Anyone else due April 2010?

I just found out yesterday I'm 4 weeks preggers after trying for our 2nd baby for a year and half, at last!! It seemed as though it was never going to happen!

Here's to the next 8-9 months!

OP posts:

dani87 · 07/08/2009 19:21

thehuntress i had a scan 10 days ago and u couldnt see anythin apart frm sac. so maybe you are earlier then you expected!

hoops997 yes im feeling really sick had to turn a night out because of it dont get out much so its not good. And since i saw midwife everything does seem real especially seein my lil bean n its heart beat!

wellieboot · 07/08/2009 20:47

Hi everyone, good news LeeWT and Dani87. thehuntress - fingers crossed for you.

I am not feeling as unwell as I would like - I am having mild nausea once or twice a day and feeling exhausted especially in the afternoons, but last time I just felt rotten from day 1 so I'm a bit worried. I should probably stop worrying and just enjoy not feeling terrible all day every day! They say each pregnancy is different don't they.

wow dani87! Your birthday is only 6 days after your EDD so you may well get to share it with your own baby (my due date with my DD was 6 days before my birthday but I went nearly 2 weeks over so it came and went while I was waiting for her to arrive!)

dani87 · 07/08/2009 22:02

wellieboot i no its crazy i had my dd on the 7th april to so expensive month for dp so my dd will b 2 nxt year omg got terrible 2s to deal with then again i think shes hit that already lol!

LeeWT · 07/08/2009 23:20

dani congrats on your little bean and the heartbeat

huntress i was told my a midwife that they never expect to see a heart beat before 6 weeks so i wouldnt worry. also not only can you ovulate on different dates it can take 6-11 days to implant which you may have no way of knowing. that could make nearly a week of difference so try not to worry (yeah yeah easy said) but fingers crossed for you

on a more panicky note, am hoping you all can reassure me... in work today i went to the loo and all of a sudden had awful cramps. i can only describe it as everything down there cramping.

it went on for about half an hour by which stage i was in my managers (thankfully female) office in streams of tears fearing the worst.

went to the gp as it was subsiding and she said it was too early to be ectopic and that they could be bowel cramps. its almost totally gone away now but the thing is ive only ever experienced that once before in the preg that i mc but i cant remember exactly when. gp seemed to think that if there was no bleeding it was a good sign but considering my mc was a missed mc i am panicking.

to reassure myself i did a test when i got in, positive of course but still faint.

has anyone else ever experienced crippling cramps, no bleeding and it was ok?

sorry for offloading, dh just doesnt understand..

bringonthetrumpets · 08/08/2009 02:34

Hi everyone.

Had my first day of full-blown m/s. Sort of "yay" on one hand and "oh great" on the other. Just generally felt hung-over for most of the day and my amazing dh has decided to cook tonight and I had to sit outside as the food smelled like stinky armpits to me . Here's to another 6 weeks of nausea!

Have my second scan all scheduled for the 18th. Can't wait!

lineky · 08/08/2009 08:55

My booking appointment is not until 3rd sept (EDD 10th April), as its my first no idea when i will get a scan - not till 12 weeks as far as I know so i am now ious of all of you who have seen your little beans!!!
Finding it silly difficult to keep schtum about it.
I am however still giving Barney Gumbo a run for his money on the burping front no one will believe I'm not drinking beer!!
DH has been chefing this week but anything with tomato sauce smells rank - bless him.

PrincessTweetz · 08/08/2009 09:06

Hello wellieboot...you have the exact same symptoms as me...in my last preganancy I was a lot more nauseous than sick, but I was still sick quite a bit...with this one, I hadn't been sick at all, just the passing moments of feeling really quite sick, and soo tired that I fall asleep as soon as it's quiet in my house when ever the aftenoon hits lol....all until last night that is...I was sick for the first time in 6 weeks...so make the most of not being sick while it lasts!! x

Neeko · 08/08/2009 09:07

Lee sorry to hear about the cramping. If the doc thinks that everything is ok, then unfortunately the only thing you can do is wait and see. I had a MMC last time too and it's awful. I keep worrying and thinking if my baby died today it'd be weeks before I know. I know therein lies madness but I just can't stop. I had a very vivid dream last night about having a MC and it has left me feeling very flat today. Hopefully the weeks will fly until we're all past the 1st trimester and the worry will become a little less. Take care.

LeeWT · 08/08/2009 09:20

neeko i hear you on the crazy dreams front. i dream of pregnancy tests, negative and positive and last night i dreamt i had a premature baby in the hospital that i forgot to visit. am still feeling guilty! crazyness..

how many weeks are you now? i am not even 5..

Neeko · 08/08/2009 09:34

Hi Lee glad i'm not the only one with the crazy dreams. I'm 6+4 today. I keep reminding myself that it's great that I've got this far but my last one died at 9+1 and I didn't find out until I was 12 weeks so it's such a long time to go to be past that point.
It's funny how even when you're busy and happy doing other things the thought is always there. I found out I was pg almost 3 weeks ago and think I've been petrified ever since!

wellieboot · 08/08/2009 09:44

dani87 my poor dh has that problem with December - my birthday, dd's birthday and xmas all in same 2weeks. Then his birthday on nye which everyone usually forgets - poor love! Don't worry about terrible twos - mine is 2.7 now and easier than when 1.7! just potty training which i'm having a nightmare with, but thats another story!

PrincessTweetz thankyou, feel better that it's not just me (that's what this board is great for isn't it). echo what Neeko says about the weeks flying until week 12/13, can't wait until then - seems ages away though when you're only 5 weeks!

