Well he may not be sleeping but O is having one of his least clingy days ever! He's currently transfixed by Fireman Sam and has swivelled round on his playmat so he can watch it!
(Should that be accompanied by a bad mummy emoticon for leaving him infront of tv??!)

Kay - a second AF dance for you to then?!

Can't - I think you need to stick with your new name for a bit longer then...

Diege - I wonder if our husbands have similar looks? Mine is v pale skinned, dark hair (typically irish actually!)

essenceofSES · 23/09/2009 16:45

Hello IDOB! Not sending you a slap as completely understandable but sending a combo of labour and patience vibes

Diege · 23/09/2009 16:45

Oh poor you IDOB!! The rest of your week does sound fun though, would be a shame to go into labour and miss it all
Yes join the shitting it waiting for af club KAYZ!!! Sounds like we're cycle buddies
I do like the idea of the Ipod CANT

Kayzr · 23/09/2009 16:50

See I was sick the day after we GOF so I am not sure if the pill worked. I need to do AF dance, though it is probably just AF coming that is causing the pains.

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 23/09/2009 16:54

Thanks Diege, how do I know if it is a good diploma or a bad one? And is having a diploma after a short and nifty 12 week course enough to go off to start your own business? Was thinking to get a start on the portifolio, once we're in the new house, if they will let me do what I want to it I can firstly showcase that, and I wouldn't mind to start it properly, putting the word out that I'd do it for free (as long as any customer paid for the materials etc. obviously) But it would give me a good idea if I am actually any good at it, and if it'd be worth putting any proper money into it, how it'd work with/around the kids, etc. etc. I may just be getting way ahead of myself, but if this course would get me to the point where I could actually make a go of it, I could see it working perfectly! The one I was looking at is here. Thanks BTW, wouldn't know who else to ask!

Ses, good luck with the 'tough love' bit, you will find if you get the consistancy right, it will all eventually work out

IDOB, not much fun is it? You have every right to be narky and stroppy, comes with the territory of being a woman pregnant

cantmummyhaveabreak · 23/09/2009 16:55

haha- you text her?

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 23/09/2009 16:58

Oh and Ses, TV, baby infront of it, meh, it's when you get the point of washing 1 pair of jeans or something, not because they need washing but because you can plonk the kids in front of the washer it get's a bit bad mummy emoticon time!

Can you see the headlines? "Mother makes kids dizzy"

Kayzr · 23/09/2009 16:59

No I posted on FB!

2beautifulgirls, who I think changed her name.(she moved to USA) says hello!! I'm posting her some Galaxy over.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 23/09/2009 17:02

I saw that Kayz!! That'll teach me to refresh properly- and look at the next page before i reply!!

Have had to ditch the ipod as DD2 is really unhappy- think she's tired but i want her knackered for bedtime so she'll sleep (or at least thats the plan) gonna see if i can let her have half an hour then wake her up.

Diege · 23/09/2009 17:28

LIGHTENING, TBH I've never heard of a diploma awarded after only 12 weeks, and I'd be a tad suspicious of how indepth the 12 modules can be as usual time for ONE module is 12 weeks..Having said that, it totally depends on where you're going with it I;d say...If it was for entry for a degree it wouldn't do (no 12 week course would), but it may well be what you're after if it's just to arm yourslef with the skills and know-how. After all, I'd think the majority of designers get their knwoledge through experience, so may be just what you need. I'd certainly e-mail them and ask a bit about the instsitute, and about the tutor's qualifications/background. On-line courses are hard going, esp as they offer a 'silent tutor' policy - ie, even with the OU which is distance learning, you have a chance to meet up with fellow students and your tutor. I'll have a nosy around on your behalf anyway - is it def distance learning or could you do a few hours one evening a week in a college?

Diege · 23/09/2009 17:29

I'd give her a cat nap now CANT or she may end up overly-tired and then you'll know about it!

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 23/09/2009 17:45

No I could do a few hours a week in the evenings at a college, but it would depend on the college, or rather where the college is, maybe Preston or Liverpool would be OK. I have been reading another one and it says around 18 months for the diploma, and it reckons it's listed with all sorts of educational authorites and institutes etc. It's here, it seems like it's more genuine, but at the same time it seems to be a bit money-grabbing IYKWIM? Every bloody paragraph is finished with a "sign up now" thingy.

TBH, when I was looking at the courses (not interior design) on the OU to get a degree, I really don't think I could do it! It said you needed 300 points for a degree, you do so many different courses that are somewhere between 15 and 60 points each, and that each single point is on average 10 hours work, doing that, for a couple of hours in the week day evenings, I'd be dead and burried before I got the degree! So, yes, I'm not looking for an 'easy' route into it, but at the same time, I think going for a degree/similar is pushing it!

Kayzr · 23/09/2009 17:54

I want to do an interior design course. The council run one here so maybe you can look at that Lightning.

tinksbiggirlhasstartedschool · 23/09/2009 18:00

cor good luck diege and kay for the results u want it must be catching.

Kayzr · 23/09/2009 19:58

Dylan is asleep only took 5 minutes!!! Woooo

Diege · 23/09/2009 20:11

Hi LIGHTNING! I have to say that last link you posted does look a better set-up, especially with the business advice/mentoring afterwards. I've also heard of that institute before, though hadn't heard of the level 4 thingy it gave you, which is odd as I';ve had experience of most accreditation boards With the first one you looked at I;d say you get the basics - no frills, but that may be all that you need. On the other hand, it's pretty frustrating if there is no human voice on hand when you're tearing your hair out over assignments, and I'd guess that the completion rate is pretty low (you could ask). You tend to get what you pay for, although don;t be fooled necessarily by the frills and packaging of the second. Is there a careers adviser you could speak to? (think they have them in job centres now?) They may know if there are any council ones as KAYZ says - think we have the same here - they tend to be pretty good. Hs/she could also advise on the best route for your career - it does sound exciting I must say
Thanks for the good luck vibes TINKS!
Hey that's great KAYZ, long may it last! Hey just thought maybe our 'condition' is making us both wake up in the early hours

Kayzr · 23/09/2009 20:19

Maybe it is Diege. I am not telling DH yet. Have you told yours at all?

