Anyone else due April 2010?

I just found out yesterday I'm 4 weeks preggers after trying for our 2nd baby for a year and half, at last!! It seemed as though it was never going to happen!

Here's to the next 8-9 months!

the tirdness paragraph is what it says on here under weeks 9,10,11,12 in the pregnancy calender not me trying to give advice. i too have no way of embracing it apart from giving up on cleaning the house all the time which then makes me stressed because its a mess ha.

thedollshouse · 23/09/2009 10:14

Good luck JPL, hope it goes well today.

I am 11+2 today and the sickness has kicked in, unless I am constantly stuffing my face I feel really sick, was sick first thing this morning. Also have a constant pain in my bladder during the night so not sleeping too well. This happened with ds I had no symptoms for the first 10 weeks then had all the symptoms that you expect to have in the first trimester in the second trimester. On the plus side at least it is feeling more real now.

Lots of people know I am pregnant, I am showing and have been the subject of a lot of gossip around the town. My friend said that she told a few people because they were going on about how much weight I had put on and she didn't want me to be embrassed. Lots of people to untell if the scan is not positive next week. Fingers crossed. Good luck to everyone else looking forward to scans too.

AdelaideJo · 23/09/2009 11:26

nic and tost I'm glad you felt happy after the awful bits were over...I know its terrifying, I feel every bit as anxious as the Mum at the time (and thats every time!). Its such a shame that the minutes really count because it just makes the whole scenario look like some over-the-top nonsense from Holby City!

Anyway, I shall not labour (!) the point any longer ..am 10 weeks on Friday and starting to relax a bit more.

Oh, i'm also very very porky and my DP has commented on my "massive face".

Thinking of you jpl, let us know when you have news.

thighsmadeofcheddar · 23/09/2009 11:43

Hi All,

Good luck JPL fingers and toes crossed for you.

Sorry Blondie for your news.

Just back from my nuchal scan which seemed to go well, here in Surrey they have to combine it with bloodwork to give you the results so that takes a couple of days to come back. But the lady scanning said it looked good to her. Phew!! Lovely to see the little monkey moving around and got some good piccys.

Hope you're all feeling better, I'm having better days. Still off and knackered at night.

Anyway, take care all.

JPL81 · 23/09/2009 12:41

Thanks so much everyone. Hugely relieved to report all is fine. Baby was kicking and waving away like a mad thing, heartbeat was strong and uterine lining is completely intact. We both sobbed like idiots! Still get to go for the scan that was scheduled for next Wednesday too. I'm 9 + 6 so was only 2 days out with my guess work!

Thanks again for all your kind words. Hope everyone is feeling ok/managing to cope with tiredness and sickness.

Mistymoo · 23/09/2009 12:44

Glad everything is OK JPL81

nicnacinoonoo · 23/09/2009 13:49

glad all went well jpl

Snowtiger · 23/09/2009 13:53

Hurray, that's great news JPL, was thinking about you today. You must be so relieved.

thedollshouse · 23/09/2009 14:06

Great news JPL and thighsmadeofcheddar!

Zeeky · 23/09/2009 15:46

Hi All,

Glad to hear of everyone's positive scan news, and very sad to hear of some bad news.

I'm starting to get a little panicky now about my scan. It's still not for another 2 weeks, but I'm starting to worry already. I feel less pregnant this week than I have for the last few weeks - my tummy is less bloated, boobs no longer sore and don't seem quite as big, and nausea has gone. I know I should probably be enjoying the lack of MS etc, but it is making me worry now that all is not well with Little Pip. I'm bursting to tell everyone too, as we are keeping it a secret until after scan. SO far only told 2 close friends, one of which is also pregnant and awaiting her 12 week scan.

Time just seems to be standing still at the moment. Trying to keep busy to keep my mind off it, but as I at home full time with DS I have plenty of time to think about it all

Roll on October 6th!

Z x

nicnacinoonoo · 23/09/2009 16:18

zeeky i am exactly the same, all the same symptoms not as big etc and the time is really dragging. i am also at home all the time with ds. my scan is on the 1st, hope this week goes fast but i doubt it somehow.

JPL81 · 23/09/2009 17:15

Thanks everyone! So relieved.

zeeky and nicnacinoonoo, if it's any consolation part of the reason I panicked so much yesterday was because I'd been feeling 'less pregnant' for a few days. My boobs weren't as full and definitely not as sore and I haven't been anything like as tired. Everyone's different, obviously, but I hope that puts your minds at ease a bit.

ReneRusso · 23/09/2009 17:52

I had a good scan too. Baby was looking fine, rolling around and messing about, and measuring a bit bigger so EDD changed to April Fools Day . Have to wait for blood work too, to get combined test result, but nuchal measurement was ok I think.
Best wishes to zeeky and nicnacinoonoo and all those still waiting.

Mistymoo · 23/09/2009 18:33

Zeeky you have the same scan date as me. Will be thinking of you on the day. Mine is at 3pm.

PumaGirl · 23/09/2009 19:31

Great to hear of all the good scans.

