Yay elf! Good news Erm... my scan was at 19+5, showed femur length of 19+1, Abdo Circumference was like 20+5 and head circumference was 20+5..... I think it's quite normal, DS's were all different as well! My scan hurt like hell she wiggled and rammed and poked and it bruised the side of my belly... but I'll have to get used to it again as I have another scan on Tuesday...lol

fastasleep · 08/06/2005 08:53

Hope everyone else's scan news is brill! (Bet it will be )

Piggiesmum · 08/06/2005 09:17

Congratulation to everyone whos just had their scans. Good luck to everyone about to have one.

You all seem to be doing really well thinging of names. We haven't got a clue, I can see us still saying "Well what about xxxxx" on the way to register the birth

Hester and Fastasleep, sorry to hear your still feeling sick , must be frrustrating especially when it supposed to be all over.

No tingling/leaky boobs here yet although they are geting bigger and still sore. They feel ginormous at the moment. By most unpregnant peoples normal standards they are probably still quite small but for me they are huge, I don't know where to put them half the time

Hope everyone has a lovely sunny day whatever you are doing.

ButtonMoon · 08/06/2005 09:47

Good luck to all with scans today...hope they are enjoyable Suffering with hayfever at mo...driving me mad...itchy eyes, runny nose and keep sneezing. Horrid! Not sure whther you are allowed to take anything. Think Piriton is supposed to be safe but I would rather not take anything at all. I'm sleeping badly too. Tossing and turning all night, needing wees and achey back. Can't see it getting any better over the next 4 months though...shouldn't complain too much though.

fastasleep · 08/06/2005 10:20

I'm hayfevery too, wah!...and I'm just about to take Theo for his MMR...can't stall any longer ...shoves herself out of the door!

SusiS · 08/06/2005 10:31

tossing and turning here too !!!

fastasleep: my boys has his mmr this friday!! hope yours is allright

on a happier note it's really sunny here today and both my men are asleep

jessicasmummy · 08/06/2005 11:06

anyone feel as if the scan is the last big milestone before the big day?!

fastasleep · 08/06/2005 12:12

HE's fine with the MMR...it's only a wee needle nothing terrifying I would treat my 20 week scan as a big milestone only whenever I have one I have to go back every two weeks for another one (AAAAAAARGH) lol, I'm just cursed to forever be scanned I think

What is the normal protocol anyway? After the 20 week scan when is the next one usually?

fastasleep · 08/06/2005 12:12

Interesting caps locked HE then!

jessicasmummy · 08/06/2005 12:14

fastasleep - i dont get anything after this scan.....

just midwife appointments

fastasleep · 08/06/2005 12:15

I'm lucky then in a way... I have a scan booked for next Tuesday and a 28 week scan and probably a 32... all because DS has kidney problems and this one's fluid in the kidneys is at the upper levels of normal lol...it's not hereditery or anything!

fastasleep · 08/06/2005 12:16

{lots of piccies for me! )

jessicasmummy · 08/06/2005 12:18

in a way, yes you are.... i was lucky to get a 12 week scan, it was more than i got with jess!

fastasleep · 08/06/2005 12:19

The NHS is so bizarre!

jessicasmummy · 08/06/2005 12:23

i know. liek the way some hospitals sex the baby and other dont.... weird. if iwas to travel 20 minutes down the road, they would tell me what im having, my one wont!

nervousmum2be · 08/06/2005 12:32

Hi Everyone - just to warn you all, i saw my GP last week for a routine check-up and she took a vaginal swab 'as a matter of course'. Yesterday, i got a call back to say it's come back positive for group B streptococcus (despite me having no symptoms), and i've been started on penicillin. My hospital trust does not swab routinely, and neither do many others - Be Aware!

Elf1981 · 08/06/2005 13:23

With refs to scans - at all hospitals in my area only do a 12 and 20 week scan (approx) unless medical problems mean further scans are needed.

jessicasmummy · 08/06/2005 14:17

Scan over and done with!

