OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LissyGlitter · 10/11/2009 12:30

missese everyone is welcome to the fb group!

Have you tried using that contraction master site? It is really good.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 10/11/2009 12:35

OK, I am very impressed with myself...i have just signed up to sms texts on fb. I was lucky, in that as I was trying to figure it out, there was a little advert which popped up on the side. Otherwise it would never have happened

Right ladies, I am off to get dressed then go be jabbed with piggie vaccine.

Good luck to the labouring ladies. Fingers crossed we get some speedy news from you!

ErikaMaye · 10/11/2009 13:31

Good on you Pavlov Hope the jab isn't too painful.

Okay so I now have what feels like the worlds most agonisingly painful period going on, minus bleeding. Guess I should try and eat something, as its only an hour before I need to head to the hospital.

Am kinda nervous now - what if they tell me its not my waters? Though I had to change my bottoms twice, and when I stood up this morning it was dripping down my leg and it certainly wasn't urine. And surely no one can produce that much discharge?! Midwife was certain when I described it to her that it was my waters. So the logical answer is that it is, right?

BeckyBendyLegs · 10/11/2009 13:32

Sounds like your waters to me!

LissyGlitter · 10/11/2009 13:36

erika That is your waters. If it isn't, I would be really very surprised, especially with you having pain too. Good luck!

Laugs · 10/11/2009 13:41

My waters didn't break but that sounds like what I'd imagine too! Don't be gutted if they send you home though, it doesn't mean you're not in labour, it would just be because you need to progress further and it's better to do that at home where you can move around, dance to You Tube and keep us updated!

Trikken · 10/11/2009 13:50

am loving the fb mumsnet group. its nice to put faces with names!

misssese · 10/11/2009 13:51

well im definitely not havening contractions rather disappointed oh well i cant be pregnant forever she will have to come out at some point!! also love the facebook group its lovely to put a face to the name ( and find out everyones real names) although it is a tad confusing!! erica iv been told grazing is good in labour and helps you to birth quicker rather than having a big meal.is everyone fussing over you??

misssese · 10/11/2009 13:57

trikken good minds think alike
lissy love the contraction master saving that for when i need it!!

sleeplessinthecity · 10/11/2009 14:01

I don't know who's who on FB!!!

Laugs · 10/11/2009 14:05

Oh dear, poor DD is sitting watching cbeebies while I attempt to navigate my way round facebook for the first time in about a year! It's lovely being able to put faces to names (even though mine is a cop out pic of DD) sleepless who are you on facebook?

missesse sorry to hear the contractions have stopped

southernbelle77 · 10/11/2009 14:12

Oh goodness, seems like it's happening for a few of you! Good luck girls! Erika it sounds like your waters for sure )

All this talk of facebook is making me feel like a right old fuddy duddy as I don't have it! Did once but hated it so deleted it and not going to open it up again so I'm stuck with reading this to hear what is happening!

Whoever it was that was asking (Laugs I think), I'm not having a CS, but am going in tomorrow to be induced. Well, I'd better be anyway! They MUST have a bed for me! I have to call at 6am (and I will be phoning, on the dot!) to find out if there is a bed for me.

I've blitzed upstairs today! Even moved the bed and matress to hoover underneath it (which was bloody painful, but if it's moving baby down then it's worth it!) and have zapped the bathrooms and hoovered everywhere! I also decorated dd's room with Hello Kitty and High School Musical stickers!

tigger32 · 10/11/2009 14:15

Just popping in quickly to say Good luck erika definitely have a light snack to keep your energy up!
Yes that has got to be your waters, sounds just like when mine went, do you have something to sit on in the car? Maternity mat/bin liner and towel?

Keep us updated

BeckyBendyLegs · 10/11/2009 14:17

Southernbelle you are soooo nesting!!! This means you are ready. It is getting really exciting now.

Off to pick up the DSs now. DS2 has stayed late at nursery as 'the animal man' has been to visit with his snakes, insects, etc to show the children. I hope DS2 enjoyed himself.

I'm loving the loads of new friends on facebook! You are all so 'real' now!

skorpion · 10/11/2009 14:18

Wow, it's so nice to put faces to all the names! Great idea, lissy.

Keeping my fingers crossed for all imminent arrivals.

Trikken · 10/11/2009 14:21

yes, BBL almost surreal seeing everyone after being usernames for so long!

katster37 · 10/11/2009 14:21

FB thing def a good idea. Am slightly freaking out now though, as cos it is an open group, all our friends etc can see what we have written - do you reckon we can close the group when we've all joined, and have someone who can accept new people? I know I sound mad, but I am really funny about FB after a few nasty incidents!

Erika - how is it going?? Did the hospital tell you a time to go in?

LissyGlitter · 10/11/2009 14:26

katster I did think of making it a closed group, but worried that if I went into hospital I might not be able to accept people (not sure what you can and can't do on a mobile).

In a couple of days, so most people will have had a chance to join, shall we close it? Also, any volunteers to be admins so it isn't just me, in case of hospital/new baby taking up loads of time etc?

claired21 · 10/11/2009 14:30

Lissy I'm happy to be another administrator, my due date is 29th and I fully expect to still be here come December! That should cover your hospital time?

claired21 · 10/11/2009 14:31

PS What on earth is this smiley all about?

Trikken · 10/11/2009 14:33

I think making it a closed group in a few days would be a good idea. dont mind being admin, im willing to accept that my comp is on pretty much all day, (except when t'internet is playing up!)

katster37 · 10/11/2009 14:33

Yes, I don't mind either, LIssy - sorry, am not trying to be a pain, am just a bit paranoid!!

Claired I have no idea - but I am glad to have found it!! Has it always been there?!?!

claired21 · 10/11/2009 14:34

I think it's new but it looks more like a knitted boob than a biscuit to me!

tigger32 · 10/11/2009 14:40

I'm so glad someone has said about closing the fb group, has been worrying me too! Also who is Helen? Just wondering how she managed to have a baby in March this year and then get on the due Nov thread?

Back to the knitted boob again then

helips · 10/11/2009 14:53

Hi all,

Just popping in to say a massive congrats to wook and nigella more babies, hoorah!

Also, good luck Erika hope it all goes smoothly for you and that you are cuddling your baby boy soon.

Intrigued by scarlotti's potential news!

Have joined the facebook too, so great to put faces to names but agree with katster am also slightly worried about friends being nosy! Want what I write on here to be private!

All is well here. Amelia is being an angel baby, sleeping loads still and generally being gorgeous It was mine and dh's wedding anniversary yesterday so we had a glass of champers in frount of the telly, we know how to live it up!

Hope to hear news of babies soon and looking forward to a post natal group...
