Glad you're Ok and baby is still safely inside Cherry - hope he/she stays put for a while longer!

marzipananimal · 20/04/2010 22:03

Hi Aabs, welcome to the thread!

cherry so glad to hear you're ok! Hope the cramps go away and everything is normal from now on x

neenz · 20/04/2010 22:11

Wow Elusive, I hope my two are still napping at 2.7 . My sister used to put her kids to bed with a book when they got too old to nap. And when they got even older they were banished to the play room to watch a DVD and ordered not to come out until 2pm! You totally need that break - I would be on my knees without it.

CazEM · 21/04/2010 07:33

Morning!

So glad to see you posted last night Cherry and that things look like they are settling down! It must have been really scary... Make sure you are off work and resting until you feel completely 100% now!

Welcome Aabs - you are due the day after me!

Feeling like a milking cow at the moment ladies! - if I'm leaking like this now, what on earth is it going to be like when its full on milk?!! Haha!

Half way through the week then; water play and paper boats (topic is currently transport), gym and physiotherapy session, exploring objects all of the same colour and assembly today!

Have a good day everyone!

girlsyearapart · 21/04/2010 07:45

morning all.

That's a relief cherry

Well my parents are finally managing to get a flight out of malaysia today. It only goes to Paris but they would've had 7-10 more days if they waited for London.

We used to live in Brussels so they are both fluent french speakers and have plenty of contacts in Belgium at least if they can only get that far.

wrt the daytime nap- if dd1 who will be 3 in September won't nap she watches tv and dozes off anyway. I can't do without it yet!

soontobefatnat · 21/04/2010 08:16

Cherry so glad that you and the LO are okay. Make sure you rest up!

Blueberries I'm a crafting fraud! Looks of good intentions, but rarely carried out - and, when they are, without much skill! The quilt was going well though, hence my panic about losing it! So glad to have it back. So whatcha making, inspired by the new book?

bouncingblueberries · 21/04/2010 09:05

cherry so glad you're ok! You gave us quite a scare! Now stop being naughty, put your feet up and eat some cake!

nat oooooooh, so many lovely things to make! I've actually got 2 projects I need to get out the way first (2 maternity dresses), but once those are done I'm going to make a changing bag with matching changing mat, some bibs and some little soft toys for starters! Also planning on making an thingy for hanging on the outside of the cot - lots of big pockets for stuffing with wipes and nappies and stuff

But before I do any of that I need to finish sorting out the kitchen. Hoping my order from Lakeland arrives today and I can finish organising my cupboards. Then I\m going to order my dishwasher (despite my freaky FIL's best efforts to persuade us how unnecessary they are)

Looking forward to having the flat back to ourselves tonight though. FIL should be on the train home by now. Thanks goodness. God, I'm so ungrateful. He's done loads of DIY for us while he's been staying but in a way, that makes things worse - it just reinforces his belief that we're incapable of doing things for ourselves (I am actually more than capable of using a drill - just would prefer to be outside playing with ds ). He still calls dh and I "the kids" but insists on referring to us as mummy and daddy instead of using our names (freak). I've asked so many times over the past 4 years that he use my correct name when addressing me.

Sorry that turned into a bit of a FIL rant . His hearts in the right place really, but he just drives me nuts.

mrsZaC · 21/04/2010 09:39

YIPPEE so glad your ok cherry sounds like quite the ordeal! I would have a quiet word with baby and tell it that it's got plently of time left in that cozy womb and not to rush!

blueberries wow your quite the busy bee! I wish I was that good with a needle & thread, go you!

Isn't it amazing how quickly your belly grows, i swear it's getting bigger by the day!

Hope your all having a lovely day and yippee for those with relatives getting home now that the airspace is open

Alicetheinvisible · 21/04/2010 11:04

Morning

Glad to see you are ok Cherry i was in last time at 26weeks because of contractions due to a very minor UTI, so i know how scary it is. Have you got very disgusting tasting AB's?

