Welcome to the thread, before the thread, before the final thread where I give birth.

And in case you're needing it here is the Post-natal thread

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Arcadie · 19/03/2010 13:15

Shroomer I know it tooooooo. But I had to wade through a LOT of Swedish to work it out....

MummyElk Go go go!!!!!

DB Sounds very very promising.

Dalrymps

PAcific Thanks for being our Mary Poppins. Life seems better with you still around!

Oh, Arcadie, you are so subtle - NOT !!

Dalrymps, answered your question on the 'Other Side' - yes! Good luck for tonight. BTW, I was induced in the evening as well when I had DS1, labour started @ MN, he was born 24 hrs later; it was all good.

Dalrymps · 19/03/2010 17:01

Thanks pacific, yeah last time I was induced labour started at about 10am and he was born at 16.43 hope it's the same again.

Got some errands to run so signing off.. over and out.

Walnut8 · 19/03/2010 17:11

pacific - how on earth do you manage to post so much with FOUR DC??!! I barely manage to lrk let alone type anything. Is it a skill that comes after having more than 3 children?

annamama · 19/03/2010 17:59

Hi, we're back! Baby Isabelle Faith was almost born in our car yesterday evening 18/3. I just made it into the hospital in a wheelchair (pushed by a couple of innocent bystanders) while feeling the urge to push, according to notes I was admitted 7.55 pm and baby born at 8.00 pm! DH almost missed the birth as he had to park the car. He made it just in time to see the head crown. Only a few puffs of gas & air. 7 pounds. A couple of small grazes. I can't believe it, am in shock but very happy and she is gorgeous and DD1 is being a nice big sister too. AND we met the great doctor who pulled DD1 out 2 years ago. This fast natural "mother earth" birth has helped me get closure on my first quite traumatic birth. Ok, will catch up later and post full birth story on PN. Has anyone else given birth yet?

annamamma at your quickie and roping in the bystanders
regular BHs here but nothing substantial in spite of DH doing his bit last night and spending 1/2 hr bouncing on my B Ball. Saw MW on Thurs and after baby behaving itself for most of PGY now has turned so is back to back look at bump, stil head down though thankfully. tripped and fell over one of DSs cars too tonight but doesn't seem to have done anything.

wave to everyone else

Sariska · 19/03/2010 19:31

anna - congratulations! So glad you got your wish of a quick second birth . It's a good feeling, isn't it, once you get over the shock!

BusyMissIzzy · 19/03/2010 19:42

Congrats anna! I guess it goes without saying that I love the name. Can't wait to hear the full story, hope you're enjoying your new daughter

LouBudd · 19/03/2010 20:17

Yay anna. Congratulations!!!!
That sounds like the perfect birth.

I have had the biggest show this afternoon which was grim and shocked me. Have been niggling (again) all evening, so am hoping yet again this could be it for me. So different to when I went into labour with the other 2.
Was trying to work out how many of us are left to give birth but got totally confused. Don't think it can be that many.

Good luck Dalrymps

mumof2point5 · 19/03/2010 20:51

baby girl arrived safely on 16/03/10. yippee!
home next day, and starting to feel a bit normal again..........
no name as yet, but its on our list of things to sort out this weekend!!
amazing how big her brother and sister now look

good luck to anyone still waiting - this was my 3rd time and defo the best birth yet (think cause i had finally worked out what was happening and what to do!)

time to sleep now - won't be long till the next feed.....

PacificDogwood · 19/03/2010 22:22

Yeah, anna, conratulations!! And at speed of delivery... I thought I had cut it a bit fine with delivering within 40 min of arrival in hospital, but 5 min ! Bet your DH was relieved you got there on time .

And congrats to mumof2point5 - or should that be mumof3 now ?

DrSkid, all my DCs are benignly neglected and I am getting better at typing with 1 hand...

Arcadie · 19/03/2010 23:06

To my favourite headgirl Anna HUGE congratulations - sign me up for that kind of birth thanks very much! Beautiful name too.

And Mumof2.5 Well done too! Thanks for the positive comment on 3rd births. Enjoy the sleep.

LouBudd Hoping for good news from you soon.

Elk if you're lurking. Mwah. Big kisses and prayers for a quickun.

Anything going on with my baby? No.

OP posts:
Arcadie · 20/03/2010 08:17

Soon I'll be alll alone here. No one to post to. No one to play with....

(But still happy to hear the morning report on babies! )

OP posts:
MummyElk · 20/03/2010 08:31

Morning all
quick one from me. And after hours of rubbish latency (if that's a word), a failed trip to hospital, a facebook rant to arcadie, some special Arcadian prayers (xx), and trip back to hospital for an adament plea from me that i did in fact NEED to push, out pops one Elklette, at 9lbs2oz!! She's called Theodora Elizabeth and is a complete dinks, very lovely. More anon but I do need to try and grab some sleep.
Hope all well, well done on the other babies, good luck everyone else! Will post properly later.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 20/03/2010 08:42

Wonderful news, MummyElk!! Look forward to the piccies on FB as soon as DH is up to the job (or indeed you, wouldn't put it past you!)

What a weight, blimey! Thea is lovely too x

(Sorry for crashing the thread again, Marchers! Good luck to the rest of you...)

PacificDogwood · 20/03/2010 08:56

MummyElk, congratulations and welcome to Elkette (which I think would make for a very nice RL name but doesn't have the same gravitas as the brilliant names you have chosen)!!
My, how you deserved to be finally holding your (not so) LO after that long latent phase. Hope you get some well deserved rest.

Arcadie, hm, yes, you did predict that you'd deliver some time in April... Have you introduced yourself to the April AN thread yet ??

Don't worry, hen, we'll keep looking after you when you are here all on you own

annamama · 20/03/2010 09:00

Big congrats on Elk2, MummyElk! I reckon you were similar to me and the 3-10 cm must have happened very quickly once it got going.

Don't leave it too late to go to hospital, especially if it't not your first.

Thanks everyone...

Shroomer · 20/03/2010 09:30

Oh my, congratulations annamama, MummuElk, Mumof2.5!! . Been very busy haven't we?

AfriBaby · 20/03/2010 09:32

Congratulations to all the new mums! Am a bit at the super short labours some of you have had...I want one of those!

Night with some contractions and a weird dream involving DH getting naked and diving (!!) into the birth pool, smashing his nose and then complaining about it. Very funny actually.

Arcadie we share a due date I think, so you are not alone. I am here with you. Oh bugger, now have Michael Jackson song stuck in head.

Scootergrrrl · 20/03/2010 09:34

Congratulations to all the new arrivals (although I am poking out my tongue at Mummyelk who was due the day after me)

Don't fret Arcadie - I'll be here with you bouncing around on the birth ball, eating curry and driving over bumps til the bitter end. Four days late and counting....

Sariska · 20/03/2010 09:50

MummyElk - hooray! What lovely news. Congratulations!

Arcadie - I'll certainly stay and play with you while you wait (and, who knows, maybe you don't have long to wait at all!). I still quite fancy the idea of being AN, even though I probably never will be again . Hmmm, and on that note, those of us with quick second labours, I wonder how fast a third would be?????

swingsofglory · 20/03/2010 10:01

Congratulations annamamma and mummelk and mumof2.5!

And for those of us still waiting... I am still here too. Bored now (6 days over and counting) and obviously incapable of earth-mothery type delivery. I suspect I will need an induction again and it will be hideous.

I'm feeling inadequate today - can you tell?
