Oooh oooh ooh exciting!!!!! How many weeks?

CUNextTuesday · 28/04/2010 22:10

Are you doing it in 4D cas?

Newsflash : I can no longer shave my ladygarden in the shower. Two days ago was just about manageable, tonight, impossible. Am scared of spiders

Ponymum · 28/04/2010 22:29

cunty what you can't see can't hurt you.

carrotsarenottheonlyvegetable · 28/04/2010 22:55

skate all good names I'm watching Highlander and considered Connor for a while but only coz he's soooooo sexy. .

cas fab! I had thought I was going on Friday but it's not for another 2 weeks, 4D jobby.

cunty go free, lady. It's liberating. Just don't look, or think about it.

ski

skihorse · 29/04/2010 01:40

Connor Mcleod is a god amongst men - sadly though back in the real world "Connor" rates very highly in the list of names favoured by families who also have Kyle (as in always vile) and Chardonnay in hand. I think it's a beautiful name but has anyone seen the baby-name list compiled by the "child beauty pageant" people? It's a winner.

My brain is working a bit better after a little sleep = basically the package I got yesterday is Part I of your home birth kit, so it's filled with medical supplies so that I don't have to go out and source them and the midwife doesn't need to bring basics. Part II will contain amongst other things, stilts for the bed so that it's at a better height for the midwife to work at.

CurlyCasper · 29/04/2010 06:16

scan is an extra NHS one after last week's shenanigans. so not 4D. I am 28 weeks silver.
Will buy a pic if we can.

cunty sorry about the hidden garden. Guess Hom will have to get on the case now I was trying to fiddle with that area the other day and found mirror always too far away to see and bump in the way. Had to throw some very interesting shaped

s'pose I should finish my brekkie and walk the dog

OP posts:
skihorse · 29/04/2010 07:59

Good luck today curly - I take it everything is back to normal and she's been bouncing around so it'll all be fine. Another scan is fun though!

I haz had rifle through maternity box and haz found clip which I can only assume is for umbilical chord.

Silver Don't worry about the nag - he'll be fine. I had my last proper ride at 15 weeks - I rode briefly last friday but I paid for it saturday morning with achey ligaments in my groin. Swimming is so much kinder. iggy's had a quick whirl too a few weeks ago and boxer has had a ride - but don't feel you have to if you're not comfortable with it. I too went the same way at work - I just didn't feel comfortable announcing my status to one and all so confided in a few closer colleagues and let the drums do the rest...

Backinthebox · 29/04/2010 08:20

Morning all! I have been extra busy at work this week, so not much posting. I even have to work today - supposedly a day off. I will make sure I find myself a sneaky halfday off in exchange though. I've been working in an office full of blokes who have a weird fascination with my bump. They normally see me in a blokey suit with a peaky hat on at work, so find it strange to see me in wafty top and trousers which I have to keep hoicking up.

Ski haven't you stopped puking yet? On the one hand, pull yourself together woman! On the other hand, poor you. I am very jealous of your government provided maternity pack though.

Silver about having to stop riding. I nearly crippled myself last weekend with a foolish 2 hour hack. I'll limit it to much shorter rides till I cannot get off any more, which is a time rapidly approaching, I think. Big horse is still here, and having spent over £400 on advertising only to get timewasters I have kind of run out of ideas. So he is staying for a little while longer until people start looking for next season's hunters. I am only riding with a babysitter at weekends atm, but as of next weekend will have 2 horses. Gulp! New racehorse arriving. So my friend will be able to babysit me whenever.

Pony tell us more abut the house!

Cunty tbh I can't get excited about bush-trimming. I hack off the bits that might scare small children if I wear a bikini and that's it. The only person who gets to see the whole lot is OH, and he has never complained about my 'do .

We were going to have a 4D scan, but have decided to economise since we desperately need the extension. Otoh we are having nice 'new baby coming' moments with DD, who keeps laying her head on my tummy to listen to da baybee. Ah! Every so often she leaps onto my lap too, shouting 'YOUR BAYBEE!!!!!' in a very excited tone. Bless. I'm a bit worried about how keen she is for me to go to hospital though. She keeps saying 'you go 'ospical today, I stay at home and play?' She's got a while before that happens (I hope.)

On a more imminent and exciting note - I am packing today to go to Badminton tomorrow. Yay! Even though it's going to rain .

CurlyCasper · 29/04/2010 08:23

Thanks ski. Yes, everything feels fine now.
Don't go losing that cord clamp now!

Think baby has shifted up a bit, because I could put socks and trainers on much more easily this morning (for dog walk, of course, not work). I will enjoy this brief respite while I can.

OP posts:
CurlyCasper · 29/04/2010 08:28

morning boxer. I refuse to hear your comments about the rain. It's going to be lovely this weekend, because I am going away and is it our anniverary (well technically next week but the wedding was at the weekend) and the sun was bright and warm, even in Scotland, on that fateful day. It WILL be nice!

OP posts:
skihorse · 29/04/2010 09:07

boxer Maternity pack my arse - you get a grant of 150 smackers to spend on B&H and gin! As for horse, have you considered an end-of-season BBQ? Ack - so very very jealous of Badminton - although am going to a ODE on saturday for a look-see.

Sorry to vaguebook but something really funny happened about half an hour ago which I have to tell you about (fb status gives a hint) but I need to go out for a bit.

iggypiggy · 29/04/2010 09:42

silverina Was that with Helen Phillips? I have her clicker gundogs book and it is ace! I go gundog training with mine nearer to where my hoss lives - the dog adores it - I've just looked on the wagmore site and can't see the trainer there any more - but she is Allyson Tohme - who does tracking... I v. much agree on their methods - is fab place - if a little far from me... Am muchly impressed you haz been riding until now - I stopped after a show jumping lesson, 2 days after the POAS = win... but I haz THE FEAR cos of previous babyfail - when i rode all the time and fell off day before actual baybee fail..

boxy yay for badders! I went last year and was lovely!

