I just found out yesterday I'm 4 weeks preggers after trying for our 2nd baby for a year and half, at last!! It seemed as though it was never going to happen!

Here's to the next 8-9 months!

I went to the surgery and saw a GP about the lump in my armpit. He said that it was a lymph node that had come out because of shaving, they would normally prescribe antibiotics but prefer not to because of pregnancy, I need to keep an eye on it and go back if it changes.

'Things not to say to a pregnant woman' list:

1. "Are you sure you should have a belly yet? The book says you shouldnt have a belly due to the baby ..."

2. "it's just your hormones."

3. "who ate all the pies?"

4. "Wow! I think you are soo brave having another one at your age!"

5. "You'd better get some strong contraception in after this one because nausea only gets worse in each pregnancy and therefore you don't want to be doing this again!!!"

6. "Celeb yummy mummys get back into shape in no time". (CF Chowmein's DH reference to jesscia alba)

7. "We couldn't find your ovaries as they were obscured by bowel gas . . ."

There is also the classic - wow, your bump is huge, you must be almost ready to pop (as a kindly pissed bloke at a wedding said to me last time when I was only 6 months!)

Bit of a latecomer to the thread, just trawled through it from beginning to end, took about an hour (!) but enjoyed reading about people's pregnancy experiences who are at a similar stage to me.

I'm 8 weeks today (GP says 9 weeks, but I have a 35 day cycle - why do none of them take this into account)? It's my first pregnancy, and I found out 4 weeks ago.

Had an early scan at 6 weeks after a slight bleed, but detected heartbeat so felt better then. No massive symptoms to date though. Was feeling nauseous all day between weeks 5-7 and throwing up a tiny bit in the evenings, but this has worn off now. Boobs a little sore, but not loads, and I don't think they have grown yet, although they are quite big anyway. My appetite has changed (eating more carbs, and not fancying the thought of cooking meat), and increased - hunger seems to creep up on me so I can go from not hungry to RAVENOUS in 60 seconds!

12 week scan on 15th Sep, although I think I will only be 11 weeks then, so just 3 weeks to go until I can get reassurance that lil heartbeat is still there.

Morning all!!! I got my first pair of maternity trousers yesterday, as I am offically 2 big 2 wear all my old ones lol...I'm now down to a choice of leggings , one skirt , joggers that I also got or the pregnant lady trousers lol...I'm still getting over it hehe (I also treated myself 2 a new pair of pjs...nice and loose 4 those very many lazy days haha)
I walked in 2 my mum's house yesterday with a house full of people and all I heard were gasps and comments about 'the twins' lol....Just a couple more weeks to go then I can assure people it's just a singleton...I think!! ;)

Morning all.

Just popping back in to say hello, have been away for a long weekend, which was tricky as was with parents, so had to pretend to be drinking when was secretly tipping it away! Had a lovely time though and it did pass the time away a bit quicker.

princess eek twins? I'm liking the sound of pyjamas for lazy days.

All okay here (fingers crossed), still have boobs that are very sore, am tired all of the time, and starting to have the odd wave of nausea.

my nausea is back so all is good and im not going to go to the gp and ask for reassurance scan. trying to remain calm and not to worry too much!.
I do feel fatter though but my scale says i havent put on weight at all....

I was wondering if I could join too!? I am due on March 31st (although Doc reckons it will more likely be April!) so am 9 weeks today. I have my first hospital appointment on 3rd September when I will be 10 weeks - can't believe I have had to wait so long already to see someone! My scan is on 8th of Sept - I really can't wait to tell people after that.

Been feeling very ropey the last few days as I have been back at work since Monday after 3 weeks off, during which I went on holiday to Cuba for 2 weeks so had lots of rest!

I was just wondering if anybody else has a 'round' tummy yet!? Mine is normally pretty flat but over the last week is has really started sticking out and I can't suck it in! I haven't put any weight on - even after 2 weeks all inclusive!

It's all so exciting - I just hope everything is growing ok down there, only 2 more weeks til I find out!!

My cousin's 6 months pregnant and has no problem telling me I'm as big as her...I think she means it in a nice way!! She's been asking me how many cheeseburger's I've been eating thisweek hehe, but I still don't have my first midwife apptmnt til 7th Sept...I'm counting down the days
I can't wait 4 my scan either...thn it really will feel real x

Oh the bloody MS I am so miserable with it Medication from Dr is working a little bit I think but at the moment I can hardly eat or lift head off sofa. I've lost 1/2 stone so a bit worried about my little bub. I know it will get better but just now it feels like I have no life and am doomed to feel sick forever and never leave the house again.

Hi Everyone,

Just wondering wether anyone has started wearing a maternity bra yet? My boobies are definitely feeling bigger and sore and my bars are getting a bit restrictive. Also, they are underwired, which you're advised not to wear during pregnancy. I can't remember when I stopped wearing my normal bras last time.

I am only 6+2 so still a long way to go until first scan so don't want to buy any new bras yet.

Hi Lineky - sorry you are having such bad MS. Just wondering, have you tried 10mg Phenegern tabs? you can buy them over the counter for a few pounds and they are aparrently safe to use in pregnancy. My mum and sister used them when pregnant and I have used them on really bad days. Best taken at night so you sleep better and don't feel so ill in the morning. You can take in the day but may feel drowsy.

Zeeky - I bought new bras week 6 and am so glad I did. All mine were underwired before that and were agnoy. I thought my boobs were bigger but when I got them measured I was still the same bra size. I got 2 day bras and a sloggy 'crop top' type bra to sleep in (I got this one a size smaller than I am as they stretch). I know you don't want to waste money but you can always get ones with a bit of room and you can use extenders too which only cost a few pounds.

zeeky I would sadly be in maternity bras if DH could find my maternity stuff which is somewhere in the loft I hate my maternity bras though, have to say if I did start wearing them now I'm sure people would notice my boobs were now somewhere south of usual and therefore give the pregnant game away.
Has anyone found any supportive maternity bras in small back/large cup sizes?

I bought some maternity bra's yesterday & they are soooooooo comfy. They are Miriam Stoppard from Debenhams, £20 for 2.

Could someone please remove me from the list...
I have been for a scan today as ive had brown spotting and the scan showed a sac measuring correct for my dates but the baby inside was measuring 6 weeks with no heartbeat
They have said it could be that my dtaes are wrong, but i know thats impossible to be out that much as i had my coil removed a few days before i was due to ovulate and got my bfp on day af was due so there is no chance that can be the case.
I have to go back in a week to be scanned again but she said if my dates are correct then it looks like a failed pregnancy
I'm so devastated, i feel awful..but we are going to try again as soon as we can....good luck to all of you

with regards to maternity bras I started wearing them about 2 weeks ago, I got a couple from M&S for £20, they are so comfy and I can also sleep in them.......but all my symptoms have now disappeared.....waiting for MS to hit me like a train!!!!!

Fifi I'm so so sorry for what you are going through. Here have a hug. I know full well what it is like to have a scan with bad news at the end of it. Can I recommend this thread. They have all had mc's & are now in varying stages of ttc, some pregnant, one about to give birth & many sadly still ttc. I'm still on the thread & the help & support is amazing. They are desperate for some new recruits as the list of non-pregnant ladies is dwindling as more of us are successful in ttc.

Sorry to hear the bad news fifi. I know its hard but try to remain positive.

Fifi I am so so sorry to hear that.. Sadly the same thing happened to me in May and the outcome was not good. BUT I was on a thread with other women in the exact same position and one of those ended up with a positive outcome...

Its an awful week for you to go through and to be honest I was raging they made me wait a whole week, surely even a few days should confirm?