All ok, so was worrying over nothing. Still dont know what babe is and tbh, now i know its healthy i dont care!!!

Picture is amazingly clear... even see its fingers and thumb!

fastasleep · 08/06/2005 14:19

I'm counted as needing an 'urgent' scan which is a bit over the top to be honest... very strange treatment I'm getting lol... glad your scan went well JM! We got to see Sophi drinking on ours which was so great! I felt a bit sitting there as the sonographer pointed out her girly regions... poor Sophi! It could be nicer not to know!

tew · 09/06/2005 08:07

Had my scan on Monday which was fine, although was walking out when the radiographer told me that I had almost too much water in my placenta "upper limite of the normal range". Has anyone else experience this?

Also, my 21 week scan was just a load of jumbled up notes on a scrappy piece of paper (Roehampton Hospital) Sure last time I had a proper computer print out, showing me that DD had very long legs etc. What is other's experience? Thx.

jessicasmummy · 09/06/2005 08:35

i got a load of jumbled up notes on a scrappy piece of paper too.... didnt get anything with jess's scan! Oh well. 6 weeks til next MW appointment!

jolovett · 09/06/2005 09:25

Hey guys - took me ages to read all your messages - that's wha I get for being too busy to read up on whats going on here!

No news here really apart from the bricking of my house almost being finished! Just one fiddly bit to get done now and we can start plastering inside! Woohoo - at this rate we should be in before JJ comes along - there is no way I'm living in a caravan with a newborn!

Still looking for a cheap hol in the next couple of weeks. Can't wait to have a break away from it all.

By the way - beware of one of the sellers on ebay selling cots - we ordered one as it was a good brand, brand new at a good price. When it came back there was a hole missing for one of the screws so we have to send it back now. We talked to the seller on the phone last week about it and he said we have to send it back at our own cost (unless we wanted a replacement) and now there's an answer machine saying they only use email as communication now and are not accepting telephone calls. I think this may be a sign that they have had several complaints about the same problem maybe. Just to warn you!

Hope you're all well and enjoying showing off your scan pics!

CPT · 09/06/2005 10:26

[smile) Quick note to say BIG SMILES as all very well with mini me at our 20wk scan yesterday! Lots of wriggling, standing on head etc! It was fantastic. Glad others went well too. Yes thats the last one for us too! Scary.

Will post again v soon

Hope you are all really well

Well done and congratulations everyone who has recently had scans. Yes, that's it for me too until October - no more scans or tests.

Thanks for the tip about e-bay Jolovett. Will certainly look out for that.

Mawbroon - you are probably right it is just baby moving about causing the "hard bump". Will prod her back next time!

My dd is really thrilled to be having a partner in crime and wants to take "the picture the doctor gave me of the baby" to "show and tell" at school. Wonder if I'll ever see it again. She must be telling everyone about it, even those who aren't remotely interested. I am more concerned about my (nearly)3 year old as I think he will have his nose put right out of joint so will have to make a big fuss of him in October (easier said then done when you are completely sleep deprived!).

It's fab weather here - hope it is where you are too.

Joseyjo · 09/06/2005 14:45

my region only does 12 and 20 weeks scan unless you are "special" like me. i have one every 4 weeks now (1 week till the 24 week one) and i am so impatient for them - even though i find them massively stressful when they do roll round!! no pleasing some people is there?!!
as far as hard bits go (ooh err missus) braxton hicks are supposed to start at about week 22/23 so it could always be that. have to say i haven't noticed it yet though. maybe my body will have been listening to the consultant and will know that it doesn't need to practice contractions!!! here's hoping

have a horrible stinking cold and am feeling guilty about taking paracetamol. stupid really, but never mind. i daren't go to the doctor as have v green bogey and cough up (sorry if tmi ) and i don't want to be put on antibiotics unnecessarily. dh says go to the doctor or stop whining. meany.....
