stac this particular friend of mine cancels on an almost regular basis so although its still disappointing it didnt come as a massive shock, I just stuck a film on, ate popcorn then fell asleep!
Yeah it would be great if we could all meet up in RL.

anifers my baby was lying diagonal at my 28 week app, so I had another appointment booked for 30 weeks and he was head down and think he still is. I can feel where his head is when he gets hiccups, I think hes slightly over to the right hand side though.

stac14 · 26/05/2010 18:28

anifers i think this can mean c-s but it can take up to week 36 for them to settle into head down position so dont worry. They can also try turning the baby themselves.

dh i hate that last minute cancelling my friend did it last night too, more inconvenient than anything else. I am in all day tomorrow and maybe friday waiting for deliveries so boring lol x

Anifers I wouldn't worry too much yet. DS came in and out of engaged at every appointment we had up to 42 weeks!!
And no, they don't automatically give you a section if the baby is breech, although it is grounds to ask for one if you would prefer.
In general they want you to try a natural birth, although the may do a manipulation which can be very painful and if your LO is anything like DS he will flip back over within 30 seconds of them getting him in the right place!!

My LO was engaged at 28 weeks but has moved out again now [relieved smile]. I don't think the dates are right, but I really really don't want to have the baby before we move. (Yes, I know, we are cutting it fine, but I'm sure I can keep my legs crossed until the 16th, right?)

memphis83 · 26/05/2010 18:47

anifers if its your 1st it can engage at around 34 weeks, but can drop in anytime up to 38 weeks, but if its your 2nd they can engage and then disengage again and not engage until your water break, i can feel a hard lump like an orange to the right just above belly button and thats LOs bum then he kicks under ribs!!
gracie i love it that you want to keep lo inside for longer, im wishing it to happen very soon!! this is the longest 9 months of my whole life it didnt drag this much when i booked a holiday 12 months b4 i went!!!

ive just cooks 1st proper meal since being ill ,chilli with garlic dough balls!! as dh is away tomorrow hes taking me out for a drink and hopefully a pudding!!!

Gracie123 · 26/05/2010 18:53

memphis Enjoy your drinks and hopefully pudding!!

Wish DH would take me out, unfortunately he won't be home from work 'til 23.45 tonight Stupid 6th form with their extended curfew!!!

I really want LO out now (rib pain and swollen ankles are doing my nut!) but hate the idea of going to local hospital again (it is really terrible) and also don't have a nursery in this house!

Plus moving house with a new born and toddler will be a nightmare. It's not like we are moving down the road. It's a 5 hour drive away!! I desperately want to have a few things unpacked and sorted before LO arrives (e.g. a kitchen, some bathroom items, maybe a bed )

We are moving on the 16th and LO is due around 21st, so hopefully will have had five days to unpack in (optimistic?)

Chulita · 26/05/2010 20:25

gracie we're moving 2 weeks-ish after this lo gets here and I'm not looking forward to that. DD's a sensitive sleeper so it'll throw her off and then a newborn too...just hoping I don't have a cs or it'll be a nightmare. We're moving several hours away too - grr!

I've been entertaining family for the last 4 days, much needed morale boost for me. I've read the thread, just too tired to respond to everyone. Hope you all have a brilliant sleep tonight

Anifersgirl · 26/05/2010 20:27

Is this your first Gracie? hopefully you'll have a few days grace.

And thanks to everyone for the tips about breach/transverse. I'm not panicking yet, but I was curious as to what might happen if she keeps wriggling for the next 2 months!

At the moment I've got some wriggling under my ribs - not sure what limb it is though! I find it weirdly frustrating not knowing what she's up to in there. I wish I had a little womb window so I could peak in and see what's where.

Wait, wait..is that hiccups?

