Last chance for a Scorpio, after this weekend they'll all be Sagittarians!

Real life with a baby...sigh..Junior is feeding every hour and i think my breastmilk is not rich enough, which is making me sad and hence my milk is getting thinner..its a vicious circle. Am quite hormonal and upset sorry to moan at you ladies in waiting..

Can't wait till you all give birth!!! HURRY BABIES

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 27/11/2009 20:12

Sleepless or it could be him building up his milk supply from you? Some people are naturally supplied with this amazing very fatty milk, and baby does not need to demand too much (my SIL was like that, her milk was made of 1000s of calories per feed i am sure and had a huge baby because of i and others need to build their supply through the baby more. DD went through a phase of wanting milk every single hour for about 6 hours in a row, every day in the first few weeks. She was building her supply. I also felt it was a problem with my milk. I constantly thought that until she started weaning. The she we eat so much i thought she would turn into a huge fat baby, but she continued with the same growth pattern, and i felt so much better about my milk! Try not to be sad. It is hard bf'ing because you cannot see how much they drink, or how rich it is, but it is very likely he is getting everything he needs from you.

Laugs · 27/11/2009 20:13

Sleepless that must be exhausting! Poor you. I think when they feed like that it might be to do with building up your supply or having a growth spurt? Are you managing ok with DD at the same time? (Did the baby doll do any good by the way? We have a doll's pushchair to give DD as her new baby present...)

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 27/11/2009 20:18

fed up is not the word.

There is just nothing going on. Baby is moving as normal, movement here and there, toe still under my rib. I have so had enough it is not funny any more. This pg has been hard from start to finish, you would think someone would take pity on me and at least let it finish on time rather than drag it out even longer.

Baby will show up on Monday i am sure, as i only need waters broken apparantly, not the full drugs of induction. But Monday is a long way away when every part of me is starting to ache and feel stiff and sore. I am flitting between feeling so frustrated i want to shout and hit something and very tearful . Sorry to moan. As norma

And to top it off the laptop power supply is jiggered. I had to spend 2 hours this evening attempting to get some power into the laptop, appears to be a loose connection or something. So that is like £100 down the drain. I have it working for now, but in that 'it could stop working any moment' type working.

Laugs · 27/11/2009 20:19

Oops x-posted with Pavlov. I agree!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 27/11/2009 20:19

words. not word. Fed Up - two words if i am going to rant, i should be grammatically correct at least eh?

Comma2 · 27/11/2009 20:27

right, pav never ever forget your grammar. I mean, MN can take a lot, but it stops somewhere .

Sleep don't worry I say-- Esme drinks every 5 min and I have plenty of milk. They just do whatever they want. Unless babe is loosing weight, no worries.

Ninjacat · 27/11/2009 20:29

I am watching embarrassing bodies with a 12 year old. Trying very hard not to be embarrassed but the foreskin bit was a bit close to the uhm... bone.

Pav Fedup is definitely the word.

I went for a walk today and finished my book today. Oh how exciting is my life.

BeckyBendyLegs · 27/11/2009 20:34

Ninjacat you'll be on the other thread soon! I'm watching Eastenders - wasn't sure about embarraassing old bodies!

Pavlov I bet your baby comes this weekend. I was like you two weeks ago, felt pretty much ok, and woke up on Saturday, had baby by teatime.

Nearly there xx

scarlotti · 27/11/2009 20:40

Oh pav sorry to hear you're so fed up but perfectly understandable. Hope you cope ok over the weekend.

sleepless I had a period of about 24 hours like that and it was to build up my milk supply. Hang on in there if you can and hopefully tomorrow will bring more milk and a more settled baby

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 27/11/2009 20:41

bbl i hope so. How are things your end?

Fedup - yes that is one word isn't it?

I am wondering if he might turn up tomorrow. If he does, there will be perfect symmetry between him and DD.

DD. Booked for induction monday, had sweep on thurs, she arrived sat, 10 days early.

DS. Booked for induction monday, had sweep on thurs. If he turns up tomorrow, saturday he will be 10 days late.

P'raps that is why? i am coming up with all sorts of theories while being so bored. I am normally so physically active, flying around here and there. Sedantry is not me.

raggie · 27/11/2009 21:06

Laughing at ninja - close to the bone. Guffaww!

Good luck pav...I'm off to watch Gavin and Stacey on iPlayer now after a hot curry and some acupressure points to be studied and applied.

Might even try 'climbing aboard' (is that our euphemism?) although I think that's what might have edged this baby into the wrong position the other day

Lots of babies this weekend pleeeeeeeease.