Am having much sympathy for sickyski - when did your mum stop feeling sick when she was updiffed? Soon?

And taking of deliveries casp my moses basket comes today - I got the e-mail from John Lewis to tell me so..

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 29/04/2010 09:44

Morning Girtles. The sun is blazing here so I will have no talk of rain spoiling it. Thanks so much to all of you for your congrats, though I kind of felt things had taken an unexpected turn when they started... Now I can never come out to boyfy about my mumsnet habit. If he saw the talk of rings 'n tings and the many congratulations he'd fall down in a swoon. Silly fiancé (tee hee).

ski's talk of Dutch mat packs makes me wonder what the Belgian gov is lining up for moi. Lord knows I pay them enough taxes. The pile of publications that the midwife gave me were actually very good and informative and all in Dutch, which gave an extra thrill to deciphering their contents: for example the "Things to Expect in Pregnancy Section" of my pregnancy brochure
Me: what are "spataders"?
Boyfy: umm, those veins you know, that people can get in their legs?
Me: oh right, yeah, varicose veins, hmm...Oh God, look at this next section "Spataders bij de anus" "Spataders in de vagina" ...

Say it isn't so peshes, say it isn't so.

Curls - very exciting about the scan. Can't wait to hear how it goes. 28 weeks seems unimaginable at this point.

Boxy I love badminton, though I'm highy competitive, so probably for the best that I don't get to play it that often at the mo'. Hope you have loads of fun and let's have no further talk of rain, hmmm?

Skates love the names! They are gorgeous really. Not Callumna though, avoid that one. Sounds like Calumny I think. Callum is lovely though (pronouned Kay-lem?)

Ponymum · 29/04/2010 09:54

V mysterious ski. Hope everything is OK.

boxy Sorry about wasted £400 but at least you haven't yet achieved the spectacular feat of losing over £5000 on selling my last horse. But there's still time - you may beat my record yet!

Still know nothing more about the house but I fear it is not quite as I imagine. Pumped MrP with questions last night and he said 'Did I say 16th century MANOR house? No that wasn't the word he used, it was something else.' So he bloody well let me imagine for a whole day a giant sprawling property with secret staircases and mysterious attic rooms, when in fact it's probably a 16th century ALMS house, i.e. a tiny widow's hovel. And anyway, when I thought about it some more I'm not sure it would work out as they probably want to leave their furniture in the house which wouldn't work for us. Wait and see I suppose.

Of course as a true blue Virgo I spent last night creating an elaborate decision making table about the potential move. Looked at the local pony club website and was horrified at the photos of Emmas, Jemmas, etc on their very expensive perfect ponies. Nothing like our local horsey crowd around here with shaggy ponies and clumsy farmers having a go at the hunter trials. Not sure I approve. Don't want the foal to grow up as a pony snob.

Jealous of Badminton trip. I have never managed it, but we usually go to Bramham Park every year. Not this year though (unless I pop in on the way to the hospital).

iggypiggy · 29/04/2010 09:56

pone I have been to bramham twice - i very lovely there too! And I haz been to York racecourse - which I also think is gorgeous and far nicer than the ones dahn sarf

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 29/04/2010 10:04

pony he must have got "Manor" house from somewhere? Not the kind of word one would come up with unprompted surely? It must have been associated with something in the description (possible word assocations "stately", "demesne", "squire" ...) Dontcha think?

Ponymum · 29/04/2010 10:15

switty Hmmm... he said he thought it was something ecclesiastical, so I'm now thinking possibly 16th c Jacobean MANSE house, which surely wouldn't be too bad? Btw, very upset at your 'spataders bij de anus'.

iggs I have been to York racecourse a zillion times, but always for bloody business conferences and dinners. Have only been to the races there once (when Ascot was at York) as I am really not a fan of flat racing. With jump racing there's at least a slim chance they've broken in the horse properly.

iggypiggy · 29/04/2010 10:31

pone that is the one time I haz been to York Races too! It was a lovely sunny day when i went and was much nicer that goign to ascot normally... this year is first year am not going to royal ascot since I was 10...

SkaterGrrrrl · 29/04/2010 10:50

"skater Why are your parents pushing for consultant led care? Do you have trick vagina or something we need to know about?"

Ha! trick uterus. I do have a tilted uterus but that doesn't actually affect anything, its like being left handed. Basically parents say I'll be 34 when I have Callumna - my mum was 35 when she had her first kids and she had to have an emergency caesarean. They want hot and cold running doctors delivering their first grandchild. I think really they got such a fright over my NotMiscarriage earlier in the pregnancy they just want them and me to have total peace of mind. And they can afford it. Kind of torn as I loved the midwife I met at the Portland. But equally want a healthy baby and if someone wants to sponsor me a consultant, maybe I should go for it.

iggypiggy · 29/04/2010 10:51

skates I haz same ishoo - hence my consultant led care - due to parental insistence..

Ponymum · 29/04/2010 10:55

iggs So we were in the same place and neither of us got diffed? How can this be? I remember it was really hot but I hadn't believed the weather so had stupidly worn tights. Ripped them off and threw them away half was through the day! I won loads of money on a fluke bet on the first race which set me up nicely for the day.

iggypiggy · 29/04/2010 11:01

pone cos I was on the pill I reckon no idea what your excuse is tho!

Ponymum · 29/04/2010 11:07

iggs Well yes, so was I! Had no idea what was ahead of us, did we?