MrsZ yes i am feeling huge

Bit of a grump i'm afraid. I am feeling so fat, frumpy and grotty. I don't spend a lot of money on clothes for myself, because we have the horses, but what i buy, i get because i feel good about myself in it iyswim? So i resent having to buy clothes that are only going to fit me for a while, so try to get as few bits of maternity stuff as possible, but then i get really miserable, because i never have anything to wear and nothing fits. I am going to wait until i have my HIP grant through then spend some of it on a nice pair of comfortable shoes and a couple of nice long tops.

Also DD is just grizzling round the house this morning. Everytime she opens her mouth it comes out as a whinge. Do i give her some calpol because it is very unlike her, or do i just leave her to whinge?

bouncingblueberries · 21/04/2010 11:15

alice calpol calpol calpol! I can't stand it when ds get all whiney and whingey and usually spend ages trying to keep my irritation in check only to have him vomit/spike a fever/consume his bodyweight in food as soon as I think to offer him something to eat. So actually, amend that to calpol and a some toast!

Right, now we've sorted your dd we now need to sort your wardrobe options...

Alicetheinvisible · 21/04/2010 11:21

Done! Her eczema has calmed down, but is up on her cheeks and yesterday she had her fingers in her mouth all day. She normally tells me if they hurt though. She has got her fist proper ballet class today and the last thing i want is for her to go if she is feeling a bit off and tantrum the whole time. Really can't be dealing with that!

soontobefatnat · 21/04/2010 11:33

Blueberries ooh! An organisy thing would brilliant - as would a few toys. Will check out the book on Amazon later! Let us know how you're getting on!

loobyt · 21/04/2010 11:37

So glad very thing is okay with you and baby cherry, look after yourself x

vix206 · 21/04/2010 11:50

I had a bad night, hardly any sleep at all due to twingey pains under my bump (still not bad enough to make me ring MW, am sure its bladder though), IBS, leg cramps and nightmares! So feeling a bit blue today. BUT, whilst resting in bed last night I discovered an amazing website www.thenappylady.co.uk/ and have now educated myself in the art of washable nappies etc. and am almost excited about it all! I even dreamed about it, sad or what??

bouncingblueberries · 21/04/2010 11:58

Oooh vix! Washable nappies - I'm waiting for my health in pregnancy grant before I invest in some more. And now I have my sewing machine I can make lots of little trousers to cover bigger bottoms!

bouncingblueberries · 21/04/2010 11:59

Sorry got carried away there - meant to start that post by giving you lots of sympathy for your bad night . Are you sure you shouldn't phone the midwife about those pains? If it is an infection, better to get it sorted sooner rather than later?

starshaker · 21/04/2010 12:04

Hey all, Hows everybody doing. Just checking in, not much to say really other than my baby is gonna be 5 tomorrow. How did this happen, where did the time go lol.
Keep an eye on the cake table cos im sure come tomorrow it will be filled with birthday cake, cup cakes and other birthday food treats lol

neenz · 21/04/2010 12:06

Sympathies on the bad night - I slept pretty well and still feel quite tired. I love the nappy lady site - it got me into reusables too. I love them and they sure save you money. I love walking past the nappy section in the supermarket, thinking 'that's £10 I don't have to spend'

I always give the DTs Calpol if they are a bit whingey - or if they wake in the night (well, it is so unlike them to do either of those things so I guess it always means feeling unwell/teeth etc)

Got to go to work this afternoon - boo! I am looking forward to going on ML although being at home with the DTs is hardly restful so I keep changing my mind about when I went to finish.

Dibbydab · 21/04/2010 13:06

Vix - this has been going on for a few days now, phone your midwife before it turns into a full blown infection (if that's what it is) - you can guarantee it will happen over the bank holiday weekend when you can't get hold of the doctor for love nor money.

CherryPie - well you don't do things by half do you girl? Had us all a leeeetle bit worried I can tell you, but glad things are sorted and you're on the mend. Take it easy.

My sonographer for 12 week scan was lovely, she had the same surname as me & DH, so I said "oh, you're a Mrs B as well, we're both B's", for some reason I then felt the need to explain to her that DH was my husband not my brother in case she thought there was some sort of interbreediing going on - DH looked at me like this

I have only got worse with my foot in mouth syndrome since

Have got my 25 week midwife appt tomorrow - DH asked if I wanted him to come - told him yes, if he wants to carry my wee pot - he declined surprisingly.

