Try a nice warm bath - with DS2 this accelerated things from about 10mph to 80mph!

VenusInfers · 11/11/2009 21:10

Great news, Trikken, lets hope things take off for you!

Pav sorry to hear you are still feeling rough. Zoo sounds brilliant though. "Lions and tigers and bears! Oh my!" I love the zoo in Bristol, though I lived there for about 7 years I only went to see it in the summer before I left. A lot of the enclosures are a bit small by modern standards, but there's a fantastic nocturnal house where the bats fly around your head.

I overdid walking around town trying to find an anniversary present yesterday so have just sat around today and made a made a banana cake. That's it.. Oh, and spent far too long on MN! Pleased that my LO hasn't turned up today, as it is our anniversary - it's the only day in the entire year I hoped he wouldn't be born on.

TOK · 11/11/2009 21:31

OK, my mil has been here for about 3 hours and is driving me mad already. This woman just does not shut up. Even now, when I'm on the laptop she is still talking at me- take a bloody hint woman!

She has already told me that I'm letting my ds go past his sleep at night and should put him to bed earlier and what I need to do to bring on labour. Do you still get arrested for strangling someone, vene if you're pregnant..and its your mil???

To make things worse, I am stuck with them all day tomorrow while dh is at work and ds at nursery. Think I may need a full day in bed Or even better, that I go into labour tonight- wishful thinking!

Got mw tomorrow and am keeping everything crossed that a) she can do the sweep and b) it has the desired effect!

Happy Anniversary Venus!

lucieerin · 11/11/2009 21:36

Had meant to come on and do a lengthy post tonight, read through everyone's comments etc and get stuck in, but feeling really low Had my booking in appointment today for the section- well I was told I did at 12 weeks, had a follow up letter, everything. Got there to be told that I was supposed to be there last Thursday. News to me! Had to wait in the waiting room for a very very long time to be "squeezed in" with no idea if they were still going to book me in or what And it took so long we weren't back in time to get ds2 to nursery. Ended up balling my eyes out in hysterics at the doctor before she even had chance to say a word.

Anyways, have my date. Baby Isaac will be born on the 19th.

That's all. Sorry. I know I've not really participated much since I joined. Will post when I'm a bit cheerier x

raggie · 11/11/2009 21:38

This thread is more impossible to keep up with than ever - and we all know that's saying something!

Fingers crossed that 'the lady's not for turnig' and thinking of you comma!

And tigger and eeyore too! Glad things are progressing along

trikken sounds promising!

sleepless - sorry your mum is being a pain but I think you're right - you shouldn't have to deal with it right now...

BBL shhh about the airport in Kidlington

Congrats maman

beepbeep sorry to hear about DS, sending get well soon wishes across oxfordshire

Good luck for tomorrow southern

As for me...I've been having a few BHs (keeping practice) and feeling v irritable all day and needing to wee ALL THE DAMN TIME. That's all my symptoms so just another third trimester day for me

Laugs · 11/11/2009 21:40

TOK I'd get DH to take DS to nursery and stay in bed for as long as you possibly can. Love the fact that you are typing about her while she is talking to you though - don't think I could do that with a straight face!

Keeping my fingers crossed for Trikken and Tigger and wishing that the good ladies of East Surrey would push push push so that Southernbelle can have her bed in the morning.

Happy anniversary MrandMrsVenus

TOK · 11/11/2009 21:40

lucieerin, being pregnant makes us all emotional and things always seem ten times worse than they are. I'm sure doctors and midwives encounter hysterical pregnant women all the time.

At least you have a date to focus on now for meeting Isaac. I'm sure after a good night's sleep you'll start to get excited tomorrow.

TOK · 11/11/2009 21:44

Totally with you on the front raggie, I'm trying really hard to contain it and just be happy for everyone but that little green eyed monster is fighting to get out constantly!