Diege · 23/09/2009 20:51

KAYZ, I did mention the bleed and he said 'Maybe it's implantation' ...I mean since when does he know about such things!!! . I sort of said it didn't fit with timing/wasn;t the type of bleeding etc, as he was turning white...Not going to say anything until I get my BFN! What do you think your dh would say?

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 24/09/2009 07:59

Good morning

Having dreamed of becoming Kevin Mcloud's side kick (Oh my goodness me, would be his side kick in so many ways...... ) all night, I am actually getting very excited at this, probably 'up in the clouds' idea. Am thinking I could actually make a proper go of it. And in my usual fashion, I now need to know absolutely everything about it

It helps that of the two people in RL I've told about it, both have gone "Oh yes, you'd be great" (never mind that it was my DH and my best friend, and they are supposed to say things like that, actually DH is as stright as a die, if he thought it wasn't worth bothering over, he wouldn't be encouraging me!)

Haven't got time right now, even to be doing this, but Later I am going to google the level 4 thingy and see what that leads to, I am also going to find some interior designer's websites, and be very rude and a PITA, email everyone of them with some questions, and see if any of them bother to reply (not likely I know, but it would help if only a couple of them did) I will have a look on the council's website of where we're moving to, but TBH, I know I said I could get into a college to do it, but thinking about it, it would be so much easier time wise to be able to do it from home. It'd mean I get into good habits of using the weekday evenings for any future work and I can go as fast or slow as I want. If one of the kids had a bug or something, I wouldn't have to worry about going out and leaving them, etc. or even if DH had one of his very late finishes I wouldn't end up missing a night at college.

I don't really think there is much more I can do for now, there is no way I could start a course before we move, in fact I probably am looking at starting just after xmas, I'm just not going to get time before. But, incase you didn't get this already, I am very excited

And you two stop playing silly buggers and go get a test, you know the wagon is not good at waiting! (And LOL at Diege's DH's "implantation bleed", think my DH would look at you like your head had just done a 360 and fell on the floor if you mentioned such things to him )

See you all a bit later, Natalie Oliver (DIP.ID)

LOL, I'd get letters after my name.... That'll be me gone then

cantmummyhaveabreak · 24/09/2009 08:05

Well we had a better night- she got half an hours sleep just after i posted yesterday- i didn't need to wake her, the DC's did with their noise!!

Put her to bed just before 7pm as she was very tired, was asleep within 5mins as per usual.... i went up to bed at 8.15pm, gave her a dream feed at 8.30ish, then she slept until 11.30, i fed her then, then she also woke at 4.30 and 6.30am..... better than normal and i feel so much better after a good night from her!! Think it's gonna have to be keeping her awake as much as possible in the afternoons and letting her have a little nap early afternoon and one later afternoon like she had yesterday!!

Going to do the school & nursery run, then should be back. Have DD1's pre-school booster just after school collection later- not looking forward to it- haven't told DD she's having it, just hoping to arrive, do it then give her a lollypop to distract her!!

Kayzr · 24/09/2009 08:11

I am not testing as I know AF will arrive as soon as I test. It always does.

Our shed is coming today!! WOOOOOOO!!!!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 24/09/2009 09:18

Hello- i'm so into Florence and the machine album- have had to take my ipod along on the school run for tha last few days just to listen to it. Think i'm also gonna try out La Roux's album too- loving her released songs so expect i'll like the album. It's quite handy taking my ipod as DD2 always falls asleep just as we arrive to school so i put it on for the trip home, pop it in the pocket of my sling and i'm sorted!!

All my ebay bits sold, for a pretty good price too- sold the rest of her 0-3 wintery clothing (doesn't include the summery half of her wardrobe that i'll sell mid-spring) and her second 0-3 coat and got £30 for it. Quite pleased with that. Will be an extra £10 each for the DC's for holiday spends.... even though we've got a ton of holiday money swapped- we've also been saving for them too, they now have £30 each to swap into euro's... think i'll bu DD2 a lovely bear or something out of hers.

Can i ask- DH doesn't think we have enough money changed- bearing in mind that we'll only really have 3 days in the park, and 2 half days which we plan to just relax before and after the trips to and from home... we've changed £1000 into euro's, and have also then got the extra £90 for the DC's... I'm thinking £300 a day plus £100 for fuel is more than enough. So i plan to use the last savings for holiday clothes for me and DH but he'd rather we swapped it to euro's as he doesn't think we'll have enough.... What would you do? I mean we could maybe only spend half on clothing and i could buy from primark or in the sales if i can but i'd really like an excuse to treat myself to some new clothes... barely had any new clothing since DD2 was born and craving some me shopping!!

Kayzr · 24/09/2009 09:40

I am so pissed off!!! In the free local paper there is an offer for £5 off train tickets on the steam railway to Whitby. It is only on Fridays so we were going to go tomorrow and treat DS1. But the train doesn't run to Whitby on Fridays, it only goes to Grosmont. What is the point of the offer if we can't use it??

cantmummyhaveabreak · 24/09/2009 09:43

thats a right PITA Kayz- has Ds got all excited now too?

Kayzr · 24/09/2009 09:44

Yes he is really excited.
