Thanks for the advice CSWS. Looking forward to getting to know you all on here some more

LaTrucha · 07/03/2010 22:08

HI NGUE - we're due date buddies!

Gaviscon - I think this should be my new MN name. Enough said.

I am totally achy and painy today. I think SPD may be starting up and am pretty sure I need to go back to my osteopath. I think Braxton Hicks are starting too, but withthe pain from the adhesions coming apart it's a bit hard to tell. Paracetamol is my friend.

NotGrownUpEnough · 07/03/2010 22:16

Hi LaTucha, i jealous, i'm having nothing like braxton hicks or anything yet. I do feel like i've eaten a ferret at certain times of the day but i have to admit i love every minute.

Can i ask on here what SPD is? I've heard it mentioned before but haven't a clue.

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/03/2010 22:36

symphisis pubis dysfunction - where the pubic bone separates more/earlier than necessary, and causes lots of pain.

Some women don't get braxton hicks at all. It's no bad thing.

NotGrownUpEnough · 07/03/2010 22:50

Ahhh...thanks. Another peice of the jigsaw falls into place

Saucepanman · 08/03/2010 00:06

Hello all, went shopping today and purchased a small marquee to wear! I have definitely thrown my old maternity stuff out by accident, am v pissed off. I am sporting a massive boil on my thigh from my stupid mat jeans which keep falling down and rubbing my leg. I am hoping I don't have to go to docs and have it lanced

Nothing else to say other than BASTARD heartburn! I am going to a manchester meet up tomorrow, wearing aforementioned marquee

dinosaurinmybelly · 08/03/2010 01:30

Hello - thank you for a lovely new thread greensnail and also for the suggestion on tidying the list CSWS. I had the long midwife appointment on Friday where I did the glucose test and had my anti-D shot. It was all a bit traumatic as when I showed up they didn't have me on their appointment list, but they were very accomodating which suggested to me that they felt it was their error rather than mine. Bump measuring fine, and heartbeat was strong - so wonderful relief there and great to catch up with the little one after a 6 week wait.

The weather is much improved here in New York. We had blue skies and sunshine today, and it felt like everyone just appeared out of nowhere to go out for a walk this afternoon. Hope the weather in the UK is also more Spring-like. We had some friends visit us with a 7-week old today and it was just fantastic to be reminded of what the little ones are like. I'm now very excited about welcoming a new little bundle myself in around 3months!

justbeme I can't imagine how you have been feeling and am sending you big hugs and a request to go easy on yourself. This fainting spell could be your bodies way of letting go of all the tension.

Have a good week everyone...

LittleRobbo · 08/03/2010 07:31

saucepanman lol at bastard hearburn and marquee dress,oh how funny

dinosaur yeh it was the same here yesterday,a little chilly but beautiful sunshine,we went for a lovely walk with the dog and DS2 on his little trike

I have been having very strong Braxton Hicks for weeks now, sometimes they are so strong i have to breathe through them,i dont think its anything to panic about though.

Barbeasty · 08/03/2010 07:41

Morning all. Just marking my place- great title.

I saw the midwife last week, and all was well. My blood pressure was Â?Nice and low- do you feel faint all the time?Â? Closely followed by Â?Your iron levels are high- of course as they reduce back to normal youÂ?ll feel anaemic!Â?

Then when she went to listen to the heartbeat she got an almighty kick (That would be from the bump, not meÂ?)

Then a busy weekend, where we have ordered the pushchair and car seat. I hate making decisions, but we had it all sorted- I know what we were gettingÂ?until we got to the point where they were writing the order out and I was faced with choosing which black I wanted the car seat in. How can there be a choice of blacks- especially when they looked identical in the catalogue . We got there in the end though! And the lovely shop have said that the family fix base for the maxi cosi seats has been recalled (not a safety thing, but they were unhappy with it) but should be available by April/ May, however if it isnÂ?t they are also ordering the other base to lend us until we get what we wanted.

