all day too. Hard to describe really.
Walking about is really painful and Im finding myself doubling up and leaning on everything as im moving around.

Doesnt seem so bad when im sitting down but its still there and my hips are killing sitting down.

I never had BH's with DD so not really sure what to make of anything. BH's?

Thankfully DD is very happy colouring at the table!

LuckyC · 07/05/2010 16:10

yay hormonal and dh and go pigley!!!!! onehanded typing xx

Sassles · 07/05/2010 16:27

Congrats to the new babies!! How exciting. Stuggling to catch up reading everything.

Baby brain is def kicking in as can't keep track of what everyone is doing. Even started making notes while reading through last time I was on.

hormonal Well done to you and DH on the delivery. Very impressive!

Hope all the new babies are feeding well!

I had consultant appoint today. Due date tomorrow. Head was engaged at 33 weeks, but for last week head totally free. Still that way and still back to back. grr.

Membrane sweep thing did come up, but it was a female consultant who I hadn;t seen before, so I said I was happy to let her do it if she thought it was a good idea. In the end as head is free, due date not till tomorrow and first baby, she decided she probably wouldn't be able to do it anyway. I'm also not too fed up yet, so quite happy to wait. Booked in for next Friday when they will do a sweep if still no baby.

Went to Morrisons after appointment and had a trolly with about 20 things, The checkout's were all really full, but no-one was at the self service, but I was chased away by a mean worker who said I couldn't use one of the four free checkout's because I had over 15 items. Was not impressed.

I then got to a till for the man behind me to try and squeeze in front of me as he only had 5 items. He wasn't impressed when I very politely said, "Sorry, no, but I am in a rush, do not have loads and you can use the self service area and I have been told I can't". He stood and glared at me the whole time. I'm very clearly, very pregnant too. Some people!

People kept knocking in to me with their trolley's too and almost hitting bump more than once. People are nuts!

wibblela · 07/05/2010 16:43

Congratulations to all the new mummies and especially congratulations to Hormonal's DH who delivered I am much impressed

Well, I had my sweep this morning, but it wasn't very successful. Cervix is soft but not dilated yet, and baby's head was easy to push out of the pelvis, MW did what she could, but doesn't think it will work. We shall see! I'm only just 39+1 weeks so not surprised things weren't ready. DH and I have been driving on bumpy roads, and other things which are meant to bring on labour. However if baby doesn't want to come out yet she won't!

I have just looked at SK's pics on FB - Jacob is so cute The girls look gorgeous too - you and DP are blessed parents. Have you had enough time yet to work out whether it is harder having girls or boys? I realy liked the fact that after two mins he was already feeding - good lad

Sassles - know what you mean about other people, it is like they have turned their brains off! I have temper issues whilst out shopping and in an electric scooter - people are always walking into me, not looking where they are going, and seem annoyed that a disabled person is in their way! I get really annoyed when people don't notice me - it's like I am invisible! Is it the same with prams?

Right had best go - RLT to drink I am finding it quite nice with a spoon of sugar in it - yes I am a Mary Poppins fan

Hobnobfanatic · 07/05/2010 16:52

More babies! Congratulations to Heffa and Hormonalmum. How lovely that daddy delivered DD!

Well, I went to the growth scan and baby is fine - though back to back still. Reckon it's 9lb ish - with a lb margin of error. So could be 8lb (please, please, please), or 10lb (noooooooO!). Plenty of fluid around baby; cord fine etc.
Recommended a sweep next week.

Do sweeps hurt? I wince just thinking about them!

memorylapse · 07/05/2010 16:57

SK..I love your pics of Jacob..I have one too of Olivia feeding after she was born..we had skin to skin straight away and she was searching for the breast..I love it when they do the breast crawl..Your LO is gorgeous..well done you..

I still cant beleive Im a mum of five..but I feel so proud of my three beautiful girls and two boys

Congrats to heffa too

Den26 · 07/05/2010 17:05

Congratulations to all new mummies & daddies

memorylapse · 07/05/2010 17:40

hobnob..I was given a sweep whilst waiting to be induced and it was uncomfortable..not painful..but not the most pleasant thing Ive had done

pamelat · 07/05/2010 18:49

Congratulations hormonalmum! You must be very proud of your DH too.

Pigley had just come online to post something similar. I have been so hormonal and so grumpy all day. DD has been awful but am sure some of it was down to how hormonal I am/was.

Anyway felt really upset, burst in to tears a few times today, and then this afternoon just felt really stroppy and down.

Then about an hour ago, I suddenly felt ok, in fact quite happy and then suddenly have what I can only describe as really bad back/bum and hip ache.

Not having contractions but hurts enough to need to stop what I am doing and sit down, a sort of heat sensation too.

I have given birth before, only 2 years ago, but genuinely could not remember how my contractions had started. This pain is constant rather than coming and going.

DH is putting DD to bed and we will see what happens.

I also really Need to eat fish and chips!!

Maybe just twinged something, will see how you get on pigley

pamelat · 07/05/2010 18:51

hormonal were your other labours fast?!

It sounds ideal but in reality I would imagine it was terrifying.

