Welcome to the thread, before the thread, before the final thread where I give birth.

And in case you're needing it here is the Post-natal thread

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oooh, it's all happening for Henrietta and afribaby, v best of luck!!

Arcadie, can we not shame your baby into appearing?? Or a bit of reverse psychology ie 'you just stay where you are, dear, you are not missing anything interesting at all out here' ??
Hope you are feeling ok - it will happen, you know...

Arcadie · 29/03/2010 15:54

I have a plan Pacific. You be a love and nip into your local hospital with your best "I'm a doctor you know" face on. Pop up to maternity and see if you can nick me a couple of doses of Prostin.... You've got my address already. I figure it'll have how to use directions on the box. DH and me can do our own home induction. Sorted.

Just once I would like ONE of my children to arrive in the same MONTh as their due date....

status update...no baby!!! mild contractions still coming every 10 mins. have packed other 3 kids off to grandmas for night as expecting MW this afternoon for sweep...now know I am a stretchy 2 cm dilated about 50% effaced, (which means basically nothing seeing its my 4th except they're doing something albeit slowly) and cervix is coming forward. hopefully DH should be home soon too. Its hopeful though - no3 came 24hrs after having a sweep where I was 3cm dilated and effaced so...heres hoping the contractions ramp up tonight. If not at least Ive got some peace (which is weird) I can actually use the comp without being interrupted every 5 mins!!!

All the best wishes to arcadie and afribaby hopefully we'll all be there soon.

PacificDogwood · 29/03/2010 16:54

@ Arcadie's plan

Would you like me to also nick you a CTG machine for home monitoring ?

Good luck for sweep, Henrietta!

Arcadie · 29/03/2010 17:22

OooOooohh - that'd be great Pacific. D'you think they'd notice?

Just wanted to say THANK YOU to all those who've gone over to the dark PN side and are still popping in to check on us.

Was super miserable after midwife appointment this morning, so had a long nap and ate most of a packet of Haribos , now my sister is cooking a lovely dinner and I am feeling a lot better.

No regular contractions anymore...just the occasional painful twinge. Sigh. Ah well.
Hope it's all a lot more productive for you Henrietta and would you share your illegal Prostin when you get it Arcadie, please? Actually, my midwife said that one lady did indeed manage to order some kind of contraction stimulating meds on the internet and came in with them, asking the midwife to please inject her!

CappuccinoCarrie · 29/03/2010 20:05

C'mon girls you're nearly there!

arcadie did you see our mutual doc friend has offered to teach you how to do your own sweep?!

I'll sneak a peek into dd's ballet and tap lesson tomorrow incase there are any good moves for Pixie

pureeandpearls · 29/03/2010 20:15

Now, babies, listen here. Your mummies are very tired of being pregnant keen to meet you. It is beyond your due date. It is time to put in a swift and pain-free appearance.

HTH

Arcadie · 29/03/2010 21:52

P&P Cappu MummyElk afribaby and Sarah Pixie Thanks for all the cheering. COME ON BABIES.....

Henrietta Hope your silence is good news.

I went to ASDA* this evening and am now half way through my first of 3 pineapples.

i am a walking cliche.

*Other Chav filled superstores are also available.

BlueyDragon · 29/03/2010 22:25

Thought I'd pop in to say hi to you all and send lots of good wishes for quick, easy and Arcadie-birth-plan-like appearances of your babies.

Come on, little ones, time to leave the comfy waiting wombs!

Sariska · 29/03/2010 23:19

3 pineapples.... Feeling very sorry for you, Arcadie, because I loathe pineapples. What a pity they can't be taken in cocktail form.

Last episode of OBEM tomorrow. Maybe at least one of you will be too otherwise occupied to be able to watch it .

evitas · 30/03/2010 10:45

Just pop in to wish good luck to all of you! It's the final count down!

I was the first one, in this thread, to have a baby, who is going to be the last one?!

Arcadie - although I'm not pregnant any more, can I have some of your pineapple? (I'm really craving now )

Arcadie · 30/03/2010 12:17

Hi Evitas.... - that would be me. What a dubious honour!

The pineapple is MINE ALL MINE.....

OP posts:
pureeandpearls · 30/03/2010 12:30

Pineapple if the weather makes me feel like winter, at least Pineapple will make me feel like summer is around the corner!

C'mon babies........I thought I made myself perfectly clear last night.

AfriBaby · 30/03/2010 12:46

morning - i think. Loooong night with very painful contractions I had to breathe through, disgusting gobs of brown mucus, some red blood...so called midwife who came over, still only 2cms, cervix still pointing backwards. How much stronger do the contractions need to get? No, don't tell me. Had a big cry as just so tired and disappointed that hours of pain (about 3 nights now) result in nothing.

So got a muscle relaxing suppository which allowed me to get some sleep. No walks today, just trying to catch up on sleep.

Hope you've got good news Henrietta - and enjoy the pineapple Arcadie.

Over and out!

evitas · 30/03/2010 12:57

Arcadie - So we have to celebrate. We can have a pineapple party

Pureeandpearls - stubborn babies! Even in the womb and not listening to mummy. I can speak for myself but on the opposite, wanted him to stay longer but came much earlier. Oh well... what can we do?

Arcadie · 30/03/2010 13:19

Afribaby That is just rotten. I shall cease and desist from feeling sorry for myself and instead feel sorry for you. Sleep well. It CAN'T go on much longer!

OP posts:
PacificDogwood · 30/03/2010 13:58

I hate this onehanded typing - it makes me all concise... and I like a good ramble.

Really, really feeling for you all now.

Gawn, babies, pop out NOW! You know you want to...

As evitas said - 'it's the final countdown da da da daaaa, da da da da daaaaaa....!'

Those babies have got to come out sooner or later ladies - you're doing great!

Looking forward to having everyone back on the same thread though!

Then pineapple for pud!

annamama · 30/03/2010 15:00

(I met the singer of Europe once by the way. No he's not the father of any of my DCs.)

Afri - I had posterior cervix 1 cm dilated. The next day I had a baby. Good that you got some sleep. It really can't be long now.

You could always try jogging around your houses. I did but of course I don't know if it really worked or if I would have gone into labour anyway.

Ohhhh, hope you all get your babies very soon!