Neeko · 08/08/2009 09:49

Wellieboot I potty trained my DD last month when she was 2.10 and found that one of those potties that's also a chair was the way to go. She wouldn't use a normal potty as it was uncomfortable for her and the toilet was too frightening. The chair potty combined with a sticker chart meant she was done in week and then moved onto the toilet. HTH

wellieboot · 08/08/2009 12:09

Thanks for advice Neeko - I agree with you about the normal potties - I bought cheapy 4.99 ones and she could barely sit on them as they were so small! She has never been frightened of the toilet luckily - the problem I am having is that she is refusing go to the potty/loo at nursery - she has the ability to hold it in all day until I come and pick her up! Not very good for her and nursery are not really helping. She also is holding in her number 2's not just at nursery, also not good for her. Dr has told me to give her lactulose as she has made herself hideously constipated and this is helping a bit.

There is always something to worry about isn't there, from the minute we even conceive! Why do we do this to ourselves! (I know why really!)

Neeko · 08/08/2009 15:06

she's still young and I wouldn't push it at this stage. You could always go back to nappies for a little while and then try again in a few weeks. You're right though: they bring no end of worry and no end of joy!

thehuntress · 08/08/2009 19:17

Thanks everyone for the reassurance. LeeWT - your point on implantation makes a lot of sense. I'm generally feeling much better today. I think I was so down yesterday because I felt so exhausted. Is anyone else feeling so tired? Some days at work I feel like it's 4am in the morning and I'm dying to go to sleep. I guess that's a good things right. Means my body is tired from growing baby.

Hope everyone has a good rest of the weekend. This morning we took my DD (2.9 years old) today to see a play adapted from "We're Going on a Bear Hunt". She loved it. I highly recommend it - it is at the Duchess Theatre near Aldwych in London.

CinnabarRed · 09/08/2009 17:22

mcfee · 09/08/2009 20:33

Can any one tell me their opinion of this? I have had brownish discharge and cramping for over a week now and it has got worse over the weekend. (Midwife on phone last week was not concerned)
When I did test originally it said Pregnant 1-2 weeks which was spot on as I know exactly which day I conceived and it was exactly 2 weeks later.
Tonight I have done another test which still says Pregnant but still shows 1-2 weeks when it should be 3+ as I am now 4 weeks since conception (or 6 if you count from date of last period)
This doesn't look good does it?

Neeko · 09/08/2009 20:46

Mcfee Ok 1st of all you shouldn't rely on the conception indicator tests as they rely on average amounts of HCG that not all women have. They also only count from conception, not LMP so say 1-2 weeks when you're really 4.
Brown blood can be someothing or nothing. As you've been having it for a while and it hasn't developed it is likely to be nothing but you really need to lobby your midwife for answers. Can you self-refer to your local EPU? They tend to be more sympathetic to early bleeding as they deal with it so much.
Feet up. Try not to worry and make some phonecalls in the morning. Don't allow yourself to be fobbed off.

mcfee · 09/08/2009 21:06

Its just because I am 6 weeks+2 or 4 weeks+2 depending on how you look at it so it shouldn't still say 1-2.
Have been trying to read up about HCG on t'internet, do you not think it was probably easier in the old days when we knew nothing?
Fobbed off is a good way of describing what my midwife does, she did it loads last time although they were minor issues.
Will phone tomorrow, not sure about EPU but wil ask.
Thanks for your help.

Neeko · 09/08/2009 21:10

It's still possible for your levels to be below the clearblue level and nothing to be wrong. Did you use FMU? Did you have a lot to drink before bed last night? I agree it was easier before we could access all this information as we google ourselves to insanity.
Try to get the number for your EPU fisrt and phone them directly. At worst they will tell you to contact your MW. If needs be, camp out at the doctor's in tears until they at least offer you a blood test to check levels.
Keep us posted and take care. I'll be thinking of you.

LeeWT · 09/08/2009 21:23

I agree with neeko, call your gp or call the ep clinic directly. if you are worried or upset you tend to get seen.

cant remember where or when but i have read on other threads the notorious unreliable-ness of those cb indicators. apparently midwives and drs are going mad because they are getting panicked women so i would agree with the others that it could be nothing. hcg levels differ wildly between different people and at different times of day.

you should def avoid the mw and try and get some answers but in the meantime try not to panic..

let us know how you get on..xxx

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/759711-Help-clear-blue-conception-indicator

www.fert ilityzone.co.uk/thread.php?threadid=23896

"Please note that the accuracy at 2-3 weeks has a 24% chance of being incorrect. We know that this is the time you?re most likely to test and we want to draw your attention to this fact.

To summarise, we discourage the use of these tests. We feel they are a gimmick and that they produce more angst than reassurance. "

i know we all use them but the fertilityzone website has a good point about them causing unneccessary angst. if it only has a 75% chance of accuracy at 2-3 (4-5) weeks that means one in four of the tests is wrong!!!

sausagesupper · 09/08/2009 22:15

Hi all!
Can I join. Not sure due date, can't remember last period. But got BFP about same time as some of you guys so reckon EDD beginning April
I too had wierd mild cramping and sensations in my lower tummy area. Feels most like a baby moving or mild contraction, but on a smaller scale IYSWIM and sometimes like being hungry and stomach growling. Someone on another thread said they were told it is hormones affecting your gut giving you wind so totally normal

mcfee · 09/08/2009 22:24

Welcome Sausagesupper!