Ilovemyterrier · 08/03/2010 07:45

Good Morning All,
Just marking my place on the thread. Have updated my status - we are expecting a boy. Spent the day yesterday at the RYA Dinghy Show looking at Oppies & Mirrors (my DP & I are avid sailors and are hoping 'Happy Feet' will pick up the bug too!)
Am expecting 95 boxes to arrive this morning and am struggling to work out where to put them...we have just moved back to UK from Washington DC...
Have finished work so hopefully should have time now to keep up with all that's happening on the thread. I added NotGrownUpEnough to the list as well...

Another gaviscon lover here . Can really recommend the liquid sachets to keep in your bag - I find just having one on me is generally enough to keep the heartburn at bay!

I never had braxton hicks with DD so hopefully I'll be lucky again this time and avoid them again.

Think I must really be waddling now - DD has taken to swaying from side to side while I'm walking towards her mimicking my waddle

Hope everyone is feeling well this morning and enjoying some spring sunshine!

Just placemarking...back later.

Well done on the new thread Greensnail and LaT for the suggestion

Back still buggered and I appear to have picked up some sort of stomach bug (or eaten something dodgy) so all the joy of not being able to move combined wiht diarrhoea and feeling horrendously sick If I didn't have shedloads of work to do I wouldn't mind so much....

Sorry, I promise a less self-centred catch up later on or tomorrow

perkster · 08/03/2010 11:06

Hi all,

Realised I am not on the list as well, do I need to add myself? My due date is 7th June and it's a surprise.

Had a lovely girly weekend in Brighton but I am now feeling it! My left side is feeling very puffy with my ankle, calf, wrist and face feeling a bit tingly and swollen. I am guessing this is all normal at this stage and intend to put my feet up tonight (literally) in the hope it will sort it all out a bit.

I am loving the name of this new thread and is very apt, I was really proud that I was able to clip my toenails last week though I think it will be the last time without help from the other half!

roundabout1 · 08/03/2010 11:28

Hi ladies, can I join the thread? I am due on 2nd June with my 2nd, already have a 4yr old. It's so reassuring to read that I'm not the only one with the heartburn, spd, baby kicks on the bladder & all the other "wonderful" bits of pregnancy. I seem to be surrounded by people who are pregnant & blooming & I am so defintely not! It's a gorgeous day here & I'm throwing myself a pity party, me & dd had a sickness bug last week which has left me feeling very yucky together with my spd which is really painful today & all I want to do is go for a nice long walk in the sunshine & fresh air - no chance!
I've not redone the list as saw other people mentioned that may need to be added to - hope thats ok!

minimoonumbertwo · 08/03/2010 12:51

Hi all just marking my place!

v quickly as meant to be working - i had a bar of fruit & nut the other day with no nuts in it so emailed Mr & Mrs Cadbury to compalin and received a £2 voucher in the post this morning - hooray! I know I am a total loser!

MonkeyMargot · 08/03/2010 13:19

minimoon am laughing at your writing to the Cadbury family. tee hee. It reminded me of once ordering a feta and spinach salad in a pub, and there being a solitary leaf of spinach on the plate. When I complained they argued that technically, there was spinach in my salad.

Had lovely weekend here just DD, the dog and me. Lots of walks in the park. DH back tonight so it will be goodbye to an evening "meal" of cereal.

LaTrucha · 08/03/2010 13:20

Hi roundabout. Sorry you're having a lousy day. Hope making it a lazy one makes you feel better.

SPD here seems to have beena false alarm. I carried two bags of shopiing home yesterday and maybe that made me sore. I so well remember that distinctive 'kicked in the crotch' feeling . Looks like I am going to have to listen to DH more and take it easy. He's riding high because he now knows he was right to tell me not to. Very rare, very rare.

meggymegmegs · 08/03/2010 14:05

Hi everyone,

It's been a little while since my last post, some of you may remember that my best friend was given just a few days to live and very sadly she died on 25th Feb. Her funeral was last Fri and I'm just about getting my head back together after everything.

Sounds like loads has been going on here, so I'm going to have a catch up and read through everything and then write a proper post but just really wanted to check in on the new thread and say hi.

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/03/2010 14:06
