VAG choc brownies for me please!

reggie Tanks for recipe! I have today made a huge batch of fancy fish pasta pie, which is a bit more in line with the brief than my previous efforts.

iggypiggywiggy I have never met AT at Wagmore, but I do sort of know her from another forum where she is font of all knowledge fo sho'. AT is very to the point and very frank, which is exactly what I like about her.

Helen was also great, she thinks our dog is very bright, shame about the owners! My thoughts not Helen's. Husband also learnt alot as he already thought he was Barbara Woohouse in the world of dog training.

I would certainly go back there again given half the chance even if it is a very long drive, its so worth it.

hossygals fanks for all your support on the riding front. I gave the nag a groom tonight and a bit of a chit chat and a sneaky kiss. Hoss does not do affection. Food. Yes. Cuddles. No. Snogs. No.

The thought of even changing into my jodhs is just too much. Getting on is easy, getting off is much harder. Trotting is a no. So I think its time to quit whilst I am ahead. Come October, assuming all is well and no stitches down there or no sunroof I hope to be back in the saddle. Well a girl can dream can't she?

PS -got my phone back so I should be able to check up on you all during the day! YAY.

SilverSky · 29/04/2010 21:32

Badminton is on Sky on the Red button on Sunday all day more or less, with coverage on the BBC of the XC highlights on Monday.

Anyone read/see the horrific accident Oli T had at Kentucky? Man that was nasty. They are saying his Air 2 saved him as it supported his neck. He was lucky he neck was not snapped right back as his horse virtually sat on his head as it left a front leg and had a rotational.

I went to Olympis this year - in the snow! Getting home was interesting I must say. Shopping wasn't as good as I hoped. I spent more on refreshments than on horsey goodies.

skihorse · 30/04/2010 07:37

reggie I am very angry and upset on your behalf. There are some threads on the Pregnancy section about being overweight during pregnancy with a lot of very good advice there about what you do and do not have to accept from these judgemental muppets - of course there's plenty of "well you'll kill your baybee if you're over 9 stone" rubbish too. E.g., there's a thread there right now where someone says you can refuse to be weighed - I didn't know that! I was told not to put on "too much" weight - I'd wanted to put on nothing, but as it is right now, it's 2 stone. So be it - they've not said anything and I'm sure if I'd walked in all bloated and puffy they'd have asked - but as it is they've not mentioned my weight since my first check in. My bloods are fine and my BP is excellent - and obviously baby is very healthy too. How fat is fat though? Isn't it quite different person-to-person? E.g., I'm fat, but I ride, ski and can run. Someone else my weight may be just a couple of stone from a stick/wheelchair. If they're going to be absolute cunts and you're going to get stupid and snide remarks everywhere you go - what about a private midwife? I could rant and rant for hours about this - about how someone with a BMI of 22 but smoking 2 packs of fags a day and eating crap could be putting their baby/themselves at greater risk than someone overweight. Also, why do so many medical peeps push for the c-section option? Wtf? Did my vagina seal over when I burst out of my size 12s? As you so rightly say, you got pregnant and they were happy enough to prescribe the pill to you - as an overweight woman (!) for years! Cunting cunts.

Speaking of cunts.

cunty After my trimmer broke down last weekend jailbait took his hair trimmers to it. I can't really see the damage properly but to feel around - I can only describe that it feels like the equivalent of a man who's bald on top but has a ponytail at the back.

I haz no red button. I haz european cable TV (BBC1 & BBC2) with no clever options. I will check out pony's link though for alternatives - but of course BBC website won't let us forrins stream anyway.

Cosmosis · 30/04/2010 08:42

cunty wherefore in the lakes? we are heading to that there location tomorrow, till Wednesday. TGO is from Windermere, his mum is away = holiday house

CurlyCasper · 30/04/2010 08:47

I will be dining and sleeping in the Lakes this very evening...

First NHS parentcraft class last night was V good.

Ok, can I still be in de nile when I'm feeling pukey? ugh.....

CurlyCasper · 30/04/2010 09:25

Nope, embrace the happy pukiness

OP posts:
PollyPoo · 30/04/2010 09:40

Thanks Casp. Was hoping for a few more weeks respite... with Iris it didn't start until 7 wks and was gone by 11. Feel so bad for Ski - can't believe you've been so ill for so long. Has it stopped now you've got past the 28 wk mark?

PollyPoo · 30/04/2010 09:55

Can I just say, Ginger and Lemon Tea is disgusting...

iggypiggy · 30/04/2010 09:58

Morning chaps - am feeling all bouncy and bank holiday weekendy

cunty was thinking of you this morning as have discovered technique for getting seats on public transport - ensure you touch bump - so is clear you pregnant - has now worked twice for me

sliverybeast yes - I likes her style too! Is amazing how much you can learn - even when you think you know what you doing - I might try and book into one of the Helen sessions if poss... Am pleased you know all about LAD - I suspect we have similar views on dog training!

casps sorry you haz extra worry but pleasing about your class last night

I am now a hypnobirthing convert after my class last night - however my birth goes - my mental attitude is so much better! The sessions are amazing - tools for life - not just for giving birth... and all sensible... what also pleases me is the way that the yoga teacher, the NCT woman and the hippo people essentially say the same thing... I thought of rots as we went over all the Grantley Dick-Read stuff

