Anyone else due April 2010?

I just found out yesterday I'm 4 weeks preggers after trying for our 2nd baby for a year and half, at last!! It seemed as though it was never going to happen!

Here's to the next 8-9 months!

I've got my booking in on Wednesday, the Midwife comes to you down here, which is good otherwise I'd be dragging two toddlers with me. My 1st pregnancy took an hour, my second wasn't as long, half an hour I think.

Fifi - I have hardly any symptoms, my boobs are sore and that's it, I was weeing more, but that seems to have eased off. Still only 6.1 so I suppose there is time for some more stuff to kick in yet.

preggo · 24/08/2009 18:49

Hi every1,

I am 6 weeks 5 days pregnant, counting down until the safety period is over, had a miscarriage last year at 10 weeks and im so worried its gonna happen again. Just waiting for scan appointment to come through the post. Feeling really bloated at the moment. Is this normal, i look like im 6 months gone already!

hoops997 · 24/08/2009 19:33

preggo I sat down at work the other day and my button off my suit jacket nearly took someone's eye out.......yes am very bloated

Am 8 weeks 3 days

Prisci · 24/08/2009 19:45

What a releif, Huricane Bill passed 170 miles of Bermuda, so not much damage to report, pleased to be only 6 1/2 weeks pregnant since the hospital made all the people due or due that week stay in the hospital just in case, imagine being stuck in an hospital for approx 16 hours without a bed etc...

Preggo, I am with you, I've had a miscarriage back in January at 8 weeks so I am also extremely worried. I am being extra careful etc... and I am having a scan on Thursday to check if everything is fine. I cannot wait, I am also having vision of having twins, as I am so exausted and getting bigger by the minute. I am quite skinny so my tummy seems to already be showing, but I am not a barbie, my hair are everywhere and the house is quite in a state most of the time with DS. There are a few barbie's around here but most of them have a cleaner, a nanny and a personnal trainer, so no wonders... I went to a playdate a few weeks ago, the house was so perfect that it look like a show home, there were no plastic toys and the one in the boy room were all pale blue and vice versa for the girl one, everything was so immaculate that there was nothing at all on the kitchen counter apart from some decorative art, I am not kidding at all. I am still recovering from the perfection and I still have not returned the favor there is no way our house will ever be that perfect. I don't even want it, to be like that, but it is annoying none the less.

LeeWT · 24/08/2009 20:11

Girls my ms is getting so bad it's like when I was preg with dd.. Pretty ok for morning, feel bit sick after lunch, tired towards hometime and once I'm home I'm a nauseous, tired mess til bedtime.. Am 7+2 so it's going to be an ETERNITY before Im feeling better!

There seems to be a few of us here who've previously had a mc, there's a new thread in preg called "totallys GRADS" which is a bit of hand holding for those of us who are just a bit more panicky.. All welcome :-)

in other news I have a scan booked for tomorrow week, someone I forget who sorry, asked about an early scan.. I contacted the local maternity hosp explained that i've had mmc recently and was there anty chance of a scan.. They booked me right in..

annlouise75 · 24/08/2009 20:15

Thanks all for your comments - I expect I'll just have to take a bag full of toys and books to keep him amused for an hour (hmm, unlikely...)

stinkypinky · 24/08/2009 20:57

Hi all,

Another thing to add to the 'things not to say to a pregnant woman' list - "Wow! I think you are soo brave having another one at your age!"

I am only just 40, and was greeted with this comment by my (not so dear) MIL last Thursday. My DH says she meant it as a compliment...

Met up with a pal on Sat, and the first thing she said was - you are pregnant... with twins! I asked her how she 'knew', as I am only 5 weeks - she said she just knew, and smiled.

A very emotional weekend!

Glad everyone is sounding relatively well...