Eek, sounds like a few more might be delivering soon then

booboo what did you see at the cinema? Dh and I are film fiends but we've just had to cancel our unlimited cinema cards due to lo's impending arrival...sad times!

SquirtsMum · 07/05/2010 19:43

Congrats to Hormonal MBM and Alle!!!!

Was ment to have a sweep today but Squirts head is no where near engaged so cervix was having none of it MW seems to think that baby's head is going to be a little bit too big to fit through my pelvis as its never really engaged (3/5ths is the closest I think I've got too) and feels fairly large compared to pelvis, how she knows this I have no idea!! Having a scan nxt friday to see about size and positioning, but the possibility of a section came up and tbh as much as I would love a natural floaty birth, whatever gets Squirt out and leaves me in one piece is all good by me now!!! MW doesn't know that I would rather have an elcs than labour for hours and be told I'm having an emsc because of failure to progress, but its something I'll be talking to her about asap.
I'm not as sad as I thought I would be at the mention of a section, it kinda means planning as to DM coming over and DP's paternity leave is a lot less stressful.

But having said that all - Squirt might be bloody small/fit with ease/turn up tomorrow so I'm really not letting anything get to me atm

Off to read everyone else's posts for the last 24hrs as I've been caught up in my own little world

Good luck to those getting twinges etc hopefully we'll be seeing more LO's soon

xxxx

Hollyoaks · 07/05/2010 19:54

Congratulations Heffa and hormonal and well done to your dh

Sorry for complete lack of personals but you lot are far too chatty during the day Glad it's Friday, one more week at work, I'm hoping all this activity so late on will encourage lo to come earlier rather than later. I'm feeling so much pressure now and classed as full term on Monday so ready to go.

Hope to hear some more announcements soon and hope all those still waiting aren't in too much pain. Can't recommend a hot soak and hot water bottle enough.

ML - gorgeous new pics of Olivia.

SK - jacob is very cute, lovely family picture.

mollybob · 07/05/2010 20:40

congrats heffa, mustbemad and hormonalmum

no personals here either - am soooo tired after late night in A+E with DD on Wednesday (fell off scooter, hit head and went a bit wooozy - better by time she was seen) and the blooming election last night

38 weeks tomorrow and having weird tightenings and pains in upper legs - no pattern so nothing real just yet

need to pack my bag properly though and set up the cot - am just assuming babe with be 2 weeks late that DD and DS but think I'm just in denial

baby, whay baby?

schipo · 07/05/2010 21:06

Let me add my congratulations to Alle, Hormonal and Heffa

And good luck to pigley/squirts/hobnob - keep us posted!

Last night I had a dream mine arrived. That doesn't really count does it

Carikube · 07/05/2010 22:53

Congrats Heffa hope you're both doing well.

Just back from the cinema as we made the most of MIL being here to have a night out. Saw Iron Man 2 at the Imax and it was pretty good. It also means that DH is now in a good mood so hopefully that will last for the weekend . Have bad backache now though so I'm guessing the cinema seats weren't the best for my posture with the bump...

Hope everyone has good weekends and look forward to hearing more birth announcements soon.

AnAngelWithin · 08/05/2010 08:56

morning all!! I see the arrivals list is getting bigger and the waiting lounge is smaller!! Congrats to heffa, hormonal and alle.

Not much to report here really. Felt more pressure down there the past few days. Was unbelievably grumpy yesterday and this morning as well. My hips are killing me. Raining like mad as well so not like we can even go to the park. DS1 has got the most godawful cough as well which (being a man) is worse than anything ever! DH is working today. To be honest I could do with him here with me. I've pretty much had enough now. 16 days (ish) to go.

OP posts:
booboomonster · 08/05/2010 08:58

Wow has the thread finally gone quiet? Is everyone having their babies? x

booboomonster · 08/05/2010 09:02

X posted Angel. I hate it when DH works weekends - i need those breaks right now. It's pouring here too. We are watching beebies! Hope yr day gets better!

Hollyoaks · 08/05/2010 09:06

Booboo/Angel - dh working here three, also watching Beebies but no rain here at the minute just quite windy.

No babies here either, just an average nights sleep with two toilet breaks and our neighbour from the house opposite having his car towed home at midnight and being woken up when it was lowered off the back of the van.

Nearly 37 weeks so starting to get anxious that its actually time for this baby to arrive.

booboomonster · 08/05/2010 09:20

Yes I just hit the 37 mark this week - we are finally getting there! I think I am kind of ready now (well, ready as I'll ever be!)

booboomonster · 08/05/2010 09:21

37 week mark I meant !

Hollyoaks · 08/05/2010 10:27

I'm totally ready, really fed up now as still in quite a lot of pain and exhausted from work.

MW said to start to try fresh pineapple, curry, long walks etc... from Monday when I'm 37 weeks. Will be trying everything to get this one out.

It is very quiet on here today, wonder if anyone is having a baby today

MarquiseDeMerteuil · 08/05/2010 10:37

Late start for me this morning, being very lazy, and sent DH out into the miserable weather for croissants and the paper! No plans for the whole weekend, which makes a change for us! Might see if I can finish the quilt I'm making for the moses basket (I think I'm turning into my mum!). The sewing machine doesn't work, so I've had to sew the whole thing by hand.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!