Laugs · 11/11/2009 21:45

Oops meant to say Bonjour! and Bienvenue! to baby Dan. Maman after all the stress through your pregnancy, I bet it was a huge relief to finally meet him at last. I bet he's gorgeous

raggie I can't keep up either. MN is becoming a full-time job

lucieerin · 11/11/2009 21:49

That's the problem, it's why I broke down...I am in too much pain for a good night's sleep I literally had not been to sleep before the appointment, and the night before I didn't fall asleep until about eight in the morning and then only had a few hours before dp had to go to work and I had to wake up With the SPD, the stopping and starting contractions, the back pain, it's just literally unbearable. I literally don't know how I'm going to make it another 8 days..that's why I feel so down I guess, the idea that I know for definite I have 8 more days of suffering. I know pregnancy hurts everyone but this is my third and I know what's normal and what's not and this isn't I'm literally up in tears all night every night, it's not just getting comfortable it's being in agony. I am just as excited about meeting baby Isaac I just am struggling to cope now..it's not like there's anything I can do, dp is incredibly supportive, he's changed his hours (he's self employed) so i don't have to school runs - not that i could - he does everything he possibly can so i don't have to, panders to my every whim...I don't have to do anything and still it just keeps getting more painful Had enough now!!! !x

Comma2 · 11/11/2009 21:55

Aaaaaah....it hurts a wee bit now...

Still at it, only 4 cm dilated in 10 h, pft. Really hopes it'll speed up a bit once I get to 5 cm. Also really hope my doctor will put in a late night for me. (also really hope the epidural lady isn't going anywhere).

DH is gone for dinner but ives me time to mnet!

aaaaaaaaaaah! Gotta go!

raggie · 11/11/2009 22:05

Argh! Live action labour from comma! I love it!

On the other hand, feeling so, so sorry for you Lucierin. I can't even imagine how awful what you're going through is but I can sympathise with how frustrated you are. You poor, poor thing. I'm just glad you have a supportive DP who sounds worth his weight in gold. I know it doesn't help much but I am thinking of you and sending you hugs and wishing there was something any of us could do to make things better.

katster37 · 11/11/2009 22:32

Wow - live labour thread from Comma - yay!!!

Lucieerin , you must be so fed up... . And eight days will only be seven in the morning... I hope you manage to get some sleep.

DH has just shaved my legs... The dignity of pregnancy is fantastic

And for everyone else: have a knitted boob!

katster37 · 11/11/2009 22:33

Also Pav I am so impressed that you have TWO birthing balls!! Is that in case you had twins?

lucieerin · 11/11/2009 23:13

Thanks ladies, I know I'm being a little pathetic hehe, it really isn't long in the grand scheme of things, hopefully will feel better in the morning

That's really exciting Comma, good luck hon xx

Trikken · 12/11/2009 06:09

im up, but only cos of bad acid reflux, aggravated by the cold and cough ds has lovingly given me, thanks darling. nothing of significance happening yet, but i am still hopeful!

beepbeep · 12/11/2009 06:46

Lucieerin - I feel for you, this is also my third & although not as bad as you, I was no where near this uncomfortable or had the pain I have now with the other pregnancies, I ended up getting up and just crying downstairs last night. I'm finding it really hard to sleep, Had just got to sleep last night when DH started stroking my belly and woke me up - should have been nice, but was SOOO annoyed. Then DD came in at 5 this morning, DH goes to work early so I suggested he give her a cuddle and put her back to bed where she would have gone back to sleep for another hours or so(what we'd normally do) but he decided that she'll go back to sleep in our bed - yeah right, so have been awake with her since 5, in the meantime DH buggers off to work.

Trikken - also got cold here, feeling bit rough. Just hoping DS is well enough to go to nursery cause last thing i need is to take him to consultant appt with me this morning.

Comma - Hope things have happened for you overnight.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 12/11/2009 08:00

beepbeep on your behalf. men have no clue sometimes do they? although would be quite nice if my dh ever stroked my bump so a little but not much at that time!

katster have 2 balls as a friend gave me one at the same time that i bought one! but no pump for either so both bloody useless.

