Anyone else due April 2010?

I just found out yesterday I'm 4 weeks preggers after trying for our 2nd baby for a year and half, at last!! It seemed as though it was never going to happen!

Here's to the next 8-9 months!

Congrats and welcome snowtiger and chiru !!

mcfee · 06/08/2009 15:45

Happy Birthday RTUFF !

I got my scan date today and it is also 17th September! At 1.30pm - when is yours?

Spoke to midwife yesterday when she called to make booking appt as I have had quite a lot of cramping and a funny kind of brownish discharge type stuff yuk yuk! but she didn't seem concerned, just made the appt with her for 28th Aug so am also trying to be as calm as her!

thighsmadeofcheddar · 06/08/2009 16:59

Happy birthday Rtuff, and welcome tiger and chiru.

Zero symptoms here except sore boobs. I'm tired, but I'm always tired, so who knows. I did shovel done a dirty mcdonalds today in celebration of not doing weight watchers anymore. I know, I know.

We're off on holidays without about 4 other couples on the weekend, god knows how I'm going to pull of not drinking. I was thinking of saying that I'm trying really hard to conceive and therefore not drinking. Then add, I don't really want to talk about it. All my friends know it's been a marathon so hopefully they won't ask. I just don't fancy saying anything yet.

Anyway, good luck everyone...again lovely to have nice anonymous people to talk too

WalkingBookworm · 06/08/2009 17:07

Happy Birthday Rtuff!

Sounds like a good excuse thighsmadeofcheddar - although my friends would then proceed to talk about it, hopefully yours are more tactful!

Don't have my scan date yet but need to ring up next week for it. What can you see on a 12 (approx) week scan anyway - before I get too excited about it, not a lot still presumably.

ReneRusso · 06/08/2009 17:26

Thighs, I have the same problem, we are going on holiday with friends and they know me as a committed drinker. Its going to be very tricky.

Rtuff · 06/08/2009 17:29

On the 12 week scan you can see your little baby, it's absolutely amazing, but they still won't be able to tell if it's a boy or girl but you can see it moving, it makes it so real!

mcfee my scan is at 9.30- can't wait!

thighsmadeofcheddar · 06/08/2009 17:33

what's your plan of attack Rene? I just figured the old anti bios wouldn't work.

PrincessTweetz · 06/08/2009 17:36

Happy Birthday RTUFF Hope uv been having a good day uva then the sickness!! ;)
I can't wait 2 get my scan...my first mw appointment is not til 7 Sept...but then I shouldn't have 2 long b4 they book me in 4 the real deal hehe...I'm 6 weeks pregnant 2day... Yay!!! It seems 2 b goin faster than my last pregnancy lol...must be because I haven't got hours 2 spare making lists of the pros and cons of each pram....and listing and relisting the things I'll need lol...(I do make them in the odd few minutes tho )

ReneRusso · 06/08/2009 17:44

My DH said just tell them you're on antibiotics but its not going to work. My friend's not stupid. I might try pretending I'm drinking but just not refill my glass all night, or pour myself just a tonic instead of gin and tonic. And get DH to keep drinking from my glass by mistake. But it all sounds like hard work, might have to just confess. That might be even more awkward though, as I know this couple are TTC. Perhaps I should tell them all I've quit because I've realised I'm an alcoholic, that should be a conversation stopper.

LeeWT · 06/08/2009 18:31

congrats to all the newcomers.

I went to the drs this morning and he did a test which came up as positive after a minute he says its early on..

he said congrats and gave me forms to fill in which is all a bit strange tbh after a mc because i still feel so frightened i cant celebrate..

i'm in same situation, i'm going on a girly weekend away with 5 of my best friends. one of them knows. another is pregnant and we were due the same week before i had mc. am thinking there is not a mission of hiding it!

xxx

Glad everyone else is windy bloated etc! Happy birthday Rtuff and thanks for starting this merry little band. Its sooo nice to not feel 'alone' and know what others feel like.
Today I felt sick, bloated, sore boobage and FANTASTIC!