Night all...x

hobnob57 · 27/11/2009 21:27

I'm a bit knackered by all this now, lack of sleep beginning to catch up with me. Isla has diarrhoea-type stuff going on and needs me to be a dummy to ease her tummy troubles.

Chill out, girls. It'll happen when it happens. I so didn't believe it, but the proof is curled up on my knee as I type

Off to bed...

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 27/11/2009 21:43

hobnob i hope you get some sleep tonight. I think of you and how long you had to wait to meet Isla, every time i get really really frustrated with this waiting. You are my inspiration!

claired21 · 27/11/2009 22:35

Just home from cinema, been having contractions about 10 mins apart since about 5:30pm. Now I'm home and able to relax I suspect it will all ease off but just going to run a bath then try to get some sleep.

Will probably be back on later or tomorrow still waiting!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 28/11/2009 03:25

claire21 now, i have been trying to think of interesting places for waters to break/go into labour - the cinema, of course! might have to try that tomorrow! Sounds promising, i really hope it comes to something and you are not kept hanging on x

I am awake. Nothing happening, now there is a surprise

claired21 · 28/11/2009 05:07

Waters haven't broken but def in labour. For 12 hours now. Exhausted and still at home trying to keep walking around with tens on. I really want to sleep!!

claired21 · 28/11/2009 05:20

Anyway pav, awake at 3am? Is anything happening at your end? I'm doing laps of my living room and keep going into the kitchen for a glass of water. Deliberately not bringing it back to the living room so I have somewhere to walk to.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 28/11/2009 07:54

Claire!...we might be doing it together!

I hope you make some progress very soon.

I think I have had a contraction, but hard to say (you would think I would know eh?).

I was lying here, after getting back to sleep at about 4:40am or so, with DD still asleep, about 20 mins ago, idly day dreaming of what my boy will look like, and he was there in my arms, and he opened his mouth to root, and suckled. As he did, i felt the 'letdown' feeling of breastfeeding, a tingling that went right into my womb, and proceeding in my lower back tightening, slightly painful, dull but bearable, lasted for 30 seconds? And then, about 10 mins later, another one...how mad is that?

And now. I have a vaguely leaky boob . I said that to DH, and DD who woke up at the same time (after never sleeping til 7:30am, even when she wakes in the night) said 'who licked your boobs mama?'

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 28/11/2009 07:54

Oh good luck though, i meant to say....i hope this is it...fingers crossed it is more speedy now, and as painfree as possible.

xx

scarlotti · 28/11/2009 09:18

pav and claire sounds promising from both of you so fingers crossed

Claire are you managing to eat too? I lost lots of energy as wasn't eating and it slowed things down for me. Honey on toast is a great sugar hit and energy hit.

DH has a big football match on today so I am taking DS1 and DS2 to a party then picking up DD and taking them all to the Christmas Fair!! First mum of 3 outing - I must be mad!!

claired21 · 28/11/2009 09:37

Came to hospital at 9 after painful contractions 3mins apart since 5:15. 1 cm dilated!

Mw said cervix has thinned and she'd expect me to deliver today but the car journey has eased everything off. Don't want to drive the half hour home again in case all grinds to a halt so sticking around, walking lots & trying to eat but the contractions make me want to vomit.

I'm so tired. Does anyone sleep during contractions?

sassmonkey · 28/11/2009 09:51

Thanks, Scarlotti. It's true, there are no medals for bravery in labour, and I'll just do what I need to to get through and, as you so nicely put it, have that baby bliss in my arms. It's getting big and heavy, it's time for it to come out of my belly.

We partook in a little nookie this morning, but I'm quite sure the baby still isn't engaged so don't think it will trigger anything. I'm going to figure out how the Tens machine works, just in case!

How exciting for claire and pav! Can't wait to hear the next installment and hope things go smoothly for you.

Good luck for your outing with 3, Scarlotti!

sassmonkey · 28/11/2009 09:59

How frustrating, Claire. My BHs are starting to make me want to be sick, so I can well imagine that contractions will do the same. I think just get whatever high energy stuff you can manage into you. Could you find some dried fruit or cereal bars or something that will give you energy that will last for a while?

There's an accupressure point I was reading about yesterday that is good for calming sick feelings. If you measure three fingers width up the inside of your wrist, it's between the two tendons there. If you put pressure on that point you should fee a difference within 2-5 minutes. Apparently. Could be poppycock, could help! You can do it on one or both wrists at the same time.

Hang in there, you are on the road to meeting your sweet wee one.

helips · 28/11/2009 10:06

Good luck Claire and pav, hope to see you on the antenatal thread soon!