Sorry to hear your news though blondie - take care.

srce · 23/09/2009 20:29

well done jpl i also had scan today, could see a heartbeat really clearly which was lovely but its a tiny little bean.

theyve put my dates back 2 wks, argh! so thought i was 9 but am actually 7. god even longer to feel this sick and horrid. started to worry when i came out, does this mean its not very well developed? i remember a poster on this thread who had a scan that showed her baby was alot smaller than her dates, then she had a MMC. so now not only feeling dreadful but scared as well!

wont have another scan until 12wks which seems like ages away. god why does this first bit of pregnancy feel like it lasts forever. probably all the worrying i suppose.

hope everyone else is ok

thehuntress · 23/09/2009 20:42

So happy to hear your news jpl

I had another scan yesterday and they saw the nasal bone nice and clear. Everything looked great, so I guess that when I had my scan last week it was just a bit too early. Also, the baby was much more cooperative and it was a different sonographer.

My risk is now 1:3157, so I'm really happy as those are quite good numbers for a 36 year old I think.

I'm sorry to hear the sad news from others. Fingers crossed that everyone else has successful scans going forward.

lilmissmummy · 23/09/2009 21:03

nicnac I guess my friends were unlucky! I am glad that you have a lovely reminder and I hope that you find a consultant that can help you have the c section that you want. I am glad it is not just me that is too tired to clean but the mess is stressing me out!

So pleased that everyone's scans went well today! I kept my fingers crossed all day for you all! scre I am sure if you were looking too small or if the bean was not developing well then they would have noticed and called you back in a couple of days! Keep your chin up ! I know what you mean about the waiting and worrying!

I am fairly positive today - tired and headachy but not too bad!! I picked up my bounty pack from Boots today... it was so exciting like Christmas - although I only got a nappy, a breast pad, some sudocrem, a fairy tablet and a little tiny bottle of domestos spray but still v excited and made me feel all pregnant (and a little emotional ) made my husband laugh though!

lilmissmummy · 23/09/2009 21:05

thehuntress those are great odds!! Congratulations - glad it went well! x

Neeko · 23/09/2009 21:25

Well done to those of you wit positive scans.

srce a visible heartbeat at 7 weeks is a very good sign and sizes are most reliable at 12 weeks, so try not to worry.

I'm in maternity trousers now. Held out as long as possible, but it seems that as soon as I started spreading my news my tummy muscles said there was no point in pretending any more! Maternity trousers may not be particularly glamourous but are soo comfy and I've gone from size 14 normal trousers to size 10 mat ones, which is a nice psychological boost!

mcchesers · 24/09/2009 03:08

hi all..had my 12 week scan and NT today and all is fine. She was some kind of fetal specialist and had this really high powered ultrasound and after poking around..she told us it was a boy! wow. measurements were good, heartbeat was good..happy mum and dad.

srce to echo what others had to say, you don't really get the big picture until 12 weeks, so try not to worry.

jpl great news! I know you feel much better now.

those first 12 weeks are horrid. I'm still not feeling better, in fact much worse. Had to get a script for an antiemetic because I just couldn't eat. I'm wondering how I manage to gain weight anyway?! Well into my comfy pants..will be very handy for buffets

Hi to all the newbies!

Zeeky · 24/09/2009 08:40

Mistymoo - my scan is at 10.15am, so at least I don't have to wait all day! Will be thinking of you that day too.

We're going to be bringing DS (who's 2) with us to the scan (they said it would be ok as long as DH was there too), as we've got no-one to leave him with. Now wondering if it's not such a good idea, as I know I will be totally stressed out (was almost hyperventilating last time with DS's 12 week scan, I was so nervous), and worried in case it's bad news

Really trying to stay positive though, as there's not a lot I can do about it. Going to start Christmas shopping at the weekend to take my mind off things - I'm a bit of a Christmas freak (get all shopping done by end of Oct, cards written and sent in Nov, decorations up by 1st Dec !!)

Good luck with anyone having scans today.

Snowtiger · 24/09/2009 09:11

Zeeky your Christmas shopping and planning is making me hyperventilate!! Good lord woman, you need to get a hobby!!
Don't worry about taking your DS with you - maybe it'll help you keep your mind off worrying, as you'll be able to point things out to him and chat to him about what's going on etc. My DS is also 2 and I can spend hours with him just doing a running commentary on people, what they're wearing, colours, pointing out stuff etc. so maybe you can do that to keep yourself (and him) occupied? I'm sure it'll all be OK, fingers crossed for you.

Glad to hear everyone's good scan news. My scan is on Monday at lunchtime, and I can't wait, am so fed up of worrying and not being able to tell people. Am hoping to get a nuchal / odds result straight away so that I can stop worrying about that hopefully. My parents are away in the States with some friends at the moment and I'm dying to be able to send them a text with good news as soon as possible that day (they'll be waiting for one, they know the time of my scan) so they can crack open the champers on my behalf.

Also glad to hear of others feeling 'less pregnant'. My boobs are still sore and humungous but my bump has gone down so much that, having been in maternity trousers at 8 weeks, I'm now back into my normal 'fat' jeans (i.e. a 14 rather than a 12) and wondering what happened. I think it was probably all gas, I've been a horribly bloaty, farty beast for quite a few weeks now...!

Snowtiger · 24/09/2009 09:13

Just remembered something else I wanted to ask you all.

When I was pregnant with DS my hair stopped falling out - everyone told me that you stop shedding hair in pregnancy and then all the hair you should have shed over the 9 months comes out in clumps when you've had the baby (which it did!)

This time though, my hair's still coming out as it usually does, when I wash or brush it etc. Is this normal? Does it stop coming out a bit later on in pregnancy and I've just forgotten that detail from last time? Should I probably have something better to concern myself with...? Yes, probably. But just wondering!