PrincessTweetz · 06/08/2009 19:26

Haha...no my dr didn't retest me either!! I've done another 3 tests since going to the drs 2 make sure I really am pregnant haha....I am !! I had to take my dd to him for a mouth infection, and while I was there I just kinda told him I was pregnant, but didn't really see the need to book in with him only to be told to go and see the midwife, so I asked him if I could just book in with her..he checked my dates and looked very confused when he realised I still wasn't due on the day I'd found out...he just asked in a bewildered way why I'd done a test....I didn't know how to answer that one lol...

dani87 · 06/08/2009 20:44

HAPPY BIRTHDAY truff hopeyou have had a fab day!

oh well really nervous about 2moro about my scan! still feeling absolutly shattered and im also going of foods so im really hoping these are good signs. hopefully they wont need no more bloods from me as my arms are bruised as midwife couldnt get my bloods properly the other day could do without having anymore lol! how is every1 feeling?

LeeWT · 06/08/2009 20:49

lol with dd i went to the drs and said (shocked and shaking) that i was pregnant and did they want to do a test.

the dr asked how many tests i had done and when i replied six she said - no need you cant get six false positives

think the only reason the dr tested me today was because i was concerned it is faint..

p.s. my boobs are getting sore too but i do keep poking them to check which prob isnt helping!

Bettymum · 07/08/2009 09:38

Good luck for your scan dani87! Hope it all goes well and they don't take any more blood .

fifisboys · 07/08/2009 10:58

Just catching up...So sorry to hear about mc Littleonemum

Congrats and welcome to all the newbies....the list grows everyday

i had my 2nd set of test results back from gp's yesterday and my urine test came back fine and postive...i think the 5 bfp's could have told them that...and i have a booking in appointment on the 12th august so im excited about that..
I'm lacking in symptoms apart from sore boobs and tiredness..but the tiredness could be to do with my 3 year old and 1 year old!!!

Could someone please add me onto the list..not sure how to edd 05/04/10..thanks

well i saw the sac, the yolk sac and live lil bean! and the heart beat i was so surprised as didnt expect 2 see that so early on. well they are going 2 leave me 2 get on wiv pregnancy now but still dont think i would b able 2 relax yet.
omg wellieboot ur due on my birthday

Snowtiger · 07/08/2009 12:38

Hi all - when I had 12 week scan with DS it was amazing how much you could see - he was moving around and waving at us!! (OK, maybe just moving his arm, but it looked like a wave!)
I've got my DH's 40th birthday party next week, quite how I'm going to pull off not drinking at that one is anyone's guess, then I've got a week on hols with family (all committed boozers), an anniversary celebration with other family and a wedding to go to before 12 week scan likely. Don't think anyone's going to believe I'm on antibiotics for that long....

thehuntress · 07/08/2009 15:33

Hi all

Had the scan and saw the sac and the yolk sac, but she couldn't see the bean or heart beat. So I was really disappointed. I talked to my doc about it, and he wasn't too worried. But I told him that I thought I was 5w6d - he said that they should be able to see the heartbeat by now if I was that far along but maybe I'm a few days off. He said that sperm can stay in a woman's body for 3 days.

So I'm scheduled for another scan in 10 days, and it will be a long wait.

Dani - great news for you. Too bad I didn't have such good news to report.

thighsmadeofcheddar · 07/08/2009 16:05

Sorry Huntress, it will be a stressful 10 days but do try and relax. If the doctor didn't seem worried you probably have your dates out a bit.

Hope everyone else is doing okay. I feel slightly sicky today, not sure if it's just anxiety though. My mind is racing along.

We're off tomorrow for a week at the sea, so good luck all and hopefully see you all when we get back.

hoops997 · 07/08/2009 17:43

hello all, hope you all are feeling very sick and generally unwell

well I went for my midwife appointment this morning and now it feels real, god in 8 months or so that little blue line that I look at every day is going to turn into a baby......

Does anyone else feel like it's not real?? I have a scan booked for monday 17th and then it will be real

Neeko · 07/08/2009 18:01

Hi all. Sorry I've not been on in a while. Very busy week but not busy enough to stop me thinking about my bean a million times a day

Littleonemum so sorry to hear your sad news. I hope the sun shines for you agian soon.

dani great news on scan. you must be so pleased

Thehuntress plenty time yet. Try not to stress. We're here for you.

My excuses when pg and can't drink are sinus headaches, ear infections, having to be up early with DD and being too hungover from the night before. Clearly not all at once! This time I've also used the not drinking whilst TTC as everyone knows about MC and that shuts them up. Good luck to all of you who are off out to party/away on holiday.

P.S. Happy belated birthday Rtuff
