Hi all
Think I have been having BH but not sure?
Baby getting so much stronger now. Cant believe how big I have gotten in only a few weeks. Im starting to feel a bit axkward already!
My BP is still quite low so Im very ploddy and get out of breath easily enough during the day but only when Im having a bout! Its easier being at home tho cause at least I can sit down when I need to. Makes the world of a difference. Now if DS2 would only sleep for me!! Spent over an hour last night curled up next to him in his cot bed! My neck was killing me this morn. He is so his own little man and very much knows his own mind. At night when he decides he cant sleep or wants you with him nothing dissuades him! Am getting very fed up with it - just too tired these days to cope with it. And Im going to add a newborn to the mix!! Im nuts!

Debs75 · 28/05/2010 15:08

Apparently if you have to control it with Insulin then it can make the babies grow big so they like to induce you a week or two early. I was only diagnosed at 37 weeks and DC3 was the smallest of the 3, I did however have about 2 gallons of water in there and was huge the last week. I lost 23lbs giving birth, 8 being baby and placenta the rest water.
I think this time as I am 25 weeks they will be more intervention and the possibility I have to take some drugs. will find out more on Tuesday

sassy34264 · 28/05/2010 16:13

Hi

Been for my belated 24 week check up today and everything is good. Babies still have 2 very different heartrates. Twin 1 is 150bpm and twin 2 is 125-130bpm. I know it's an old wives tale that the faster one is a girl and the slower one is a boy, but i'm really hoping it's true in my case. Would make me the luckiest person on earth I think!

debs75 Sorry to hear about your GD, i have seeen 2 posts about it on the general pregnancy threads- one lady seems to know alot about it- might be worth a look.

ooosabeauta · 30/05/2010 18:47

Hi everyone, and welcome newbies! Hope you're all having nice weekends, despite greyish weather (where we are at least).

Just had the most infuriating visit from FIL and step-MIL and trying to recoup. Arrgh. Just going to need to offload my irritation if that's ok, but please feel free to skip reading it - I just have to get this out..! They said they'd only come for a cup of tea at 11.30 and then, instead, they wanted lunch and didn't leave until gone 4, and my ds was up at 5am so I'm exhausted! They seemed a bit put out that we hadn't told them that we're expecting a second, but they only phone about once a year, if that, and haven't visited us since ds was born in August 08, so I didn't feel that we needed to phone them to let them know (they're not interested in ds, so I didn't think we needed to tell them this time. The step-MIL (who doesn't have children) spent most of the day patronising me about how lucky I am to have my dh going to work so that I can stay at home, and how I probably sit down a lot during the day because I'm only looking after a toddler, and how my stomach muscles are much weaker now that I'm having a second pregnancy. Last one true enough, but just about as irritating as one of my childless friends broadcasting that at least if you don't have children you have a better pelvic floor . Sorry, as you can see, I'm feeling a little hormonal today . I needed to post this but don't feel up to the flak that I'd get in AIBU!

On a more relevant note, is anyone having very low down kicks (around the exit region ), or has anyone had a breech pregnancy, and did they feel it at this stage?

Hope you're all feeling well. Good tip re. satin nightie bananastew thanks! I feel like a beached whale turning over at night!

Bessie123 · 01/06/2010 10:45

Good morning

oosabeauta I have been having really bad pains down there, I wondered if it was the baby engaging then coming back up, apparently that can happen..? Your Pil sound v annoying.

Debs hope you're feeling ok today.

ooosabeauta · 01/06/2010 19:35

Oh that's interesting Bessie. It is a strange kind of feeling, not like kicks up in the tummy at all, but definitely feels like kicks... in the groin, from inside! Yes my PILs are 'orrible. Still irritated two days later but trying to get over it. We're having an exciting trip to Thomas Land tomorrow which should take my mind off it

Hope your pains aren't too bad Bessie, and everyone else feeling the strain! Hope today went well Debs.

CakeandFineWine · 01/06/2010 21:30

Hi all

Debs75 · 01/06/2010 23:03

Ooosabeuta YANBU as far as I know DP has not told his mum that i ma pregnant again, she wasn't very supportive last time and has only seen DC3 3 times since she was born. We live too far away(about 3 miles as the crow flies and about 25 mins on a bus). I am leaving it up to DH to tell her if she gets upset it is his problem to deal with.

Had a good clinic visit. will have to take tablets for the GD and need to go there for a visit next week and a growth scan the week after. There is a lot going on but hopefully we can keep it under control and I can escape an induction

Dixiebell · 02/06/2010 13:25

Ooosa I sometimes have very low down kicks - in fact more often than high ones. My scan said my placenta was high anterior, so wonder if that is why I feel more down low. It is weird and kind of makes me jump sometimes when they're down there. But does move around. I would think it's a while off before bubs settles in final position - still swimming around in there now aren't they, so wouldn't think it means anything at this stage.

I'd like to add myself to this list of people due in September. I'm now 23+5 and due on 24/9/10 having a girl. I happen to be the twin of aswellasyou who's due on 18/9/10 also having a girl. It looks like we'll be having one busy week in September!

aswellasyou · 02/06/2010 16:05

Hello Saoirse86! It's about time you joined. I'll add you to the list and amend you, CakeandFineWine. I'll go back to my work now.

Bessie123 · 02/06/2010 17:27

ah, how cute is that??