10 weeks left till I start maternity leave (am not counting the rest of this week, it's nearly over isn't it?)

Regarding "craftyness" I shall be limiting myself to making curtains with blackout linings for the babies room - am in awe of anyone who can make clothes which don't look like something out of the Sound of Music (curtains/lederhosen anyone?) on a sewing machine - what a talented bunch you are!

kcoffin27 · 21/04/2010 13:13

Hi all, sorry i haven't posted in an age . To much for me to keep up with, hope every one is ok
cherrypie glad your ok, and having a lot of rest I hope. Fingers crossed for your baby to stay put for a long while yet.

I have my 25 week check today Bit worried I may get moaned at as since being pregnant I have only put on 8 pounds! is that bad?

Putting some chocolate muffins on the table for all to enjoy.
Have a great afternoon everyone.

Dibbydab · 21/04/2010 14:01

For those of us who can feel wriggly babies, but not sure if we're prodding bottoms or heads (it's not just me that does it surely?), this was an interesting article position of baby in womb

NichyNoo · 21/04/2010 14:32

Cherry - glad everything is alright - you had us worried there

I went to A&E at the weekend as the little ninja stopped moving as much as usual. I waited for 3 days with having about 5 movements a day (instead of the usual 100-odd) then on Saturday decided to go to hospital. Was hooked up to the heartbeat monitor for 30 mins but midwives said everything seems fine and he has since started moving a bit more. My next scan is the 33 week one so have 8 weeks to wait

kcoffin27 - I doubt you'll get moaned at for only putting on 8lbs! At my last check up a fortnight ago I had put on 5lbs and have the tiniest bump for someone who is allegedly 6 months pregnant! My doc was very happy (although in Belgium they are very strict about weight and if you put on more than 10kgs then put you on a special pregnancy diet)

CherryPie3 · 21/04/2010 14:34

Hiya girlies

Still not caught up I'm afraid but will try to...

Have decided it may be a good time to put an overnight bag together in case baby decides to scare us again - that way dh can just pick it up and bring it in. He did so well tho, I' very proud of him - although I did end up with ds's toothbrush . Never mind.

Who asked about the anti-bi's?? They're like blue torpedos and taste like burning plastic. Very grim! They're called Cefradine?? I've never heard of them.
I've also got codeine to take as well for the cramps and back pain. I so wish I was 35 weeks already - there wouldn't be quite so much worry if baby was coming at that stage.

I've decided I'm going back to work tomorrow - I don't exactly do much anyway - just answer the phone so I've got as much chance of getting my rest there as I have at home really - might as well be earning whilst getting better .

Gonne go hang washing out now - it's been in the washer waiting for me for an hour now.....really should go do something....

Love to all xxx

kcoffin maybe you should be eating those muffins rather than giving them away?!!! I'm sure you won't be whined at though.

Cherry we'll all keep our fingers crossed that you recover soon and that baby realises how lucky it is.

I'm now getting kicked the hell out of and my nipples are leaking (I'm only 22 weeks for goodness sake!!) so I'm off to boots in a bit to get some breast pads before I destroy my beautiful silk bra!!!

Vix maybe it's worth you getting checked out?

To those of you thinking of reusable nappies, did you know alot of councils are giving out grants towards the cost? Mine in herts gives £40 I think; I can find the weblink if anyone's interested.

My car seat and base arrived today, yay! Couldn't really stop myself from carrying it around imagining baby in it!

mrsZaC · 21/04/2010 15:24

hey... been reading but so zonked today can't remember all that I've read!

just thought I'd pop in quickly to say that Isabella Oliver are doing a 1 day 20% off deal, just quote 'QUEEN' in your shopping cart. Splashed out on some leggins cuz sick to death with my current maternity ones, soooo uncomfortable!!

cherry glad your sounding somewhat chirpy, you must have been pooping yourself! sensible to pack a bag but hope you don't need it!
