expat my hayfever has been bad but had same with ds and gp told me i couldnt take anything...saw another thread where someone has said their gp had said they could have piriton so can we take stuff?

scully · 05/07/2005 11:03

My gp also said there was nothing, although I've read Beconaise is ok and I was so bad a few weekends ago I did use it a few times. my gp prescribed some eye drops for me which have helped, but that was all he said was ok. I understand the wheezing bit, have also been like that at night, have had a few puffs of my dd's inhaler on a few nights.

TP tuesday - I'm still at 8.5 squares. I wanted to grow abit

ninah · 05/07/2005 11:23

glad it's not just me dq
I just grabbed four free 3foot by 1 foot wooden frames, the sort you used to get your school photo in. They were being disposed of from someone's office I'm either going to paint, or do four big montages for ds's new room. Will hide them from Uncle Quentin til they're on the wall tho!

We will have the Jan sales aswell!!!! yippeee Buy as little as possible and hold out for the sales LOL!!!

expatinscotland · 05/07/2005 11:59

Well not getting enough sleep is bad for baby as well. I'm gonna try some Claritin b/c this is getting ridiculous - I wheeze all night and it takes hours to fall asleep and then it's not good quality. They offer it to pregnant women in the US, so I don't buy the 'no meds' at all routine.

Crazymama · 05/07/2005 12:12

Had hoped to start a new thread for this Q, but cant work out how to do this.

Does anyone who what 'Alb' on your maternity notes stand for? Its to do with Urine - there are two tests, one for Sug which I assume is Sugar, and the other for Alb, which I have no idea?

Ive got a trace of Alb - what is this>?????

sweetheart · 05/07/2005 12:45

crazy<

I'm fairly sure that is something to do with the extra discharge that you get during pregnancy.

I think I had it on my notes after my last scan and the nurse said it was normal to find this discharge in your urine.

I'll have to have a look at my notes and let you know for sure but I'm almost definate thats what it is.

Don't worry - it's perfectly normal!!!!

ninah · 05/07/2005 12:46

apparently it's albumen (protein) answ supplied by wigwamb on another thread
Yuk that's egg-white, right!
I spend TOO Much time on here ...

OP posts:
starrynight · 05/07/2005 13:16

No, I think it is protein in your urine (not as in egg white in it!!) they measure it as it can be an indicator to pre-eclampsia if combined with other factors.

Our buggy came today (yes, we won the spur of the moment bid on ebay [ roll eyes ] )but its looking good and i've been wheeling it around the living room. Talk about hasty!

Worried about goldenoldie - has she posted anywhere else?

starrynight · 05/07/2005 13:16

I meant to see - its not something you can see in your urine. (yuk)

starrynight · 05/07/2005 13:17

GOOD GRIEF: I meant to say

starrynight · 05/07/2005 13:18

They normally put little plus signs on your notes if you have it & only worry if it is combined with headache/high blood pressure/ excess swelling etc.

sweetheart · 05/07/2005 13:19

DOH!!!!

Guess I need to buy a pregnancy book to read !!!!!

sweetheart · 05/07/2005 13:22

just done a search for golden and she hasn't posted anywhere since yesterday afternoon.

Hope she's OK!!!!

dramaqueen72 · 05/07/2005 14:13

now have giggles about egg white in my urine....

talking of medical notes, yesterday when seeing head Ob Dr at the hospital, he had two green folders of notes on me. looked the same aside from one said, on a big orange sticker, 'NOT TO BE PUT IN PATIENTS HANDS' and tis been bugging me ever since. so whats in those i cant see? thought the law changed so i could see them....its really bothering me now!

ninah · 05/07/2005 14:28

yeah adds a new dimension to being 'whisked' around the dancefloor

OP posts:
starrynight · 05/07/2005 14:32

DQ - I would imagine the notes are identical but they have to make sure they keep one set themselves rather than accidentally giving you both??! Sounds stupid but wouldn't surprise me. You could always ask? The procedure to get your old notes to read is quite time consuming but you could always do it to check.

Ninah - eugh!

dramaqueen72 · 05/07/2005 14:47

having something written about me without me being able seeing it, is really annoying me since i saw that sticker! just the whole 'school report' sort of feeling! so you can read yore old notes? but not the current ones? hmmmmmmmmm...one day, just for the heck of it, i may demand to do so!

can i remind you ladies it is TP TUESDAY!!, so get thsoe loo rolls out
(BTW just peeked at conceptionstores due in december board (its american)and they are mostly measuring bigger than, by several squares. i feel better now!)

dramaqueen72 · 05/07/2005 14:48

(and forgive my spelling)

starrynight · 05/07/2005 14:50

I expect if you ask to see the notes at an appointment the obs would let you.

I don't think i've grown since last wk but will do the TP test later - must go to pick up squids from school

sweetheart · 05/07/2005 15:05

still measuring 8 1/4 sheets here.

No change this week!!! Although my pelvic bones are telling a different story!! OUCH!!!

ninah · 05/07/2005 15:07

maybe you he'd tie your hands behind your back first tho!
Such quaint phraseology ...