Even though I don't believe in horoscopes at all, I weirdly don't want to give birth until after the 22nd, as I'm dead set on having a Leo, like me. I also want a few days after my maternity leave starts, so I'm hoping LO is late.

stac14 · 26/05/2010 20:30

good on you gracie i would not be as brave i'm already in a panic about bil getting the decorating done. Fed up waiting.

memphis enjoy your drinks and defo get pudding. I can't wait for lo to be here, the pelvic pain, tiredness and dodgey boob is taking its toll. Only 7wks today till elective yay

Had lasagne and chips for dinner it was lovely but i was a bit greedy and overate now feel full up to my neck lol

A nice bit of news today is my niece, who lost her baby at new year is pregnant again. Shes nervous but excited. Oh and the physio gave me a new band, so not much help but i'll give a try. How are you all? X

stac14 · 26/05/2010 20:39

anifers i am a leo too, very strong willed and stubbourn, defo not wanting lo having my nature lol. In saying that my mum was cancerian we got on most of the time wonder if it will be the same with my daughter being a cancerian, scary thought. When are you in august? Im the 14th. Love the idea of a womb window, then we could see them all the time x

MLIC I had the same, the belly is moving around and it is very uncomfortable now... I also have awful acid reflux now... Might be the orange juice I drank for dinner. 4 and a bit weeks to go, not sure my belly can stretch anymore!

Gracie123 · 26/05/2010 21:34

No Anifers, not my first, and due to complications with DS birth I have to have a CS chulita

TBH I'd probably be ok moving if I'd had a natural birth, but I had quite a long recovery time after CS last time (I don't respond too well to the anaesthetic) and don't want to be stuck in hospital up here if we have it on, say the 15th, then DH and DS have to move out on 16th, and I'm left in hospital with new born for 5-8 days before they decide I can leave - and then 5 hour journey (the 40 min one after last CS was painful enough - stupid country roads!!)

Problem is they are not sure on my dates, so expecting I could go into labour any time from the beginning of July, and will just give me em c/s as soon as I do.

Really praying that doesn't happen. They've said if I don't go into labour by 21st they'll do a section then, so that's what I'm hoping for.

Chulita · 27/05/2010 08:18

gracie that's a nightmare! I really hope your LO holds off til the 21st!

DD and I were going to go to Monkey World today and it's raining How annoying! Not sure whether my friend wants to cancel either cos she hasn't answered so might just have to go and see if she turns up. Not much fun in the wet though...

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/05/2010 09:11

Morning all,

Its raining here too, very miserable and grey. Just as well I didnt have any plans, my friend who cancelled yesterday is coming over this afternoon (fingers crossed) and I need to go to Tesco at some point.

chulita could you not move your outing to another day? I agree going to places like that aren't much fun in this weather.
We had a family outing to the zoo on boxing day last year (DP's dad's idea, dont ask!) it was cold, wet, windy and really wasnt a fun trip. We stayed there for about 45 mins before coming home!

Gracie123 · 27/05/2010 10:08

Monkeyworld sounds amazing though! DS loves monkeys. Where is it?

We have cooler, but bright weather here today. Just been in to the village and it's like a ghost town! If the weather had been like this a few weeks ago everyone would be out in their sun glasses, but because we've had a nice week they all think they are freezing and are refusing to leave their houses ROFL

DS is still out in shorts and a T and I'm wearing flip flops and a vest top (albeit with a crochet cardi).

We met DH for 20 mins in a cafe for some OJ and DH said to DS, 'if I take two cups aways, how many do I have left?' and DS said 'one!'
DH replies 'No. Two take away two is...'
DS 'One table daddy!'

morning ladies, had a lovely night last night we went for a drink at a foody pub on the canal, i got excited that they now serve vimto!! i never thought that would get me excited and i had a lovely pudding, but LO was moving about so much the whole time i was almost in tears! had a bath to ease pain in back when i got home.
its a nice day here today, i think all you ladies moving around dd are very brave!

Gracie123 · 27/05/2010 10:30

I don't feel very brave!!!