I have been sick in the night after DH went out to buy me crumpets he forgot to buy at the shops and i ate 2. I woke up to acid reflux, and dozed back off only to be sick in my half sleep, just a mouthful but made me as i nearly choked! anyway, i took some omeprazol and metaclopromid for my HG but not sure if i should be taking it, so need to call the gp/midwife this morning and check out if its ok. As i am not holding much down, bit concerned as i don't want them to suggest hospital or anything. They won't do that at this stage will they? DH is worried as he thinks I won't have any energy for birth.

My arm still hurts from the piggie vaccine. And the top of my thighs hurt. In fact, i hurt generally! but not where i want to be hurting and i suspect this baby is not going to be early! Funny as i am sort of feeling like i am overdue i was so convinced he would be early

comma great to have some live feed. Although you appear quiet now so guessing things have sped up somewhat for you? Hope you are holding your baby and all is well x

BeckyBendyLegs · 12/11/2009 08:21

So sorry to hear so many of us are feeling sick / tired. Pav you poor thing. Me too, not as bad though. Had an awful night of the worst indigestion ever and persistant cough - DH slept through the whole lot of hacking and sitting up, sighing, loooking for gaviscon, weeing, blowing nose etc. I ended up sucking polos at 4am in an effort to get rid of the acid. Yuckity yuck.

Ah well. It'll all be over soon and we'll have our babies in our arms and we'll be tired for an entirely different reason!

My mum is coming to visit today. She's coming to stay from Monday onwards if I'm still with child. She has delivered babies in her nursing career so this is quite reassuring JUST IN CASE! Not that I'm sure about my own mother delivering my baby but at least she'd know what she's doing if this one comes quickly!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 12/11/2009 08:25

BBL - oh its horrid isn't it? Not sure what is worse, the acid, or the vomitting. At least being sick brings respite from the pain. As as DH said to a good friend yesterday, at least when i am being sick i am not able to moan

Tabbykat · 12/11/2009 08:35

Morning all - sorry to all those feeling rough. I actually got a bit of sleep last night for teh first time in god knows how many weeks - managed three unbroken hours at one satge ! so feeling a bit more human today.

Few contractions last night which have YET AGAIN tailed off to nothing - grr - but have sweep booked for this afternoon so hopefully that will get things moving a bit. Just really want o get on with it now as am so sick of trying to keep the house tidy ready for new arrival and just want to sit on the sofa eating biscuits - sadly DD not keen! It's quite sunny here at the mo so will go for a big walk this morning at the duck park to see if that will shift things on a bit as well.

Good luck to Comma, Eeyore and Tigger. Sounds promising Trikken - hopefully will be joining you soon, xx

TaborJeanKhan · 12/11/2009 08:54

Hi all,

Erika's DP here. I'm sure you already know, but Erika gave birth to Bryn at 2:20am yesterday. He's a beautiful 7lb 9oz. Thanks for all your support girls. Erika was a superstar - refused all pain medication until right at the end when she had a epidural, but really need not have bothered as she gave birth not twenty minutes later without any tearing. Amazing, I'm so proud of her.

I changed my first nappy yesterday. And then had to change it again. Little tyke

Right, anyway. A flying visit. Good luck for those of you still waiting!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 12/11/2009 08:56

Thanks for posting tabor that is fantastic news, well done erika and welcome Bryn, and well done you for changing a nappy twice in one day! Keep that up!

Give erika big hugs

Ninjacat · 12/11/2009 08:59

Welcome to the new arrivals.
Good luck to the imminent arrivals.
So sorry for those in pain and under stress.

DP put on a baby shower for me yesterday which was really lovely. He organised it and did all the hosting. Was a bit worried a house of clicking ladies might bring things on but still hanging in here.

I'm feeling very today. DS is supposed to visit his dad this weekend. First time in 7 mnths. Obviously I am in no state to drive to Welshpool from Bristol but said I would repay any driving in kind once I'm on my feet. Have been having e-mails saying I should pay half his traveling expenses or drop him half way. Ugh, I would walk over hot coals the entire way to see my child, why is he being such an arse? He chose to move 3hrs away . Any way he won't confirm with me that he is coming but has sent ds a text saying see you friday. Grrr grrr grrr.

Sorry to rant. Just want to relax and get ready for baby.