Poor poohead - you can stay in de nile as long as you want - but sicky sounds good to me

oh yeah and cossie am no longer speaking to you after you used the s word

PollyPoo · 30/04/2010 10:08

Oh iggy hypno-birthing is amazing! I loved it and will definitely be using it again. I found it really empowering and I'm so glad you are converted.

iggypiggy · 30/04/2010 10:17

poo did it help you, do you fink? Cos everyone I have spoken to says that what ever happended to them (c-sect or easy brith or something in between) that is was helpful - which is good to hear. I was listening to my affirmations on the way in to work today!

skihorse · 30/04/2010 10:18

Thanks polly - it is shit, but nevermind, it has to happen to someone and I can handle it. I've got a flushing loo and access to medicine + food! I haz puked again copious times this morning.

As for De Nile, VAG still loiters on the banks and she's having her 20 week scan today!

PollyPoo · 30/04/2010 10:25

Iggy I would say that although I did not have the birth that I'd planned, it still helped - I got to 8cm barely without any pain relief or even making any noise - one midwife did not believe I was in labour. Then it all went tits up as my blood pressure was too high for me to stay in the mw unit, and I got unceremoniously shoved into an ambulance to the nearest acute hospital, with TG following in a car behind, absolutely crapping himself. From there on, it didn't go as planned (I screamed and hollered with the best of 'em) but I still did it with no drucks, forceps or other intervention. And when Boo came await she put straight on my tum and a towel was thrown over her - she was the quietest calmest little darling ever. I'm not kidding - she just opened her eyes and looked around at us, took it all in. We didn't hear her cry until about 48 hours later! God, my eyes are leaking. Fucking hormomes....

Ski you poor thing. Really hope it stops for you soon, that is not fun. Can't believe VAG is 20 wks already. Good luck VAG!

PollyPoo · 30/04/2010 10:27

Fucking idiot I am. Terrible typing in that there above post, sorry. Casp will be coming out in hives! I'm sure you get the jist of it. [shame]

iggypiggy · 30/04/2010 10:30

ski there was a woman at hippo class last night who had hyperemesis and teh hippotherapist gave her some techniques to help with the sickyness... is poss worth looking into - even if only helps a tiny bit?

iggypiggy · 30/04/2010 10:54

Found link for you ski - here

I know MS is related to hormones - but is amazing the effect you can have on natural hormones using relaxation/ your mind - cos we did this thing where you get yourself to increase endorphin production - and it feels amazing. Not saying is cure or anyfink - but maybe worth try? Please tell me to fuck off tho - if is not your thing

skihorse · 30/04/2010 11:13

I would never tell you to fuck off iggy! I do wonder if it's related to stress hormones (cortisol is it?) - because it does seem to be worse when I'm worried. I'm a bit of a puker in normal life too and when I'm nervous normally I tend to puke... isn't that an adrenaline thing too? Lightening the load ready for flight or something? What did your hippo say technique wise? Were you able to listen in at all?

Curly I'm sorry I didn't react sooner - I am very sorry to hear of your woes, but I trust you and your little girl are going to be very well looked after over the coming 12 weeks and it'll all be fine.

There is an article on DM website today re: heriditary morning sickness which I haz commented on: www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1269910/Mothers-sickly-legacy-Curse-morning-sickness-runs-family. html I haz sadness not to have mother's slim hips & long legs. Instead has big conk, thin lips and sickness.

Cosmosis · 30/04/2010 11:15

s word? is confused.

iggypiggy · 30/04/2010 11:18

I can tell you what she said - no worries but not sure it'll work well without all the background! Apparently puking in labour is related to fear/ stress - so you might be right?

Basically - you need to go into a state of relaxation (there is a breathing technique which helps - breathing in for count of four and out for count of eight - eyes closed - we were taught same technique in NCT class). Then we were all visualising a control room - with valves and switches - she told this woman to visualise a switch which was marked 'sickness' and to switch it off in her mind.

Is worth a try - I just wondered how easy that would be to do - without all of the other stuff we were doing... ie. spending ages relaxing etc. but maybe would be worth a try?

iggypiggy · 30/04/2010 11:20

cossie I have an aversion to an s word - it makes me shudder if people use it

am afraid I can't type it

CurlyCasper · 30/04/2010 11:22

Jings! no need for apologies ski. I was just ranting and getting things clear in my own head yesterday. No responses expected. Sometimes it just helps to get it all out. Nonethelss, thanks all for luverly comments. I have decided all will be well and she'll still be sneezed out in a giant bath. PMA and all that

Hippo approach does sound like a good idea for sickness.

I must do more of my hippo birth reading and at some point pop the CD in. Think it might have to wait until I am leave though.

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 30/04/2010 11:25

casps you can listen to the affirmations anytime - like when you getting dressed in morning etc. You only need to do the relaxation bit by lying down and relaxing - if that makes sense!

CurlyCasper · 30/04/2010 11:30

to be honest iggs I haven't even read enough into the book to know what the affs are all about . I fear they might just piss me off if I haven't read about the thinking behind them. Is this silly?

Might make the effort rip CD and load them into ipod for use in car etc.
