Anyone else due April 2010?

I just found out yesterday I'm 4 weeks preggers after trying for our 2nd baby for a year and half, at last!! It seemed as though it was never going to happen!

Here's to the next 8-9 months!

PumaGirl · 27/08/2009 19:30

Thanks for the advice MummyLovesSadie - no I won't be doing anything I don't want to!

ReneRusso · 27/08/2009 20:00

Am I alone in thinking we don't really need to keep the list? It is getting a bit unwieldy.

MrsJ09 · 27/08/2009 20:39

Thanks for the scan info - I just keep thinking, only the weekend, then it will be Tuesday then it will only be 2 days til by booking appointment, then only 5 days til the scan

Got ANOTHER reason to stress today - had a smear a while ago after having an abnormal one last year and it has come back abnormal again so I have to go for a Coloscopy the leaflet says you can have one when preggers but I don't think I like the idea of anything going on up there now!!

Anyone else had a Coloscopy before???

Mistymoo · 27/08/2009 20:49

I haven't even seen the GP yet to organise a booking appt. Is there anyone else like this?

MrsJ09 · 27/08/2009 20:58

I saw my GP at 6 weeks for the booking apt because I was going abroad the next day for 2 weeks and wanted to get the ball rolling before I went. Not sure what the normal time to go is?

BlueMoomin · 27/08/2009 22:12

Hope everyone is OK today

I have a confession ... I am only 6 weeks and I have been into work today wearing a maternity top already ... it was just sooooo comfy!!! I am finding myself walking round trying to hold my tummy in. I remember wearing maternity clothes early last time (10ish weeks!! In my defence, DS was a big bubba at over 9lbs !!) but this is just silly!!!

Pillia78 - Sorry you're in a pickle too, although I feel a bit better not being the only one! I was a bit shocked when she announced it to be honest... just presumed it would be next summer not in 4 months time!!!

Rtuff
Thanks so much for that ... I wasn't sure if altering a bigger size was possible, but sounds like thats the way to go. My sis has already pointed out a couple of 'off the peg dresses' she likes (and I like them too), so if I can still wear what she likes, I feel much better!

MrsJ09
Thanks for the link - hadn't seen those- It's 9 years ago since I got married ( OMG how did that happen?????) so I need to relearn all this wedding malarky!!!!
I like the idea of empire line - from the front (on the pics) the bump would be less obvious than in an a-liney style.... and I could eat the Christmassy wedding breakfast without worrying!!

Blondie10
We'll have to compare notes!! When in June is your friend getting married? I see your EDD is 27th April. My DS was due 1st Jan and born on the 12th Jan. We had our first night out (where he was left with Grandma -not overnight though!) on Valentines Day ... so roughly 4 weeks after he was born by emergency CS. You never know, you MIGHT make it to the hen do ... or at least some of it!!!!!

MummyLovesSadie · 28/08/2009 07:46

waspy If you are having an early scan you will most likely have an internal scan. They don't do a tummy scan until you are usually at least 10 weeks. All of the scans I've had this year have been internal ones & I've not made it past 10 weeks.... YET, but I'm bloody going to with this one!

Misty I'm 5+2 & have my first docs appointment this morning.

Mistymoo · 28/08/2009 08:21

MummyLovesSadie I hope your appt goes well today. I have made an appt to see my GP on Wed. So I presume he'll sort out all the other appts then. I think I'll be about 6+5 by then. (I'm not too sure what date to count as my last period because it was a strange one!)

mummyniknik · 28/08/2009 08:35

Morning Ladies,

Just a question to any 2nd time mum's who might have used this... After a bad exeperience on the NHS with my daughther's birth, I have made an appointment to sign up for the Midwife Led Care (MLD) at the Portland Hospital.

Anyone have any experience of this? Feedback? What happened in the case of complications?

Thanks in advance, Nikki.

Mistymoo · 28/08/2009 08:38

I thought you should all look at this which is on another thread. It looks very successful and we may all need it in 9 mths time.

here

pillia78 · 28/08/2009 08:55

Hey blondie10 I am thinking empire line will be the most flattering!!! I kind of prepped my friend when she announced the wedding as she said they were going for next December and I said 'Ooh I have time to pop out another baby before then'!!! It is her own fault for bringing the date forward, hee hee

Rtuff · 28/08/2009 09:34

Hi Mistymoo

I had my booking in appt at 8 weeks as this is when they like to take your first set of blood...

Renerusso I quite like the idea of the list as it allows everyone to see how far along we are, also when it gets closer to 9 months we'll be able to see who's closest to popping... how does everyone else feel??

OP posts:
Zeeky · 28/08/2009 09:37

Mistymoo - that link to Dr Karp is amazing! Will def. be trying those techiques this time around. DS screamed a lot in those early weeks as suffered with colic, and we got into a bad habit of walking around and rocking him in our arms for hours which was exhausting and meant he had to be rocked to sleep everytime.

Think I may have to invest in his book!

Z x

stinkypinky · 28/08/2009 10:08

Renerusso I like the list - makes it seem more real to me, and helps me feel a part of things, plus it is a way of keeping track of who is still with us - it is so sad to see names go, but at least this way we know... It also helps us know where we are (dates) in relation to others on the thread.

ReneRusso · 28/08/2009 10:20

I saw the GP when I was 6 weeks but still haven't heard anything from the hospital for a booking appointment. 8+4 now. I'm really hoping to hear soon especially as I haven't grown as much as I thought I would have by now, so I want to get a scan.

waspylady · 28/08/2009 11:23

Thanks for the info MummyLovesSadie I had no idea that the scan would be an internal one, good to know.

Hope your docs appt goes well this am.

I am finding it really hard to do any work, just obsessed with MN and looking up pregnancy related info on the internet! Really need to focus on doing some work.......