Unfortunately it's a job relocation, (housing is tied to job) so we don't have any choice in the matter!!

stac14 · 27/05/2010 10:32

hi ladies, how are you all? Its dry and a bit dull, but still pretty warm.

chulita thats rotten bout your day, are you going with dd yourself?

Could they not have changed your moving date gracie it wont half be hard moving after c.s. Have you started packing?

memphis sounds like a fab night. Have you spoke to the doc bout the pains?

dh thats good you have stuff to do today, i'm stuck in as i'm waiting for a couple of deliveries to come. X

Morning - Just had my 34 week appointment and midwife said lo is in perfect position so let's hope baby stays that way. I just have my scan next week to check if my placenta has moved.
anifers you don't need to worry plenty of time for baby to move. How many weeks are you?
I didn't have a clue what my lo was doing until about two weeks ago although midwife said the baby was transverse. I found it frustrating not knowing which bit was which. But from about 2 weeks ago lo has settled and i can feel her bum...

oh i might as well reveal the sex as it is annoying typing out lo and baby all the time.
Anyway, her bum is up on the left and her long legs are out to the right and she kicks all the time there especially when you touch her feet! which is a really nice feeling.

The midwife also said my rib pain might be a trapped nerve.

stac was it you who was asking about the sex or someone else? we only found out at 20 week scan and have not have it confirmed again. and i sometimes think ooh what if she was wrong as my mum has bought an entire wardrobe of girl's clothes!

memphis83 · 27/05/2010 10:43

stac i spoke to them about pains its because ive been so ill and lost so much weight there isnt any fat to kick into so thats why its more painful (apparently) just had a reminder that i have neurologist on the 3rd so i have one wek with midwife, neurologist and consultant on the 9th (which is who makes final decision on induction) but it was neurologist who originally said i wouldnt be let to go full term so finger crossed he will also push for induction!!!

Gracie123 · 27/05/2010 10:44

Company are paying for the removal stac - which includes a team to pack all our stuff for us, so I have no intention of lifting a finger

Unfortunately, no. They won't move the date. We tried to negotiate with them, but they are being complete arses about it. Unfortunately our contract says they only have to give us 6 weeks notice so they (in their opinion) very generously wrote to us 10 weeks in advance of the move to give us the eviction date. They are well aware of our situation, and that is why they bothered to give us the extra 4 weeks notice IYSWIM.

kkfairybrains · 27/05/2010 11:34

gracie lol at your ds! so cute! you just never know whats going on in their little heads!
memphis glad you got out for a night just a pity the kicks are so painful for you.must be horrible!
bit drizzly here in ireland today! painter is here though so im like a child im so excited to see hall finished!
oh my god i just remembered!.........ha ha! dh i had a dream about you last night that your dp proposed to you! and you said yes and it was really exciting! i've no idea if your engaged or anything already, are you? im such a weirdo dreaming about people who i've never met! shows how much this thing has an influence on my life!

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/05/2010 12:17

kapars aww how lovely your having a girl! Its too hard to keep it to yourself lol.

kk thats a hilarious dream! Funnily enough no we're not engaged but I think it could be coming soon!! Maybe your dreams predict the future lol. Earlier in the year my mum gave me her engagement ring and I got it re-sized and its now in DP's posession to pop the question so who knows how exciting would it be to have a new baby AND engagement?!

stac14 · 27/05/2010 12:18

glad app went well kapars my aunt says i'm just paranoid about gender as ì have loads of pink lol i'm not sure of her position but i'm at mw on monday so hopefully find out then

Aw memphis you poor think, how early are you hoping to be induced?

Thats crap they can't come and go with the date gracie but at least you dont have to do the packing etc. Lol at ds they are so funny

kk think we're all wrapped up in mn, for me its great to talk bout all the stuff without being judged and great company. I think pregnancy would have dragged in if it wasnt for you all.

Well still waiting for deliveries, my uncle popped up hes a window cleaner and it was raining was nice to have some company