LB1981 · 02/06/2010 17:40

Hello all, I am just seeing if anyone has gone to any Active Birth classes (in the past)?? I skipped on the NCT classes as they were ridiculously expensive for my area. (3 classes =£250+ )

I will go to the NHS ones but maybe some extra ones wouldn't go astray? My only apprehension is that I am not one for home therapy... and if it gets all a bit homeopathy I will be disappointed. Anyone been before? Any thoughts?

aswellasyou · 02/06/2010 19:39

Bessie I'm not sure it's cute, just quite freaky. People seem to think we planned it but they were both accidents, oops. They'll both have someone to play with though which is nice. I'm thinking that if we give birth on the same day, we could sell our story to Chat magazine for at least £100!

comixminx · 02/06/2010 21:25

Hi all! Nothing to add to the talk about kicks - mine seem to be in various places but not so much low down. But - wasn't sure if anyone was having problems with swollen feet / ankles? I haven't been having any such problems, until just the other day - DP and I are on holiday in the South of France so it's warmer weather than I've otherwise been experiencing most of this pregnancy.

So the other day I went for a short walk at the end of the day, wearing sandals. Got back and thought that perhaps my ankles looked slightly more swollen than usual. The next day, nothing much; until the evening when on taking off my sandals I had noticeably swollen feet and ankles. It'd been a pretty lazy and quiet day that second day so I'd really done nothing much apart from (at the end) immerse my hands in hot water when doing the washing up. Raising my feet at the end of that day didn't seem to make all that much difference - they were still swollen by bedtime.

I looked up edema in Wikipedia and it seemed pretty clear that immobility is a main cause, though there are things in pregnancy that incline it towards happening. Today and yesterday I carefully wore socks (in case the increased pressure helped) and did more active stuff - mostly walking around really - and found no problems at all, though it's about as hot as on the other days. So on the one hand that's my tip if anyone else has been getting swollen feet & ankles - try a bit of exercise if you haven't been getting as much - and on the other hand I wonder if others have had any similar effects?

Dixiebell · 03/06/2010 13:55

No swelling for me (yet!). But aches and pains aplenty. We're moving house (tomorrow, hoorah!), and spent the whole bank hol weekend packing boxes. Of course didn't do any lifting or anything like that, but a fair bit of bending to put things in boxes. And OMG how I was aching at the end of every day, so that it was really painful and hard just to stand up from sitting. My joints absolutely killing, now I know what it must be like to be old & arthritic! I assume it's to do with the ligament-stretching hormone, which is also making my hips v.painful at night (even when I haven't been packing!). It's amazing how body's reaction can change so much just because of some random hormone. Especially as a lot of the time I don't really feel pregnant - had no MS or anything, and feel fine, sometimes I forget and have to check bump is still there!

CakeandFineWine · 03/06/2010 20:59

evening all, quickly popping in, Thanks for updating the list
I had true cankles the other day, when it was particulary warm & Id had a lazy day, they had gone down in the morning. When I hd pre-eclampsia last pregnancy I suffered with oedema terribly last time but it wasn't upand down and it was my hands, feet and face so wouldn't worry some swelling is totally nomal!
YEAH I go on holiday a week tomorrow, only to Devon but not snubbing it!

Debs75 · 03/06/2010 22:39

I'm not getting kicks down below but some horrid pushing and squeezing feelings. I think it is just testing my bladder in preparation for full blown jumps.

I am achy a bit if I do a lot of walking or sit for too long. It is worse when I have been on the loo, as I stand up I get shooting pains up both sides and I have to remember to slowly stand.

Luckily no swelling again either. Best friend had it alongside high blood pressure and her fingers got like sausages.

26+4

bellabelly · 04/06/2010 20:27

Evening ladies, just checking in! Loving the warmer weather but have definitely noticed a bit of swelling round the ankles - nothing too serious yet...

Debs75's comment about fingers like sausages made me think to mention to you all about taking off wedding rings etc as soon as they start to feel tight, I had a terrible time last pregnancy trying to get mine off as I left it quite late and hadn't noticed how swollen my fingers had got!

ooosabeauta · 04/06/2010 21:57

Evening all, it's been wonderful hasn't it?! Thanks for sharing about your kicks. There's still a lot of time left for movement I know, but I'm thinking about the birth of course and wondering whether it could be breech and therefore cs. Two out of six of my antenatal friends from last time had a cs because of having a breech baby so it's been on my mind!

I'm at that 'how much longer can I leave it?' stage with my wedding ring. I had terrible trouble getting it off last time and it was at about this stage, but I don't really want to have to wear my less attractive 'substitute' ring until I have to! My feet haven't swollen noticeably, but they are a whole size bigger than before the first pg! Not a good time to buy new shoes although I'm hoping it won't happen again or I'll look like a clown

Hope you're all having lovely weekends.

cinnamongreyhound · 05/06/2010 09:56

Hi all,

Been on holiday for a week so haven't posted, had a lovely time in Cornwall although we only went Sunday to Friday so it was a bit short and spent 8 hours in the car on the way back which was not kind to my back!

I have had had lots of low down kicks for a while now. They are near my hip on left side, what feels like on my cervix and next to my ribs on the right side. Have a lump on the right side where I'm getting kicks and nothing there on the left so guessing it's either a bum or a head but have no idea! Have a growth scan at 32 weeks due to BMI so will see then I guess. DS was back to back through pretty much all of my pregnancy so not sure what a baby in a better position feels like.

Have luckily avoided any swelling but I am pretty active. Have had some back and hip pain but its mainly at night when I've been in the same position for a while.

Supposed to rain where I am tomorrow so will enjoy the sun today Enjoy your hols and Thomasland, DS loved it there last easter when he was almost 2.

comixminx · 05/06/2010 18:55

I also have a bump that is more bumpy on the right than on the left, CGH - I'm getting kicks on the top-left side as well as the top-right though.

Have got a letter saying I should receive the Health in Preg grant within the next 7 days! Good stuff. So it's well worth getting those forms in when your turn rolls round, if it's not already been.

27 + 7 - into the third trimester, pretty much!