MummyLovesSadie · 24/08/2009 21:17

Knock knock.... could I come in please? I had my bfp last week & its just about sinking in. This is my third pregnancy in 8 months. I had a mc in Jan & one last month. I somehow managed to get up the duff on the first cycle after the last mc . I'm taking baby aspirin & the lovely doctor at the epu has given me progesterone pessaries to take every evening. I'm feeling positive this time, as much as I'm trying to keep my feet on the floor & can't quite stop myself from getting all excited ! I have a dd who will be 2 in October.

Wowzers there are a lot of us on here huh? It's going to be difficult to keep up with the thread.

Annlouise my booking-in appt took about an hour with dd but apparently takes less time if you've already had a child. I'm going to take my little horror angel so I really hope its not too long!

Fifi I too never get many pregnancy symptoms - I'd love a bit of ms to reassure me right now! My norks have now suddenly grown & are quite achey. I actually did another hpt this morning & no, I've not imagined the whole thing!

Trimummy have you thought about taking low dose aspirin? I'd really recommend it, the benefits have not been proven but it will do you or your baby no harm. It improves blood-flow to the uterus btw. There are several girls on the other thread that I'm on that have had multiple mc's who are now on aspirin & are carrying healthy babies. BTW I'm 40 as well, yikes!

Helpet snap! How much of a shock is it to get a bfp so soon after a mc??!

Betty when I was pregnant with dd I had terrible cramps right through the 1st trimester & one of my friends has had exactly the same with both of her pregnancies.

Tostaky I don't think you'll be able to hear the hb until at least 10 weeks.

Right have read back as far as my tiredness will allow, I'm about to add myself to the list.

Really looking forward to going through this journey with you all.

Neeko · 24/08/2009 21:19

Neeko I thought you were fast apeeps in bed?

helpet · 24/08/2009 22:04

Hi MummylovesSadie - yes it is very weird to be preg again straight after an mc - talk about an emotional rollercoaster.

I'm still not quite believing it but I do feel more pregnant than last time - at least I think I am. My digestive system has ground to a standstill! Though I am lucky not to have any real ms (so so sorry for all of you on here who are suffering). However with my DS I had no symptoms at all for the first 8 weeks and then for the next 7 months I felt as sick as a dog with heartburn from hell! Joy! Mind you - after an mc it's amazing how much more nostalgic you get about pregnancy; the good and the bad!

Planning to go to a walk-in EPAU clinic after 8 weeks (if I can make myself wait that long).

Good to be here xxx

PS Glad I've got no pregnant barbies on my street!
PPS Just made a recipe from Babycentre for a stew which is good for early pregnancy (lots of folate etc). It was revolting - DH not impressed and I feel sick!! Think I'll go back to my normal cooking rather than obsessing about what to eat that's good for the bean!

BlueMoomin · 24/08/2009 22:07

Hello!

A bit late, but wondering if I could join you all?
I have had 3 very faint BFPs ... and am finally - just about - allowing myself to think that I might be pregnant!!

We have been TTC n#2 for just under 2 years. DS is now 3.7. We had just finished 6 months of clomid and were about to start IVF treatment ... and I appear to have conceived naturally after all this time! I thought I would be absolutely delighted after everything we have been through ... but instead I am totally terrified!

I saw my GP on Friday (who has been fantastic through all our strife!) who has given me a EDD of 24th April. I have my first midwife appointment tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully it might all feel a bit less surreal then!!

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Bettymum · 25/08/2009 09:58

Hello new people
My cramps seem to be getting better...but nausea and tiredness getting worse! Managed to go to bed for an hour on Saturday and Sunday afternoons while DH looked after DD, which was lovely. Ate my breakfast this morning, went upstairs to do my teeth, thought "Oh I don't feel well"...and there went all my muesli down the toilet . However I felt a lot better after I puked.
I am feeling fat already, but had to laugh just now as one of the secretaries at work told me she thought I'd lost weight .
I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and have my booking appointment, it's scheduled for an hour.

thedollshouse · 25/08/2009 10:01

I found a lump in my armpit yesterday and was in bits all afternoon. Dh came home from work and said it was just a spot.

