Ooh - someone with a proper 'pica'! (think that's what wierd cravings are called). You total weirdo mampam! - Glad to hear about the fits of hysterics too - I think it would probably do me a world of good.

Morning ladies Mampam i am with you on the ice thing, and anything lemon flavour, lemon squash with fizzy water and loads of ice, mmmmmm! Also, the texture and smell of wet soil is really appealing to me,as is the sand in DS2's sandpit,i would quite like to eat the sand and the soil to be honest but i won't.Very very strange, anyone else or just me?

Morning!! Glad I'm not the only one doing strange things, especially the ice!!

Woofie I'm with you on the ice lollies. Most supermarkets sell cheap rocket lollies, 10 for a £1 and I love them!! Morrisons do the best lollies, their own brand orange ones, they taste just like frozen orange juice.......delicious

LittleRobbo Sand and wet soil is a little strange I have to admit but don't feel bad when I was putting petrol in the car the other day I caught a whiff and even looked around to see if anyone would be able to see me if I bent over and started sniffing before I put the petrol cap on ...thought twice though and didn't do it!!
In some ways I'm wishing I was back at work as the smell of stale beer down in the cellar would be really, really appealing to me right now!!!

monthlymayhem nice to see you back. Congratulations on finding a house. Have you got lots of people that can help you move in etc? Everything seems to always happen at once doesn't it!?

Right all this talk about ice.........I'm off to get myself a glass of squash loaded with icecubes

Hi everyone - sorry about your various aches and pains.

really interested to read bf comments - I found it agony to start with, but wonder if that's just normal, as every time I asked for advice I was told DS looked perfectly latched on. A bf counsellor who was friend of a friend came round on my 2nd day home and did a tour of our flat, helping me work out good positions on different bits of furniture. I read that it should get easier after six weeks and remember crying my eyes out because it still felt like a total disater - then around 8 weeks, finally got into it. DS was huge and hungry tho and when I went for 16 week weighing at baby clinic, HV told me to give in and start using formula as DS wasn't gaining much weight. I think typical of oppoosing views of HVs and people who are very pro-bf. I then introduced one bottle feed a day and carried on bf a bit till DS was 17th months. Just thinking about those difficult first months is bringing it all back though - it's tough for lots of women.

Am booked for c-section 19th May - aaagh that may be 13 days away, daren't think. Back wondering about going for VBAC, especially as when I told them I get flashy lights if I get at all thirsty, they said can you not just put up with it? told them no, as no idea what might develop into - never had a migraine in my life but strikes me during a caesarean opp perhaps not time to find out. Consultant was duly consulted and has suggested I go in night before and have drip put in, to try and keep my fluid levels up. Am going to talk it through with MW on Monday.

anyway better go - mat leave started yesterday, and decorator is due to arrive shortly, if he can get past all our junk.

Yay to all those with definite delivery dates, such a relief I bet that the end is near.

I'm so fed up with it all and im only 32 weeks, seems like forever if I go for a vbac and wait it out until july

I seem to have not a craving as such but a need to scrub things...dishwasher broke other day and I really enjoyed just scrubbing the dishes clean just for 1 day like, I'm glad dishwasher is working again.
but im the same with cleaning the bathrooms and the kitchen counters they need to be scrubbed clean with lots of suds etc...

And i have delveloped a taste for oranges/orange juice/ fizzy orange when before pg i was a coca cola lover

Have a scan later today to check on baby's kidney, hoping its not in the severe range of dilation this time, fingers crossed.

I've been consuming vast quantities of grapefruits and grapefruit juice since about 14 weeks...

...and drinking about 4-5 litres of fizzy water every day!!!! (V relieved DH insisted we got a free Sodastream from my SIL after my insane fizzy water consumption last pg!!!)

So definitely a citrus/fizzy drinks/dehydration theme going on here, right?!

Had a very dodgy tummy the last few days, which has been really aggravated by a wiggly, uncomfortable baby. So not a good combination!

Off to my mw appt at the hospital this pm, hopefully I'll find out which way round flump is (beginning to wonder if its gone transverse or something as so uncomfortable), and got my growth scan booked in for tomorrow morning. A bit annoying to be going to the hospital twice in 18 hours, as it isn't a hugely easy journey, but v excited about the scan tomorrow

Glad you got your CS date, Mampam, you must be feeling much happier to be properly booked in?

I can't believe some of the June babies are due so soon...I'm counting down the days until I finish work on 21st and can start thinking about this baby properly!!

I dont have cravings for ice, but cannot stop eating ice-cream (especially hagan das prailines and cream). I am not sure if that is an actual craving or just pure greed though!
Had a craving for fig rolls earlier in the pregnancy, before that it was orange juice and before that cheese. Just recently I could not get enough onken peach and wholegrain yoghurt, was getting up in the middle of the night to eat a whole big tub .

