PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 15/11/2009 21:41

trikken the whole family then! a proper family affair ! How did you feel about that?

hobnob i was thinking about that just today actually. Soon i hope as I don't have any others! I told DH he might have to go buy me an emergency one if baby arrives before they do! I think i was told sometime in November (a big window of like 4-5 weeks though i think!).

hobnob57 · 15/11/2009 21:47

just found the email - dispatch can be up to the 19th, so can't be too long now?

Trikken · 15/11/2009 21:48

suprisingly comfortable, dh was being my squeeze toy when i got cx, mum was rubbing my back and mil was just being lovely and encouraging and nobody took over and was bossy or anything so it was just a nice lot of support there, plus another good thing the mw katherine was the same one who delivered ds as her 40th baby to qualify her as proper mw, so that was a nice touch. I did get my etinox taken away at the end, apparantly i was od-ing on it and going into a world of my own!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 15/11/2009 22:06

Oh that sounds lovely, great that they were able to support you so well. They took your equinox away? now that was rude. They did the same to me too, as I was too good at using it!

LissyGlitter · 16/11/2009 00:16

Right, this will hopefully be my last internet fix before I have the baby, so see you all at the other side!

Thanks for everything this pregnancy, and, if i don't get on for a while, good luck to everyone!

Stormfly · 16/11/2009 05:33

Good luck to Lissy for today... Also congratulations to all recent arrivals! I have only just managed to catch up as my MN seems to be playing up a bit so I have just about managed to piece together the last three busy days on the Nov. thread.

Kyte - That does seem a lot of fuss - mine both lost weight for over a week and only started to gain from day ten. Goodness knows when they were back up to their birthweights - I'll have to check the notes to remind myself for this time round.

Have had lots of BHs Saturday and today and now been awake most of night with crampy-type ones and feel off and unsettled. It's all rather unpredictable isn't it - to say the least. Hard to know what to do with the niggles really. Great to hear the birth stories on the new thread though!

beepbeep · 16/11/2009 07:32

Stormfly - am the same here, been having cramps most of night, they started yesterday afternoon, pretty much 10mins apart and some verging on painful, but then all stopped. Last 2 labours have been really straightforward - DD -contractions started, carried on, I gave birth - DS - waters leaked, contractions started, I gave birth!! Bloomin 3rd babies, it's doing my head in, I was tempted to go for a walk at 1 this morning, but it was chucking it down! So now am shattered and obviously DCs were up bright and early! Photo day at mother & toddler today!

Ninjacat · 16/11/2009 07:34

lissy I doubt you will see this but best of luck x

OP posts:
ursigurke · 16/11/2009 08:07

Lissy, I'll be thinking of you today. Good luck.
Haven't had time to catch up yet. Paula is still sleeping so maybe I can have breakfast with my husband before he is leaving for his first day at work.
Project for today: getting a passport photo of Paula. I really have no idea how to go somewhere with her and then wake her up and having her her eyes open, looking serious and directly into the camera, not smiling or crying. Ah, and if I have to support the baby's head, my hand must not be seen on the picture
Well, good luck to everyone who is in or near labour at the moment. Hope to be able to catch up later

ursigurke · 16/11/2009 08:33

trikken, congratulations!!! and how nice to have mum and mil there as a positive experience.

katster37 · 16/11/2009 08:37

Lissy good luck!!

Usigurke - good luck with the passport photo, that doesn't sound the easiest thing to be doing with a two week old baby

Trikken Wow, that sounds like a pretty long labour. I never understand how they get the 'official' labour times - they are always so short, when really it has been going on for hours, if not days, beforehand. And I must say, I am impressed that your mum and Mil were there too! I think that would scare me slightly!!

No news here despite pineapple AND sex... (not at the same time). Had about an hour of contractions, then nothing. Grrrrr.

beepbeep · 16/11/2009 08:50

ursigurke - we have always got the LO's passport photos done a Timpsons (key cutting place) -they have a beanbag thing that they cover then lay the baby on to take the photo.

Ninjacat · 16/11/2009 09:10

DS organised a very small baby shower for me recently and specified that gifts were optional only, I'm not good at centre of attention.
Any way I have just been invited to a baby shower with a LIST (which includes a cot), web addresses, a note to say all materials should be natural and organic and a request to say what you will be bringing so as not to double up. Hmmm, not sure what I think of that?

OP posts:
longwayaway · 16/11/2009 09:16

Congrats to Trikken and good luck, Lissy!

Katster Sorry to hear you are still on the stop-start roller coaster, but I am at the idea of sex and pineapple... at the same time.

Ursigurke I'm going to need a passport photo of baby as well when she comes - would be interested to hear how it works out in the end! I thought they could lay the LO down on something, like beepbeep said.

Laugs definitely nesting here. Not that I could break out into a run if I tried, but I recognize the sudden sense of urgency!

Ninjacat those types of showers are extremely common in the states... yuck.

I had a total freak-out last night when I realized (really, concretely) that I could go into labor any day now. Took me forever to fall asleep.

claired21 · 16/11/2009 09:23

Rollcall!!

Hope I've almost got this right! There's at least one other baby announcement on fb but I don't want to post it until the mum has! Hope I haven't added anyone who hasn't made their announcement yet and apologies if I have any names or dates wrong...

Well done claire for managing to round up all those new arrivals, was wondering who'd work up the nerve to attempt that task!

It seems like such a long time since last Monday and so much has happened. I count at least 9 new arrivals Nice to be reminded of everyone's dd too, although I'm sure you can do without the reminding missese and weston. Thinking of you.

misssese · 16/11/2009 10:05

claired im going crazy im just finding it all rather frustrating now. im having my first sweep today at 10.40 hopefully this will have some effect?? if not looks like i will have to be induced which i really didnt want!

claired21 · 16/11/2009 10:17

I know how you feel misssese, I'd rather avoid induction as well. Just remember what the ladies on here have said about having a choice. Wait and see what your midwife says today, there might have been some progress. Hope it goes well, let us know!

Just added myself and Laugs.

So far no news from MIL about how she is doing and if she has to go for op.(she hurt her arm).
She phoned my mother on Saturday to wish her happy birthday and complained to her that she can't do anything and she has to rely on FIL to do everything for her, she can't lift up her arm, and that she is in so much pain.
BUT then she phoned DH and told him that the pain is much better and we will see what happens this week. WTF!?!?!?!?!

Sorry for rant

Tomorrow is my Birthday....
