Welcome to the thread, before the thread, before the final thread where I give birth.

And in case you're needing it here is the Post-natal thread

Congratulations Blonde Manda and Jashook!

I saw this and thought quite a few of us could make good use of this

BelgianMummy · 15/03/2010 22:04

Erm - I was meant to post: www.haveyouhadthatbabyyet.com/

MummyElk · 16/03/2010 07:35

swingsofglory · 16/03/2010 08:02

Congratulations manda, blonde and jashook belgian - that made me laugh, thank you - it was much needed!

BusyMissIzzy · 16/03/2010 08:45

Morning all; just had my first experience with projectile poo during nappy change. That's one thing bumps can't do..

Congratulations to Manda, Blonde36er and jashook on the new arrivals!

Shroomer · 16/03/2010 08:52

belgianMummy - great link!

Arcadie · 16/03/2010 09:28

Thanks BelgianMummy raised a or two here as well.

So news from the arcadie camp ( rather than the wittering that I normally do)

Have a hard, raised red painful lump on my calf. Last pregnancy ( about 28 weeksish) I had the same thing and got send to hosp for potential blood clot checks. So today I have an emergency GP appt to assess the likelihood that it's a blood clot.(Not high) If not - get cream, go home, feel annoyed that the one thing I was supposed to do today got cancelled (but a little relieved too)...

If it is - go directly to hospital and stay there for up to 72 hours whilst they poke and prod check me over. this will not happen but that fact didn't stop me from blubbing all over my DSIL in the playground this morning. I can't leave my DD and DS for 3 days..... [pathetic] and yet [heartbroken] at the thought.....

Me me me me me me me me me me me me me....
Everyone else oK?

MummyElk · 16/03/2010 09:37

pooooorrrrr arcadie!!! that's not fun at ALL?!!!! i really hope for your sake that it's NOT and that you get a GP with attitude and courage enough to diagnose a non-hospitally prognosis. not what you want in your last couple of weeks is it?! harRUMPF for you
Will be thinking of you today - keep us posted!!
off to playgroup.

Dalrymps · 16/03/2010 09:53

Hey ladies,

Not posted for a while as am just generally fed up of being 'overdue' now. Am T+10 today. Have had a hot curry and dh did his bit last night but still nothing. This is exactly what happened last time and I ended up being induced at 2 weeks

Got app with midwife this aft for monitoring and a sweep, hope the sweep does something. I really would like to just go in to labour at home and make my way to hosp when I feel like it instead of being in there overnight all alone like last time...

Sorry I don't reply to you all individually, I am readin everything that's happening though!

Arcadie · 16/03/2010 10:02

Hey Dalrymps - sorry you're in this position again. Nothing I can say will make it better except to remind you (and mostly to remind myself) that it matters less how you bring your LO into the world and more what you do with them afterwards.

You'll be a fab mum and whether or not your body needs a little helping hand to kickstart labour has no reflection on that fact.

(Totally narked when I had to have a second induction too!)

Dalrymps · 16/03/2010 10:31

Thanks Arcadie, I know that really... Guess i'd just like the experience of doing it the 'normal' way for want of a better word. I know that i'll not give a hoot once i'm holding my little bundle

snowflakesarahandco · 16/03/2010 10:33

hey ladies just letting you know i am keeping up with you all,.

((((hugs))))) to Pixie, Arcadie and mummy elk- hope you ladies are all ok,

Hows the leg Arcadie? and your daughter Pixie?

waves to everyone else, xxx

laurielou · 16/03/2010 10:39

Intruder / stalker alert! I've wandered over from the 30's TTC thread as I was told our founder donttrythisathome was over here.

I thought you'd mentioned you were due in March & just wondered how you were getting on. Sadly I'm still on the TTC thread, but the joys of Clomid await next month. Anyway, we're all thinking of you & rooting for you as our Queen of 30's TTC. Good luck to you & I look forward to the formal announcement.

In fact, good luck to you all, x

PacificDogwood · 16/03/2010 11:22

Morning ladies,

look at this: v critical of antenatal thread titles, but they liked one of ours!! Well done, head girls !

Dalrymps, I feel your pain, stay positive, might still happen and what other platitudes you can think of - fingers crossed for you that whatever happens you will find your delivery a positive experience.