Had my last ante-natal class last night, and the kindly phsyiotherapist told us we should do no hoovering from now until 6 weeks after the babies born and our husbands should give us twice weekly massages at least. Hmm, I fear she may be living in some sort of dream world. Although my husband is very kind and lovely I do not think I could put up with a house which was only hooved by him.

Back to preperation discussion and I have still not packed a hospital bag even though I am now getting close to 37 weeks. Dont know why, I actually have eveything else organised but cant quite convince myself to do that. I also have not written a birth plan. I think both those things make the whole idea of labour a bit too real! On the plus side the nursery is completely done (hungry caterpillar theme), baby has a bed to sleep in, lots of nappies (cloth & disposable) and clothes to last the next year at least so am quite organised I guess. I also have evrything which needs packed in hospital bag ready.

Very interested in breastfeeding discussion, have been reading all tips/experiences with much interest.

Congratulations to all those who know when their babies are coming. Wish I had a date I knew it would all happen on.

Fizzy drinks here too. IT started off with sparkling water to alleviate sickness. I now can't stand the taste of it and have found my way onto Fanta-type drinks.

Very exciting about dates, and for all those with disobedient babies, may they all spin again. If it gives you any hoe, DD disengaged from perfect cephallic position at about 38 weeks, and turned. It was the wrong way, but it also means that yours have plenty of time to go the right way.

Feeling a bit scpeitcal about the arrangements I've made for DD when I go into hospital. A friend with a daughter who is 9 months older is to look after her. The two girls get on really well, but the last few times the older girl has really been not very nice to DD. She constantly takes toys from her, tells her off etc...Then, the last time we saw them, the girl deliberatley hit DD in the fae and today she has pushed her three times and thrown a ball full force in her face. I know this is normal toddler behaviour but I'm beginning to wonder if I should call it off. DD still really likes her, so I guess I should wait until DD has had enough of it, shouldn't I? It would just be a pity if the day she has enough of it is the day I go into hospital.

Good luck with turning those babies, I fear mine is also wiggling round to the wrong way at the moment so may also end up with my bum in the air to sort this out!

Has anyone else had an upset tummy? I am now 35 weeks and today my tummy has not been right at all and I know I haven't eaten anything that would cause the runs as it were - sorry if this is TMI

Also when I got home from work last night I had to go straight to bed with elephant ankles and what felt like period pains a bit in my lower abdomen. I did speak to a midwife who was really sweet saying that after a full day at work and being this far into the pregnancy I should expect a bit of this but to call them back if the pains developed. Luckily a couple of paracetamol sorted me out but now I have the runs I am slightly concerned.

I wanted to ask you guys as a lot of you are not first time mums (like me) and may have had or heard of something similar?

On a lighter note I had a thing for vanilla ice-cream, Mackies was on offer at Lidl and I made my other half buy about 4 tubs of the stuff! We still have some which I am gradually working my way through

Really dodgy tummy here too...and I've also not eaten anything I can think of that might have caused it

Saw the mw this afternoon who was totally lovely...confirmed that 3rd pgs can hurt a lot more as your stomach muscles have given up and don't like being kicked the whole time! Flump is the right way round and not currently posterior, but she did say that its another big 'un (scan tomorrow morning ]) and also that 2 back-to-back labours in a row is unusual and probably means that my pelvis tilts slightly so that this one is likely to go the same way....

Only 10 work days left...and counting....

Oh that's sort of reassuring to hear filly, as am feeling sorry for myself with lots of aches and pains this evening, and was thinking how much more I'm struggling this pregnancy than the last two. Have even just succumbed to paracetamol, which I almost never do.

How did the scan go MrsDm?

So is the only full thread title suggestion 'June is approaching, the end is in sight, time to sort our lady gardens so the midwives don't get a fright'?
If no-one suggests anything different in the next 5 or so posts then that's what it will be!

Hi all - hope everyone is surviving. TMI I know but anyone else having lots of discharge? This morning had quite thick greeny type discharge and have to wear aliner everyday otherwise feels like I've wet myself! I'm 33+3 and seeing the midwife morra - didn't know if I should be worried about it or if it is more 'normal' pregnancy stuff!

Any comments would be good

blues throughout my last pregnancy I had thick green discharge. The MW (TMI alert) got a big blob of it in her finger (very when she's waving her finger at me and saying "is this what you mean?")and sent it off but I didn't have an infection.
This pregnancy I've had the odd bout of green tinged discharge and I wear a liner everyday. Just mention it to your MW, worth having it checked just in case!

Who's going to start the new thread?????
I quite like the new title suggestion.