I don't know whether I should book an appointment with the GP. I want to believe dh and he really sounded very sure but I am very anxious and always fear the worst. My GP is sick to the back teeth of me and I think if I visited her for her to look at a "spot" it might send her over the edge.

blondie10 · 25/08/2009 10:58

Hello - can I join too please? Am due on 27 Apr 2010. Have just been reading back on all the posts and am glad I am not the only worrier!! My DH thinks I worry too much but I think it's a woman's prerogative!

This is pregnancy no 2 - I had a lot of scans the first time round as became pregnant straight after having an op for endometriosis. Second time round and I will be having the 'usual' number of scans - will find it very hard to wait until 12 weeks!!

Can I be added to the list please?

tostaky · 25/08/2009 11:27

dollshouse could you see another doctor at your surgery?

Im really worried bc all my sickness/tiredness suddenly went last night, and still nothing this morning... i feel fine when yesterday i felt absolutly awful...
so i tried again to listen to babys hb and of course couldnt get anything but i couldnt hear the placenta either whereas last time i could... im 8+5 and im not sure what to do..
if i miscarry, id rather know now than wait for my 12 wks scan.
if i go to my gp will he refers me for a scan asap?

mcchesers · 25/08/2009 12:00

hello everyone

tostaky At about 8 weeks your HCG levels sometimes rise every 3-4 days and not every other day so you can get a bit of a reprieve from the MS. I had the same thing happen to me..and then lo and behold the sickness was back. Hang in there and relax. If you are cramping and bleeding then go to your doc, otherwise would suggest to hang tight. I'm sure the MS will come back soon. You might ask your doc if you can get a reassurance scan. x

I'm not having MS anymore, just afternoon and evening sickness. blech. Actually it's ten to 6 am here and I'm up enjoying not being sick before it all kicks off. My second scan is tomorrow morning, so having faith that all is well. DH came into bed last night with some terrible gas..I said you better not come anywhere near me with your foul behind. Oh God, it would have been all over with me locked in the toilet.

Anyone else have a blocked nose? Welcome newbies!! That's a big list!!

Bettymum · 25/08/2009 12:06

Hi tostaky I replied to your other thread. When I phoned the hospital regarding my awful pains the EPU said they couldn't take walk-ins, so I went to the GP as soon as surgery opened and she referred me straight to the EPU with an appointment time that morning. So maybe first point of call is your GP?
Having said that, my SIL was having awful MS and then woke up one morning and it was gone. She was very worried but baby is fine!

PumaGirl · 25/08/2009 12:23

Hi All,

Just like to say thank you to pregnantpeppa and LeeWT for your happy ending stories after an unplanned DS/D! Will keep focused on them as unfortunately my DP is currently very anti me continuing with this pregnancy.

Also to Trimummy, chegirl, sinkypinky and MummyLovesSadie - glad there some others over 40 here (I'm 41)!

MummyLovesSadie · 25/08/2009 12:34

PumaGirl please don't be made to do something you don't want to. Life is too precious to make the wrong decision & then regret it for the rest of your life.

CinnabarRed · 25/08/2009 13:28

I was going to come on here and moan about work, Nan's funeral on Friday, having a cold and being (morning) sick every time I cough. But realise that others here have plenty more on their plates to deal with so will shut up.

Anyone else have teenage acne back?

Just me then....

Had my booking appt with MW yesterday. I took DS (2 today!!!!) with me and he was good as gold. I had plenty of snacks with me and a new sticker book which kept him occupied. He was totally fascinated with the MW taking my blood pressure and blood samples! Appt lasted about 45 mins. Got to phone up next Tuesday to get a scan appointment. Currently 6+1 so very early days.

Symptoms so far:

  • sore boobs
  • bigger boobs (get in the way at night and as they are sore, wake me up!)
  • having to get up in the night to wee
  • bloated tummy (probably due to me eating more recently as now off the diet!)
  • slight nausea after breakfast & when brushing teeth
  • loss of appetite in the morning - really have to choke down some cheerios!

Z xx