Has Pixie checked in today yet? Does MrPixie know he has to inform us as soon as there is anything happening??

LouBudd · 16/03/2010 11:53

pacificdogwood OMG! Can't believe some people can be so miserable. There are more important things to worry in the world. If they don't like thread titles, don't get involved. One word.....uptight.

Well done for fighting our corner gracefully.

Shroomer · 16/03/2010 12:00

Arcadie I hope that bump on your leg is nothing.

TTC? eh? Wassat?

Saw the midwife this morning (was going to have a sweep, I'm at 40+1), but my cervix is closed and long. It was tucked behind the baby's head, so she had a right rummage around to get to it. Quite uncomfortable - but good practice for my breathing techniques. She listened to the baby's heartbeat again after the rummage to check that she hadn't upset the baby (I'm sure I heard it saying 'You're gonna pay for that missy'). So a sweep has been booked for next week.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 16/03/2010 12:02

ANOTHER INTRUDER ALERT! - just popped over from the BESH gin palace to cheer donttry on! Go BESH! We'll be stalking you!

All the best to everyone here too xx

Rindercella · 16/03/2010 12:02

Pixie thinking of you today. Hope your DD had a good night in hospital and makes it home today.

Manda, Blonde36er and jashook massive congratulations on your arrivals

Arcadie, you poor thing. Make sure you take it easy and I sincerely hope it doesn't mean a 72 hour hospital stay for you.

Dalrymps, you poor thing too! You must be desperate to meet your new baby now.

Pacific at that thread!

All's well here. Feeling back to my usual cheerful (& calm!) self after major wobbles last week. Am 39 weeks tomorrow (DD was born at exactly 39 wks), and am nesting like crazy - have had a frenzy of cleaning (fridge, freezer, kitchen cupboards! ) this morning while DD at pre-school. Have MIL arriving on Monday. Thankfully SIL is bringing her up - I was dreading DH doing the 2 hour each way drive to get her in case I went into labour. Hopefully Baby J will hang on til then. She's a lovely MIL too, and very helpful so should be a pleasure to have around.

One thing, I can't believe my wedding & engagement rings still fit! Last time I had to stop wearing them at around 32/34 weeks.

MummyElk · 16/03/2010 12:45

agree rinders same here with rings, can't believe it! wondering if perhaps DC2 is a boy as a result...

have just wolfed down two pieces of toast (toasted cheese and marmite) and three crumpets....and I wonder why I have that horrid wobbly bit under my bump . i was shaking though, i clearly needed to eat a lot of crap something nourishing.

at that thread pacific, couldn't resist having a punt either...

any news arcadie?

loving the stalkers

omigod i need to eat more. this is ridiculous.

snowflakesarahandco · 16/03/2010 12:48

pacific- at that thread- people can be so judgemental- get a life sprang to mind!!!!!

hecklephone · 16/03/2010 13:11

Just a quickie to let you all know Robin Stella arrived yesterday just before 6pm, 7lb 8oz. She's absolutely gorgeous, of course. More details soon! Heckle x

annamama · 16/03/2010 13:36

Wow, I knew it Heckle, congrats! Beautiful name.

Congrats JasHook! Cool name.

Nothing happening here, except feel extremely tired, grumpy, a little bit sick and have ever so slight cramps every once in a while plus stronger than ever braxton hicks.

[hoping these are signs of labour emoticon]

Lovely day to be born, nice and sunny... Do you hear that baby??

Dalrymps - good luck. Remember you don't have to be induced if you don't want to? Maybe you just cook your babies for longer than average?

PacificDogwood · 16/03/2010 13:39

Hecklephone, mahoosive congratulations!! Lovely names, again - my, we are good! I hope you and baby Robin are both recovering well.

Cannot wait to hear the gory details..

BusyMissIzzy · 16/03/2010 13:43

Yay Heckle! Congrats

Arcadie hope your leg's OK. Fingers crossed for you; keep us posted?

Dalrymps sorry you're , hope it all works out. As you say, once the baby's here I'm sure you'll be too loved up to mind any more. And that won't be long now!

annamama sending positive labour vibes your way... tis indeed a lovely day to have a baby

OBEM tonight, yay!

P.S. [ignorant emoticon] what is all this BESH/PESH? It's not in the acronyms..
